With all that I have learned from viewing several of your videos and much consideration, I purchased this Bible. This is my first premium Bible and I had no idea how fun it would be to get a premium Bible. Joy is an excellent word to describe my experience. Thank you Mr. Wildsmith!
I j recently picked up an old NRSV Spiritual Formation Bible that is single column format (sans reference, glued) that is so easy to read and now I really want one of these premiers.
Just so you know Mr. Wildsmith… I totally blame you and this video for turning me on to the NRSV. LOL. I’m an evangelical Christian and the beauty of this video and bible got me interested in the NRSV. I DO NOT OWN THIS ONE YET. But I was gifted a NRSV Zondervan large print Thinline. I’ve been working through the ‘issues’ people tend to have with it. Now I own it in Accordance, the terrible Word at Hand app, and Tecarta and I just picked up a mint Oxford Annotated NRSV. I’m CSB primary but the NRSV is quickly becoming my #2 translation. And my #1 word for word. Thanks for your work Bro.
I was glad to hear that you like the New Revised Standard Version. I have one from Cambridge which is some leaning toward more anglicized verses and not the gender thing so I'm looking forward to taking a look at that. I love your channel and make a lot of decisions based on what you say. So I appreciate it and I thank you alot Tim. God bless you.
Great review-thanks! QUESTION: I currently use an Allan ESV SCR and love the layout because I can write plenty of notes. I want to buy either this Bible or the new Cambridge NRSV-which one would you say is more conducive to writing/notes? Based on binding alone, I'd buy the goatskin Cambridge (even at twice the price), but if the Zondervan Premier is more functional, I'll go that way. Thanks again!
Hmmmmm.... that's an interesting question. There is certainly more space in margins in this one from Zondervan that there is in the Cambridge editions, so if space for writing is your primary concern then I would go with this one.
NRSV without the deuterocanonical books is like the New Testament without Jesus. I really hope both the publisher of the Premier Collection and Schuyler put out the NRSV with the deuterocanonical books. God bless
I feel Schuyler Bibles caused a wave in Bible quality to increase world wide. If you look at the pattern you can see ever since Schuyler came out and received it’s fan base the other companies seemed to realize we don’t want cheap materials and that we will pay for a better Bible.
My Dear Sir, Thank You for a fine review. I take your point that there is not much available in the premium Bible market for the NRSV however, my experience with the Zondervan Premier NIV last year was less than satisfactory. After 3 months of normal use the text block separated from the back cover somewhere around Rev 20, consequently l’ve moved on to Schuyler & back to Cambridge. There’s no doubt that this Bible looks very nice & appears to fill a need, but until l see more reviews on Amazon & elsewhere, my advise is, “Buyer Beware.” Blessings Rev John Wilderspin, BA, ThM
Thanks for this video, Tim. I recently purchased this Bible. There isn't a lot of choice if you want a premium NRSV bible--can't get a new Allan NRSV-1--and I think Zondervan filled in the gap. The Anglican Church of Canada uses this translation, and so I use it when planning morning prayers. I tend to spend significant time in the NRSV and the ESV. The purple touch is nice and the bold text combined with the single column makes for easy reading. It is a shame that the deuterocanonical books were not included, as readings from these texts occasionally appear in the Revised Common Lectionary. Again, a great premium Bible. I'm also looking forward to seeing what Schuyler will do with NRSV when it comes out with its version--most likely a Quentel--in 2022. I wonder if it will used the updated editon (NRSV-ue). Cheers and thank you for this ministry.
Thanks so much, Tim! Do you know if the leather soft version comes with the same text block (paper and printing)? I really prefer the size of the NKJV premier. I tend to max out at 9x6. Thanks for any response, and I love your reviews and your emphasis on small but readable Bibles!! Chris
Nice review! But who's been keeping that Bible stored upright? It's starting to crease at the bottom! 😰 Good catch on the tapered line in the Gospels and Acts. Part of me thinks it's a design oops, like maybe they were going to use that one, then changed their mind and no one caught it. Be cool if they had a reason though.
The NRSV is my primary translation, so it's very cool to see another premium NRSV coming out. This was a great overview!
Thanks!

Wow... this is so encouraging to hear, Leonard! Thank you so much!
Great video Tim, your reviews are among my favourite bible reviews. Keep up the great work, God bless.
Thanks, Liam!!

I have this Bible and I really like it. The smell is strong. However, I like it. I’m hoping Schuyler comes out with an nrsv soon
I love accent colours.I have an NASB in this format. Maybe my favourite.

Hey Jeremiah! I love this. Glad you’re branching out and exploring something new!
Brilliant review! Just pre-ordered mine from Amazon UK.
Awesome... and thank you!
Thanks for the excellent review! I have now ordered this Bible.
Awesome... I hope you enjoy it!
I REALLY like this one! I haven’t read the NRSV very often, but this is a beautiful Bible. Well done! ❤️
I know a guy who can let you borrow one!

Thanks, Gleason!
Like the bold FONT
Wonder about gutter however.
That purple really stands out, but would have preferred double column. Certainly a nice Bible though!
It's a striking Bible for sure!
I really like the Nelson Premier bibles. Second only to Schuyler.
Really hoping they reformat the NASB the same way. It took them a few tries, but they really nailed this one overall!
Agreed. This one feels great.

They're doing it so well!
Thanks Tim!
You're welcome!
This one or the purple one ?

Thanks for sharing, John. You might want to check with Zondervan about a warranty.

You’re welcome! I think Schuyler is waiting for the update before they do NRSV Quentel.
@@timwildsmith That would be great if Schuyler uses the NRSV update for the Quentel. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with!

Hey Chris! The leathersoft is the exact same text block.
Beautiful.
Indeed!
It looks awesome! Too bad it doesn’t have the apocrypha.
Are there any Catholic single column bibles lile this?
Has NRSV since updated this Bible? You mentioned it is still from I believe 1989? Thanks
This is Zondervan's Bible... I'm sure they'll do some new NRSV editions with the updated text eventually.
I grew up on (Old) RSV. I haven't read NRSV yet.
It's a solid translation.

👍🏼
Why is NRSV a good version over others? Thank you.
Not necessarily better... but I like it for readability... in the middle of the translation spectrum.
When does new NRSV come out? Worth wait?
Scheduled for next year sometime.
@@timwildsmith THANKS. Tim..I really like the purple one you reviewed. Like the size. And content.
Beautiful bible
I hope they drop in price soon 😅 176 + taxes are a bit too much for a made in china premium bible
Try shopping around online. I've seen it offered for around $135 from a couple of places.
Is THIS or Cambridge version best?
Both are great!
What is font size please
I think it’s a 10pt… give the video a watch to confirm.
