Mason Daring used this traditional tune as "Fiona's Theme" in "The Secret of Roan Inish" and I've loved it ever since! Thank you so very very much for making playing it a little easier for me! :D
I appreciate you taking the time to give a walk thru on this tune. I think I've mastered the basics of it. Of course, I get kind of depressed when I watch your full rendition with all the ornamentation, because it sounds great, but also different from the basic, and I'm having trouble trying to identify the techniques. But keep the videos coming!
I think I'm going to start re-shooting and re-posting videos. I'm teaching a course this Fall at Marquette University to introduce students to the tin whistle.
Your tutorials are great. I bought a Waltons tin whistle yesterday and I have been looking for tutorials on how to play "Gabriel's Oboe" as well as "Promentory" or "The Gael" as they call it from The last of the Mohicans but I can't find any. I would really appreciate it if you could post those tutorials.
What tin whistle is he using? it's so clear and i know that comes with practice but it really sounds better than the generation tin whistle he is playing Would appreciate if Ryan or someone else can respond Thanks
Mihnea I know this was a really old question but for others who are wondering now a days. I believe it is an O'Riordan fipple on a Generation body. O'Riordan no longer makes whistles.

I'm getting a bit better in this, but the ornamentations are my deadly enemies, I can't put those effects to the songs, it's frustrating...

Do your religious vows and commitments affect your choice of tunes or settings in which you would play?
Not even slightly.
Does the Church forbid a priest from participating in or attending certain activities? e.g. It is hard to imagine priest boxing or attending a bout.
Can you play some christian psalms on the tin whistle?
Tabs Please ¿?
He says in the video where you can find them.
Man like Ewan Sheridan
I won’t watch this because it’s being sponsored by “the epoch times.”
