This feels a lot more like True Colors rather than LiS1. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's only fair that deck nine has its own style, but I hope writing a story about Max rather than a new protagonist isn't just a cash grab. Life is Strange was never just a about murder mysteries, it was about the characters and growing up and dealing with love and trauma and fear. I just of Deck Nine can deliver the game Max deserves.
Exactly my toughts, it seems like a cool game and im going to play it, but i feel like there is too much focus on the murder mistery thing, people loved the first one cause it was an experience, adapting to a new school, saving your friend, making friends, save a girl from ending herself, covering dark secrets, and only at the end we get close to the fact Rachel's dead. I hope im wrong, but putting "Murder mistery" in the title dosnt feel very "Life Is Strange". (Not complaining, im glad we get to play as max again, just sharing some toughts on the series as a whole)
ngl it feels like a cash grab I would have preferred them just making a new character. What made Max so good was the setting she was in and the contrast between her and Chloe. In this setting she feels washed out, and all the characters around her are shallow. If they're gonna bring Max Caufield back, then there has to be purpose and a reason for her to be back. I wouldn't be surprised if this started off as a shallow story that just wasn't good, so they made the protagonist Max to distract people from how bad it is. I'm not saying that's the case, but if it is then i'm going to be disappointed. I'm already not really feeling these trailers anyway
Hmm… I disagree 100%. I had a very bad feeling when they always described it as a "supernatural murder mystery with Max Caulfield", but this gameplay absolutely changed my opinion. It was full of mystery, emotion and shock and, in my opinion, felt the most like the original LiS out of all the other LiS games…
Life is Strange is just a title now. LiS 2 had a completly different approach to the whole thing in LiS but still gets that core foundation about it correct. Its about Life man... I think it might be Max herself who is the killer, too. They hinted that Safi is the key to solving the mystery, so it might be that Max is destined to kill her after finding out some bitter truth or something.

A kind of entity that feeds off of one's suffering for the joy of it. A kind of entity that likes to play games with its victims. Just a thought. I'll update this comment after playing through the games again so that I can provide the most predominant examples. Its been a while since I played them. And it looks like this entity is going to have a good time this fall.
I don’t think you absolutely NEED to play the first game to enjoy this. The line is there mainly to clue newcomers in that something really bad happened in Max’s past, which hopefully would convince them to play the original game for full context. Either way, it’s still subtle enough that a casual player can still enjoy the game without confusion, compared to other sequels where it’s pretty much essential to play the previous games for story reasons.
Also, it’s as if Oregon and Seattle are connected. Those are the places that max, Daniel, and Alex got their powers. Maybe this entity could be in that area? I don’t believe this entity is a bad thing if it really exists though.

People react to someone dying in front of them in different ways. Some freak out externally, others more internally. I think inside Max is just screaming “Not again!” over and over. That and the most likely reason is that because she has learned to lock away her powers for quite a long time, this might mean she composed herself to try and keep her emotions in check to prevent her power from coming back…

if chloe is relegated to having surprise appearance like david in lis2, then i dont think i'll be interested in this game. that clearly shows the developers have no understanding of the significance of her and the choice that we had to make in lis1. they will not in fact be respecting the both choices. what might be interesting with that however is if you choose bay and she makes an appearance in the other world! that could be really cool. but if you picked bae and all we get is a cameo. than that'll just be a pass for quite a few people i believe.

From a certain point of view the fact that Arcadia Bay is destroyed and a Chloe who is alive but also has become a stranger in Max's life in the 10 years since is "respecting our choices". The fact that max's new bestie didn't know who Chloe is 6 months into their friendship is extremely worrisome.
The ending in LiS1 was still divisive. All the story build up of helping ppl and they die in the end, or have everything you did reversed but sacrifice your friend’s life?
I still feel like one of the biggest mysteries from LIS1 was Nathan's rich dad. The letters he left behind had some weird stuff that implied something more happening. Always felt their was more to the Prescott story. I do hope they focus on more than the murder mystery. It was about growth, change, things we could all relate too. Friends, anxieties and so much more. Max has went through a lot since she left and I hope we get to explore this with her.

In case anybody was looking for the track at 17:05 (which is also the track used in the reveal trailer), it's called "Illusion" by Tessa Rose Jackson and FFM. The track gave me so much FFM vibes. It reminded me of "Stay Alive" from Dead Island 2, which was also produced by FFM.

Crazy this franchise is hitting 10 years old. I’m pretty proud of the developers for really making a “finalized” aesthetic through the different Life is Strange stories - and this feels really realized.
I really like Max's reaction to Safi's death, like the built up the sad and "Not again" kind of look she had. The way she knows something’s wrong but not fully knowing what it is.
I hope we can see a little of Chloe in the game, even by mentions, pictures, videos or maybe a phone call? I really hope so, at least i hope we can choose if Arcadia was sacrificed or not, thank god there's no canon ending in Lis1

This brought back so many good memories. Life is Strange 2015 was my first platinum achievement, and now I have 98 😅. The first time I played it, I was in college, and now I'm in my early 30s. I can't wait to play as an adult, grown, and confident Max, and I can't wait to get into another dilemma that might lead to sacrificing something or someone 👀

12:29 does anyone recall a scene like this from true colors? I don’t remember true colors feeling nearly as atmospheric as the first two games. This scene IMO was vital to reassuring that LIFE IS STRANGE vibe.
If i’m remembering correctly, there’s some scenes that feel sorta like this but only when Alex sits and reflects, like in Chapter 1 at the record store when you can sit and listen to Scott Street on the record player. Other than that nope. Gonna replay it soon and see for myself.
I like how all the Life is Strange characters appear in other games. It really feels like a whole universe. Except for the protagonists from the second game. The guys don't appear ever again for some reason

So every time Max changed something, it should have resulted in altered ending. Instead what we got was every change but one leading to the same ending. Played to the most extreme watering Lisa or not should have altered the ending. That's obviously easy to extreme to do but the fact that everything change no matter how big it how small always leads to a tornado spits in the face of chaos theory. Therefore something other than chaos theory is at work to bring about the tornado. Personally I'm either in the camp that ghost Rachel caused it after hearing Chloe's angry tirade at the lighthouse at the end of EP 1, or it's a supernatural fight between the "Evil Max" and the "Chloe" that are in the diner in your nightmare. Or maybe even just evil max. But NOT chaos theory. It also just feels like such a last minute things that was out in to force you to make the final decision rather than an understanding you developed organically while playing the game.
@@49HEALTH I didn't think the double moon is gonna be anything particular ominous. We have seen that one of Max's new powers let's her look into the otherworld while staying in her correct world. The people and things on the other world are also cooked colored for whatever reason. I think the reason she sees to moons is because she's looking into the otherworld and that their moon is just in a slightly different position from the moon in her world. Nothing ominous or sinister about it.
I really hope chloe is still hanging out in new york during this, please at least give us a phone call cameo between them if you're leaving chloe out for the sake of continuity between both lis endings

Max looks different but we have to keep in mind that he is already 28 years old, and the truth is that the change in the graphics engine is also very noticeable, a great advance. And regarding the story mm I have a good feeling, both in the opening sequence, the ambient music, the moment when you start to notice strange things, it reminds me a little of the first life. I don't know what will come of this but as a fan, it feels so good to see Max again. Another interesting point is the moment when Max reveals why he left everything behind. I don't know, I liked it, safe purchase.

I think that the person Max sees shortly before discovering Safi dead is Max herself, same build (you can see it when they hug), with their backs turned and wearing a hat... it almost seems like a directorial choice

After seeing Max again, I think I fell in love with a fictional character for the second time, this is because of your person, Max, kindness, charisma and other good qualities that made me fall in love with Max's figure
Im concerned that we are only playing as Max for nostalgia bait. There needs to be depth and a constructef reason for why we are playing as Max once again. Dont get me wrong, im happy as hell that she's back but if the game is just another story that has Max in it then it would just feel shallow and and it would be a wasted opportunity to bring back one of the most beloved character in the series.

The line is there mainly to clue newcomers in that something really bad happened in Max’s past, which hopefully would convince them to play the original game for full context. Either way, it’s still subtle enough that a casual player can still enjoy the game without confusion, compared to other sequels where it’s pretty much essential to play the previous games for story reasons.
Also, it’s as if Oregon and Seattle are connected. Those are the places that max, Daniel, and Alex got their powers. Maybe this entity could be in that area? I don’t believe this entity is a bad thing if it really exists though.
Some entity feeding off suffering and behind people's powers, that's basically the plot of Madoka Magica, has similar plot points as Life is Strange

People react to someone dying in front of them in different ways. Some freak out externally, others more internally. I think inside Max is just screaming “Not again!” over and over.
That and the most likely reason is that because she has learned to lock away her powers for quite a long time, this might mean she composed herself to try and keep her emotions in check to prevent her power from coming back…

if chloe is relegated to having surprise appearance like david in lis2, then i dont think i'll be interested in this game. that clearly shows the developers have no understanding of the significance of her and the choice that we had to make in lis1. they will not in fact be respecting the both choices. what might be interesting with that however is if you choose bay and she makes an appearance in the other world! that could be really cool. but if you picked bae and all we get is a cameo. than that'll just be a pass for quite a few people i believe.

From a certain point of view the fact that Arcadia Bay is destroyed and a Chloe who is alive but also has become a stranger in Max's life in the 10 years since is "respecting our choices". The fact that max's new bestie didn't know who Chloe is 6 months into their friendship is extremely worrisome.
The ending in LiS1 was still divisive. All the story build up of helping ppl and they die in the end, or have everything you did reversed but sacrifice your friend’s life?
I still feel like one of the biggest mysteries from LIS1 was Nathan's rich dad. The letters he left behind had some weird stuff that implied something more happening. Always felt their was more to the Prescott story. I do hope they focus on more than the murder mystery. It was about growth, change, things we could all relate too. Friends, anxieties and so much more. Max has went through a lot since she left and I hope we get to explore this with her.

Crazy this franchise is hitting 10 years old. I’m pretty proud of the developers for really making a “finalized” aesthetic through the different Life is Strange stories - and this feels really realized.
I really like Max's reaction to Safi's death, like the built up the sad and "Not again" kind of look she had. The way she knows something’s wrong but not fully knowing what it is.
I wonder if the headaches she is having are a side effect of not using her powers for years

This brought back so many good memories. Life is Strange 2015 was my first platinum achievement, and now I have 98 😅. The first time I played it, I was in college, and now I'm in my early 30s. I can't wait to play as an adult, grown, and confident Max, and I can't wait to get into another dilemma that might lead to sacrificing something or someone 👀

Crazy to see Max again after nine years
I'm actually liking it because:
1. The graphics looks good
2. The style and overall LIS vibe is here
3. The story is intriguing
12:29 does anyone recall a scene like this from true colors? I don’t remember true colors feeling nearly as atmospheric as the first two games. This scene IMO was vital to reassuring that LIFE IS STRANGE vibe.
If i’m remembering correctly, there’s some scenes that feel sorta like this but only when Alex sits and reflects, like in Chapter 1 at the record store when you can sit and listen to Scott Street on the record player. Other than that nope. Gonna replay it soon and see for myself.

Here is the definition of chaos theory:
the branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behavior is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences.
So every time Max changed something, it should have resulted in altered ending. Instead what we got was every change but one leading to the same ending. Played to the most extreme watering Lisa or not should have altered the ending. That's obviously easy to extreme to do but the fact that everything change no matter how big it how small always leads to a tornado spits in the face of chaos theory.
Therefore something other than chaos theory is at work to bring about the tornado. Personally I'm either in the camp that ghost Rachel caused it after hearing Chloe's angry tirade at the lighthouse at the end of EP 1, or it's a supernatural fight between the "Evil Max" and the "Chloe" that are in the diner in your nightmare. Or maybe even just evil max. But NOT chaos theory.
It also just feels like such a last minute things that was out in to force you to make the final decision rather than an understanding you developed organically while playing the game.
@@49HEALTH I didn't think the double moon is gonna be anything particular ominous. We have seen that one of Max's new powers let's her look into the otherworld while staying in her correct world. The people and things on the other world are also cooked colored for whatever reason. I think the reason she sees to moons is because she's looking into the otherworld and that their moon is just in a slightly different position from the moon in her world. Nothing ominous or sinister about it.

Max looks different but we have to keep in mind that he is already 28 years old, and the truth is that the change in the graphics engine is also very noticeable, a great advance. And regarding the story mm I have a good feeling, both in the opening sequence, the ambient music, the moment when you start to notice strange things, it reminds me a little of the first life. I don't know what will come of this but as a fan, it feels so good to see Max again. Another interesting point is the moment when Max reveals why he left everything behind. I don't know, I liked it, safe purchase.

Im concerned that we are only playing as Max for nostalgia bait. There needs to be depth and a constructef reason for why we are playing as Max once again. Dont get me wrong, im happy as hell that she's back but if the game is just another story that has Max in it then it would just feel shallow and and it would be a wasted opportunity to bring back one of the most beloved character in the series.
i understand not being able to use her rewind powers (because they cause huge storms), but i hope at least we can use the photo powers ad get to know what happened with chloe/arcadia bay and stuff. really excited to see how this turns out!
