Glyn, if you ever have cold lambs even with your heat lamps, Sandi Brock is a Canadian sheep farmer and she uses a long glove to put the lamb in so it keeps mum's smell etc, then put the lamb in a bucket of warm water for about 10-15 minutes until the temperature registers 37 degrees celcius and they drink a bottle. She's found that sometimes, if a lamb won't drink, it's because their temperature is too low. Her sheep are indoors all the time, so a different setup to you, but every cold lamb saved is more money come sale time.
@johnh1353 I am well aware of that, but farmers like everyone else are always learning. I just made a suggestion that I have seen another farmer use, and they can do what they want with the information.
We watch all you videos, and enjoy you and your dad's input, really appreciate you taking the time during lambing season to make additional videos, keep up the good work!!
Great when farmers share solutions with each other...that sieve solution was simple but brilliant as was your idea for catching fluids while lambing. If that lamb with the deformed pelvis is still alive, perhaps put him in with your other pets for company. I think you're the best sheep vlogger on TH-cam, with the beautiful countryside, the number of sheep you have and your priceless Dad! I hope the weather improves for you soon!
Hi Glyn, wow 2 videos in one weekend. Can't imagine all of the work and stress to deal with all of the Sheep lambing Singles, Twins and Triplets. It sure keeps everyone busy. It is nice that you keep the weaker lambs as pets to give them a shot at life. Nature can be cruel so glad you give them a second chance. It was great footage of the 2 lambs playing together and just enjoying life. Congratulations on getting the Automatic Door to help keep the weather from inside the shed. It looks nice and should make a big difference. Best wishes for the rest of the Lambing Season.
Great video/content Guys 👍 Glad you got your roller door fitted especially in this bliddy weather 👍 Aww the wee lambs jumping around 🥰 Have good one Guys ❤
Was waiting like a child on that video and didn’t disappoint, can feel your appreciation when you get something new, them doors are awesome, you’ll never regret it providing dad doesn’t put the tine through it lol. You really need to organise someone to do the editing for next lambing and do a daily update, views will be through the roof, bound to get a good return on it.
Try and put some home made splits around the back legs and wrap them up with tape. I have seen this done also Sandi Brock makes her own splits and she has lot of luck with the splits!❤😊 You could also watch The Sheep Game to learn how he saves lambs!😊❤
Good man Glynn flying it lad your a pro in the sheeping game from what I see best channel out there goes right into the depths 👍 I'm far from a farmer or near any farm , I'd love to visit the farm some time put in a shift with ye 👍
Love the roller door makes some difference even looking from the yard now ya need to put in an access door now so ya don't have to keep opening amd closing it
Great video Glyn, i had a calf like that a few years ago one back leg paralysed, tie the two back legs together about 3" apart for a month or two n it might help, worked with the calf no full recovery but able to get around n thrive
Glyn I bought a 18" square potting tray from a garden center it has a 2" lopsided and 6" high side the other half. You can soak a pair of lambs in it no both. It's a great job for a rub on Foster. Glyn the weather is the worst I have seen this time of year North East Antrim. Great video coverage. I lambed at Christmas and January so lambs are well on their way. Rab.
Well Glyn . The slagging and craic between you and your dad is what keeps ye sane in this cuntish weather and hard work. Broke a front spring in my jeep saturday and of course it had to cut a new tire off in the process. Had to change it today Outside in the wind and rain and of course every bolt and nut fought a good battle. My son gave me a hand and the slagging and craic got us through it easier👍
Welcome back my friend and as always beautiful sharing adventure documentary countryside content video and I really appreciate and enjoy watching your lifestyle documentary video channel and you guys bonded so well and doing such an amazing job .. million thanks again and have a wonderful blessing weekend from Montreal QC Canada
Special offers in our local Sainsbury's this week, a half price, whole leg of lamb In fact, they had all the roasts on special offer, so my mum bought the leg of lamb, £12.50, but no, sadly, these things happen with all species. You win some, you lose some. I think some animals know when their babies aren't going to thrive and they either, throw them out or put an end to them quickly. I saw it with baby wallabies and others on the Animal Park series, the latest two 6 and 7 are on youtube.
Brilliant .Gynn try some vitamin E on the lamb ,keep him warm and dry .That door is mighty , aye its hard to get the old men to dip into the deep pockets . Id say that door would even keep Politicians out 😂. Real lambing ,done by real shepherds , first class attention to detail ,none of this Easy Care No Care nonsense. Good luck
Sunday night here ....Yellow weather warning for rain... So then why are Co ops in the South East of the country providing Feed Aid to Dairy Farmers ..30 Euro subsidy per ton of Feed ordered.. Do sheep farmers not deserve the same given the conditions at the moment for them also..??
I think that lamb that is out on it's back feet has spina bifida - just looking at him and the condition we can see of his back - does he even has a suck reflex?
Well glyn what would cause 1 lamb to be paralysed and the other lamb was ok u sucking and went out this morning and he was dead if u know would be great for ur answer
Am I right in thinking you speak a bit of Irish? As some words been hearing you saying like what you were calling the lamb that was paralysed in the hind quarter sounds very like something we say in gaelic when talking about a poor soul
How things I had a lamb just like yours back legs no power but Lord stop he was a great lamb he went sukin with no help as I said to dad a lamb with 4 legs would need help sukin so don't give up on him yet there's potential 💯
“You can have it yourself” 😂

Sandi is just finishing her holiday in Scotland and back in Canada today..
Sandi Brock has a lot of tips on how to save newborn lambs and also how to manage different jobs around her business! You will like her!😊❤
This family has been farming these lands for decades, they know what they're doing
@johnh1353 I am well aware of that, but farmers like everyone else are always learning. I just made a suggestion that I have seen another farmer use, and they can do what they want with the information.

Lambing 2024 has officially started
👍👍
👌
👍
Swayback or Schmallenberg with the poor lamb?
no none of them
Mighty. You can't bate the bit of a fry up with ewe juice! ;)
😅😅👍
If you had a hydraulic toplink for your tractor you could lift your bales higher. Stay on better I think
be careful of the heat lamp so close to the sheep and straw I caused a fire because of that and it still haunts me
👍
Nice video 👌
