I don't think Rajini was ever cast in a movie this brilliantly. This was the best ever casting of Rajini ever. No body could have brought this much comedy to that character. How sad we lost such a brilliant and funny actor to the masala movies.
@@rajabs6185 Rajini acted well in those movies you mentioned fine. But, this one needed a funny guy with funny mannerisms to bring all the comedy to life. So, Rajini was just toooo apt for the character. The scenes where he enjoyed the soccer match, where he managed to confuse Thengai's thinking by mentioning the moustache, where he moved away when Madhavi went to hug etc were sooo funny. I have heard that the original Hindi version was more funny. But, without any disrespect, I don't think Amol Palekar would have been more apt for this character. I don't know what others think of Rajini. In my opinion, I think he is best in comedy and funny romance- Not the best in action and character roles. Veera is another movie I think he was the correct casting for the character.

Sivaji and Rajini can adapt to any role comfortably and effortlessly.

Watching Thillu Mullu on Aha OTT. Never get bored of this movie. So hilarious. Super Star really has a great sense of humour. I wish he does another comedy like this. Sowcar Janaki, Thengai Srinivasan, Poornam Vishwanathan were all so cute in this movie.
