  • A step by step video on how to program a smart key remote fob to a 2015 - 2016 GMC Yukon.
    More free DIY programming instructions available at www.ProgramYou...
    *This will only apply to 2015 and 2016 GMC Yukon's that have push button start ignitions.
    A new smart key remote fob can be programmed to the vehicle when there is one programmed remote. To program, the vehicle must be off and all remotes, both currently programmed and new, must be with you.
    1. Remove the key from the key from the programmed remote.
    2. Place the programmed remote in the cupholder or passenger seat.
    3. Insert the vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle. Then turn the key counterclockwise, to the unlock position, five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.
    4. Place the new remote in the remote pocket/insert. Open the center console storage area and the storage tray. The remote pocket/insert is in front of the storage area next to the center console storage area between the driver and front passenger seats.
    5. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the remote is learned, the DIC display will show that it is ready to program the next remote.
    6. Remove the remote from the remote pocket and press unlock or lock on the remote. To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 4-6. When all additional remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
    7. Return the key back into the remote.
    This how-to video tutorial can be used to program the smart key remote fob on the following GMC models:
    2015 GMC Yukon ( SLE, SLT and Denali )
    2016 GMC Yukon ( SLE, SLT and Denali )

    Great video!! I hate how people drag out videos much longer than necessary. I had the fob for my 2016 Yukon XL Denali reprogrammed within 2.5 minutes. And it saved me the $225 my dealer wanted to charge me. Amazing! Thank you!!

    Perfect! Saved me over 700$ on two additional keys and programming.
    Initially my screen stayed black on a 2016 Yukon Denali, but once I put the key in the programming slot it showed up with the display

    I'm at the dealership now. They quoted me 175 for programming a key. For less than 5mins of labor? I came straight here and found what I'm looking for. Thank you for the information. It is definitely an escape room tactic I wouldn't have figured out.

    Great simple to the point clear video! I just got my new fob and within 3 minutes or less it was done. I forgot to hold the start button for a 12 count and the new-or old fob wouldn’t start the vehicle. I then did the 12 count and all is well. Thanks again!

    I had a key cut on my worn out key, ordered two new fobs on eBay and used these simple instructions to program them both. My only issue is it seemed like it wasn't detecting the original or the second programmed key. I only had to hold down the button for more than 12 seconds to exit programming mode (a couple times) and they both work (all three counting the original)! Saved me hundreds. Thanks!

      The proceudre below will erase all previous remotes and the order in which you program them back in will determine the remote #. You will need to start he proceudre with all the working keys far enough away from the vehicle so they cannot be read th-cam.com/video/9XxsQfoK_pU/w-d-xo.html

    Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I followed the steps but remote is not registering. In the last step 12 second hold on start button is it suppose to confirm the addition? The new remote should be programmed after the stop start button is pressed - the display should read "ready for remote 3" or 4,5,6 etc. However some vehicles only seem to show that message for a few moments right when the door is opened or closed.

    • @PYR-Auto
      @PYR-Auto  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if you're getting the vehicle into programming mode but the vehicle is not responding to the remote then it is likely a problem with the key fob

    • @gdc5ind
      @gdc5ind 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PYR-Auto I assumed that and asked the vendor to send me another fob. I might have to buy some type of GM scan tool so I can figure this out. There is no way I would take it to GM for programming when I can buy something that will allow me to scan and adjust things in GM vehicles for what it would cost me to have the program the fob.

    Didnt work for me. According to the owners manual this method is if you have 2 recognized remotes already. If you have only 1 then you have to follow a different method which requires clearing and then relearning the Original remote. The message display will say Ready for Remote #2 for method one, OR it will say Remote Learn pending for mehod 2 which takes 30 min
