You have the Super Thanks option now! I haven't logged on to social media in a while but just wanted to say thanks for all past videos! You are a great inspiration! 🤗
Im excited for this. There's so much on offer and i have been looking at investing in long term use items. The bears i thought i missed out on. Been looking for a balance beam. I am comfortable with allowing H to use the bedframe because it is padded but we need something safe for downstairs. Have had that block set on our list especially nowwe that she has been making different shapes out of the regular blocks but that set is more creative ther verity in shapes and colours will give her more opportunity. I definitely recommend the kitchen for everyone with a child aaayyy any age but a toddler. I relied on the freedom and independence it gave her especially now she can get her own cutlery and dishes from the dishwasher and set evrything up for herself from start to finish. It is so beneficial to reduce the dependency struggle throughout the day moments of independence are so important. Awwhhhh I'm glad she liked the plane ride. Those sticker books do look nice. I will lokk into it more now that i noticed she liked the Montessori number and shape work book and the sticker book that came with her meal which i didn't expect she would be wanting to complete following the guidelines of the activities in it but she really was keen on figuring it out for a full 45 minutes. Then strated to put stickers on our different body parts which was fun too. A good cafe trip. Need to fund some good Montessori aligned ones though if you have them listed? Thank you again these are so helpful as i forget what we already have and feel overwhelmed by preparing more for the future.
Aw I'm glad to hear this was helpful! I don't see those bears not being of interest anytime soon 😅 And the creative stones have definitely gotten more and more use lately and I imagine they'll be around for a long while too! I have the Priddy "first animals" sticker book listed, and I saw there's a few in that series. The stickers are all real images similar to the book series, so it's definitely far more Montessori aligned than our Pororo sticker books 🥰
Lone your channel. Bought many of the toys from your Amazon storefront for my 19 month old. Can’t wait to see him play and learn and refine his skills. Thank you for all the great suggestions!
Hi! I lost track of your question, I'm sorry! I'll definitely work on a video regarding praise! But I think a very important aspect that gets overlooked in the Montessori at home sphere is...we are not against praise. In trying to explain that we want to protect the child's inner satisfaction and internal motivation, it has started to sound like Montessorians try not to praise at all. I've seen people ask if it's ok to clap when their baby claps at them, and that truly broke my heart. We want to be conscientious of the type of language we're using, acknowledging effort and process over product, and being more specific than just "good job," and not praise them for every little thing when it's not needed but in the early days....every little thing IS an accomplishment and it IS effort on their part and they ARE looking to us to see our reaction and to share that joy with us! I always say to think about how you as the adult feel. When I submitted large projects at work only to be met with "good job", it truly didn't mean anything. I spent my evenings and weekends on this and you're not even going to look at it enough to say something specific that you liked? BUT I also would prefer a "good job" over nothing because hey, I worked really hard on that, at least acknowledge that I did something, right? But the most meaningful type of praise would've been "I know you had to put in a lot of extra time to get this done and I appreciate the effort to make it easy to navigate and full of information". That's still praise-but it is thoughtful. For a child who just learned how to walk, of course we're going to praise them for taking their first steps! It could just be a big smile, a huge clap, an "OMG look you're walking!" or it very well may be a "GOOD JOB BABY!" That's ok! But if we consider say, a typically developing 5 year old who has been walking for the past 4 years with no issues....it would be silly to look to them and say "you're walking! good job!" THAT's the level of praise (which believe it or not does exist) that we are trying to bring awareness for parents to reconsider.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your view on toddler toys. Can you explain more in detail about the YOTO player and how you can add audio/music of different languages? I am having trouble finding that option on their website.
Excellent recommendations- many that I haven’t seen before. Does your toddler get fussy when the Yoto needs to be put away? I love the concept but worry that it may become a smartphone training toy.
Hi! We have the Yoto out at all times-it's always available as a way for her to listen to music. But since that's the only main thing it does (aside from being a timer), she's not using it all day everyday and it hasn't become anything close to a smartphone or tablet style toy. We've had it for almost 2 years now (this video is almost a year old) and that's remained true. Our daughter is now nearing 3.5 and we don't have a tablet or smartphone for her to use and remain very low screen time (a 15-20 minute show together ones every few weeks, if that). If anything, not having to use our own technology to get the music on for her and having the Yoto instead has decreased her interest in our phones, tablets, etc. The Yoto is pretty "old school" in the sense that nothing is moving or animated. There's a pixel picture to show what song is being selected that fades after a few seconds, and that's it.
At what age did your daughter become interested in building? My son just turned 2 and isn’t really interested. He’s most interested in all things cars and trains. We have blocks, the Lego set in your video and Megatiles.
She was interested on and off from about 18 months, mainly with MegaBlocks with her dad! By 2 she was more drawn to building Duplos with us and experimenting in her own. Magnatiles were mainly for other discoveries like matching or color mixing or helping us build until closer to 2.5 or so! She's 3 now and is very inti Lego and Magnatiles for independent building but still very rarely is interested in regular blocks 🤷♀️ I did a lot of different set ups to show her all that is possible with these items to give her some ideas, like rolling balls down a ramp into standing Magnatiles or driving cars over Magnatile roads!
We received ours as a gift for her first birthday and have continued to use it to this day (approaching 3.5 years now!) We got the most daily use from it from about 12 month to 30 months, I'd say.
Dear parents! Let the kids choose their favourite toys and souvenir toys!!! When the kids are very good, then they deserve toys. Every good behaviour kid should have plush toys, legos, puzzles, figures, dolls, souvenir toys, toys from cartoons, balls, table games, blocks, cars, outside toys and etc. Please buy only those toys, what the kids very want!!!! I know many toys and souvenir toys are very expensive, but when the kids are very good all the times, then sometimes they deserve these things!!! Please be kind parents and make Your kids very happy with these toys, what the kids have chosen and don’t say NO all the times, when the kids very deserves those toys for good behaviour!!! Respectfully, Astra Viil ❤🙏🥰
The downer in all this is the poor ecological practice of providing these (mostly) plastic toys to just one young human. I wonder how many of items toys get used again rather than tossed following their short stint with the child.
They're not mostly plastic at all and we still use all of these. Obviously after she will eventually outgrow any of these toys, the natural result is not tossing them- they will be kept for any future siblings, passed down to friends, or moved into my class to be used by even more kids.

Hey there hun, I would love to see a video from you about how not to over praise your child …it’s something I’m trying to apply with my 14 month old

I truly do not understand the amount of subscribers. You are so knowledgeable and enjoyable to watch. 🤎
Thank you so much 🤍 When I started 2 years ago I thought I'd have figured out the algorithm by now but apparently not 😅
Just found this channel today searching for Montessori gifts for my toddler and baby.
I agree! Your videos are so easy to watch and always informative and straight to the point
So glad you found it!
Oh gosh thank you! It'd be great to see my channel grow but that is the exact type of videos I had hoped I was making!
