    Love these videos! Does anyone know where she gets her baskets? I've been looking everywhere!

    • @HapaFamily
      @HapaFamily  4 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      My little oval ones are actually bread baskets from a restaurant supply store. If you search on Amazon for “bread baskets”, you’ll see lots of them that are similar. However, a more direct and easy way to find them is through this Montessori supply company website that I’ve purchased things from before! The company is fabulous, and they’re actually well-priced! :) www.montessoriservices.com/preparing-the-environment/baskets?nsearch=fsh_link

      Ikea has a nice bundle of 3 baskets that I use at home. Etsy also has several that I use and LOVE. Thrift stores are also a great place to find some. Pink Montessori is a Montessori supply company I like and they have some there also.

    The little girl I nanny for is 14 months and I was just looking up activities to do with her, and I have to say I’m very encouraged because these are all things I’m already doing but didn’t have a label to it. It’s very helpful to know I’m on track developmentally! I taught 4-5 year olds so I’m used to doing activities for that age. My own baby girl is 22 weeks in the belly so I’m thankful for all the education I’m getting through my nanny family and learning about Montessori techniques! (They are all about it and have all the Lovevery toys so that’s a huge benefit too!)

    So beautiful to see you engage in your kids. I am from the year 1954 and my mother survived and we as 5 kids had hardly any toys and we had to amuse ourselves and if we did not then the message was: go run around the house and stop fussing. I was bored to death and found out later it was a form of neglect. So keep up the good parenting! You will bond so good now and in later years.

  • @giorgiaperotti9517
    @giorgiaperotti9517 4 ปีที่แล้ว +47

    Thank you SO much for the message about not comparing your child and every child being on their own developmental track. As a first time mom to a 13 month old, I have ended up doing this so many times and it only ends up making me feel like a failure and making me wonder what I’ve done wrong. But I’ve let that all go because all the milestones thus far that my son needed to hit, he has and in his own time. I’ve learned that personality plays such a big role and their interest in certain activities. Sometimes they just don’t care or want to do something and that’s why they haven’t yet. It’s just such an important message for moms and I appreciate you adding that to the end of your video!!👍

    • @tianacookies7927

      Yes I can feel that. My 13 month old isn’t waking yet and we’re trying so hard to encourage her to do so. She doesn’t really like her baby push walker either. We just keep trying!

I love that you showed the various motor skills they'll likely be doing. Thank you!

    I love Montessori so much! Thank you Ashley, you're doing a great job! My baby boy is turning 12months next month and he's already been helping me around the house, he follows me all the time and watch what I am doing. He helps me to push his laundry basket to his room where we fold and put them away. He's starting to feed himself with a fork and sometimes spoon, he helps me to do dishes of course he's just there observing and playing in the water😅i must confess that I struggling with the idea of things getting too messy. I'm trying to help myself from stepping in and either cleaning up or preventing the mess🙈. I do find that he's more interested in what I am doing sometimes rather than playing with his toys. My home is not 100% montessori because I'm not able to make certain adjustments but I try to ensure he gets at least the basics. Your girls are amazing, you have a wonderful family and I appreciate all the knowledge that you guys share with us every week!!👍

    Hi Ashley! Our babies are about the same age and I'm always looking for the next video to start preparing activities for my now 15 month old (april 2019). I wanted to ask you if you have a video about how you present and model the activities to your toddlers, if you correct or re-model, how to know when it's time to rotate and how to read the signs they give us when the activity is maybe too daunting, or too boring. In case you haven't done it, I think it would be truly helpful for a lot of us. I am really looking forward to the next video on this series, as we're about to enter the next big stage! I'm excited!! haha Greetings from Canada! :)

    Thank you for your videos. i ve been inspired by Montessori before having my boy but even more excited to apply it. because of your video , I was inspired to make him drink from a glass and use a spoon. now at 10 months he can safely take the cup and put it down gently , and we are working on the spoon lol.
    Thank you for showing me what is possible! I didnt even think babies could be introduced to things like that. Thanks for spreading awareness!!!! you re awesome !

    I'm so glad I've seen this I feel like I've been so caught up with surviving I just forgot I have a little toddler now and not a baby and that's why she doesn't want to play anymore when I'm doing stuff she just wants to help me do stuff and see what it is I'm doing. Thank you for making these videos they always remind me to take a step back breathe and see things clearly again.

    Hello! I live in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.I love that great speech on parenting you have made.I am a mother of two children,my boy is 7 years old and my baby girl she's now 7 months.You drawn my attention to certain things that you said in that speech because my boy he is slightly autistic and I don't want to make the same mistake that I have made in the past in my child upbringing.Thank you for this lesson.😇🕊️🙏

    Thank you for adding the disclaimer at the end about developmental rates of children around the same age. I feel like it is my negligence that is why my child may not be at some of the mile stones, but what you mention about interest and coming back to things in a few weeks tracks with how my kiddo is developing.

    My daughter just turned one and her FAVORITE thing for months has been helping me switch the laundry. It's the cutest thing. She goes in the washer and pulls the clothes out one piece at a time and I put them in the dryer and she just loves it. She also tries cleaning the counter but that doesn't quite work, but it's fun for her and fun for me to watch.
    I worry constantly about whether she's on track developmentally though, but I think I might be just overly paranoid. I see a lot of babies her age that can walk and already know a few words, and she doesn't so I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Maybe I am, I don't know, but I think I just need to relax and keep trying to teach her and just let it happen at her pace.

    Thank you so much for all the ideas and inspiration! I definitelly agree with what you say in the end, my almost 12 months is already walking and super interested in helping me clean around the house, but things that other babies do like climbing the stairs he has no interest in whatsoever! It’s been so fun following the child and exploring what he is interested in. Thank you for teaching me all of this Ashley!

    This video is so helpful, thanks for sharing! I'm impressed by your little 13-month-old. Watching these videos, I assumed she was older! Not trying to compare, just highlighting (as you did) how different every baby is. I can't wait to try some of these out. I also so appreciate actually seeing a baby do these activities. So often it's an adult modeling the activity!

  • @saharmasood1930

    Wow this is eye opening. I didn’t know a 13 month old can do all these activities. I’m usually pulling my daughter (12.5 month old) out of the kitchen, bathroom, etc. never thought to let her “help”. Very interesting

    Thanks for this video. I'm not committed to Montessori, though like your husband said in another video it's basically how my parents raised with the intent of independent kiddos. Anywho I had a feeling my son's toys were too young for him or I didn't have some for his age to continue his play learning life on a new level. This gave me some wonderful ideas. 😁
