Battery life is top of my list as a train runner + hiker, exclusive of fast charging. Apple’s been able to lean into this with their own silicon on other devices, and hasn’t even signaled that they care about it on the Watch lineup. Please get the AWU to at least 5-10 days and we’re talking. Even if it means a separate profile for outdoor use that doesn’t require turning off a ton of features 1 x 1.
I upgraded my Apple Watch to the ultra 2 from Series 4 and the biggest thing I noticed was the battery life. Battery life needs to improve. I am a fan of not charging for 2-3 days.
I love the series 10 coming from a Ultra 2.I dont need my Ultra now that I have majority of the benefits on my 10. I only use it to check the time, weather and notifications and cellular so I can keep off my phone lol. and I love how contour looks on the 10 as it stays edge to edge even in AOD mode. little upgrade to some, but a major for me. love the asthetics

Id appreciate if they can get their blood ox back. I suffered lung dmg from ecmo life support and technically at risk of my lungs collapsing from the pnuematecelles covid left. So having blood ox to monitor my oxygen is not a "nice to have" but a potential life saver for me with that. Sucks theyve been unable to fix the patent problem.

I think what would take it to the next level would be introducing smart bands. If there was some kind of Smart Connector for power/data transfer, the bands could have sensors in them, maybe different sensors in different bands, or maybe even a band to give a little extra battery. There were tons of rumors of a new band system in 2024 but that obviously didn't happen. Who knows if it was ever going to happen or if its just delayed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Agree, Brian, as someone who needs to check BP daily, this could be a sometimes alternative to the cuff. Currently have the series 8, & am planning to switch to the 12 when available.
A simple design change, similar to the renders, that would pique interest again. The renders look cool. Even if blood glucose and other sensors arent ready for market, a design change that falls in line with the iPhone would be cool, and many people have been asking for that anyway.
They just released an update and yet the battery on the iPhones drops so bad and can't barely use your iPhone too much because the update has made the battery to drop drastically

I have the series 7 and first and only smartwatch ive ever owned. I would be very interested in the Ultra 3 or 4 if they add new health sensors, which i know is super hard to implement. other watches also have stress senors (EDA electrodermal activity, like a polygraph uses), is present in some fitbits as well. hopefully SpO2 (blood oxygen) comes back as well, but i do love the Ultra design and how many complications are on the face. honestly with the plastic shield i put over the front of my 45 mm series 7, it;'s as large as the Ultra anyway and i see folks with Ultra apple watches and never really looks too oversized to me
to be honest it's gotten to the point where Im not even feeling the watch like I used too. I have the ultra 2 in black, I bought the s10 but felt very similar to my s6, returned it, bought the ultra. I love it but im starting to feel that it's not as important as it once was.
My Garmin Forerunner 955 can go a week roughly without charging. Apple can at the very least get on the 5 day minimum or never be an option again. Phone calls were nice to have on my series 4(non-LTE) but I’d never use it to do more than read a text. Even just using it as a general fitness and sleep tracker, battery life is atrocious. 36hrs max on the Series 10 and 72hrs max for the Ultra imo is unacceptable.
"They" wont make the battery last? You can't have the latest features and technology in a slim design and have it last a week. The battery technology doesn't exist yet

the new iphone air will have this new graphite battery, so the apple watch NEEDS that better battery desperately!!!! the ultra might get it first, as a differentiater... plus give it smartbands!!! PLUS offer some smart bracelets who can incooperate bigger sensors and batteries. because craming all in this tiny watch will limit drastically what you can do with sensors and features!!!
What I would like to see if the apple watch to properly log walks without having to start a 'workout' every time.. It will literally stop measuring my heartrate during a walk unless I start a workout... Come on.. Basically the hardware has been great.. software is so bad now...

I was incredibly angry when I traded in my Ultra Watch for the new one the Apple salesman didn't warn me that I would lose health capabilities. Because Tim Cook lacks morals and values, Apple stole tech from Masimo. 2. Find My. I need left behind alerts for my Watch. Why is the watch the only Apple device that doesn't have this feature? 3. Blood sugar. 4. Blood pressure. If Apple gets these features in a watch, everyone will want one. The Apple Watch saved my life. It alerted me about a dangerous health issue and I made it in time to the emergency room. However, after upgrading and losing a key feature is incredibly a BAD APPLE. I no longer feel Apple has any set of morals or values. Well, crazy left values, yes. And is anyone talking about the Siri snooping lawsuit that was just settled? Apple says they're for user privacy but it's lip service.
Apple is falling so far behind now. AI native devices will be rolling out any moment and Apple is still catching up on tech that has been out for a time. 2024 was a lot of hype over nothing and as a long time Apple fan I feel like we can’t keep waiting for them to deliver on something real and groundbreaking. Too much disappointment

I agree with only upgrading the Apple Watch when you need to, that’s why I have just made my first Apple Watch upgrade from a series 2 to 10.

I am just hoping for a slightly less bulky and heavy Ultra but with the battery life of the current Ultra. I would definitely upgrade.
