my favorite champ/build in the game at the moment. I sometimes swap yomu for duskblade. One bit of advice though, do not W after you land with R. You are already enraged. Use it like a gap closer jump if needed or if you want/need to "chomp"

@@camielangston absolutely that is what I meant by "chomp". When you fed enough often R > Q > AAAAA is plenty to kill squishy in a blink of an eye. That leaves you not enraged (since your R target is dead) with W ready to use and "invisible" from duskblade. That presents a lot of options you can even retreat if you want or W another direction to dodge a skill shot and keep ploughing
I use the Q+W after R if I can instakill with the duskblade build. But in teamfights it's nice to be able to save the W to use after R.

Got briar lvl 7 at like 35k. This champ is extremely over tuned atm. She doesn’t really have a weakness if you learn to use her. W well

@@aryssobral Bro cc is every champs weakness lol. Not only that, I actually prefer the goredrink build over lethality and stridebreak (unpopular atm I know) . With goredrink or even stridebreak allows you to survive long enough to get those w cd resets and healing off. Now if you play lethality, then sure, cc could fuck your game up.
I mean, in terms of playstyle weaknesses, just play safe early, she won't get the gold she needs to hyperscale, and becomes useless.
In terms of champion weaknesses, Soraka is a super hard counter with her silence. Not being able to use q, W2, or e for 4 seconds, and then being snared is absolute killer. You can't even walk out of it if you're already in W. Most enchanter supports can do something similar. Also anyone with invisibility renders her W useless.
Item weaknesses, heal cut, everfrost, crown
She has so many weaknesses, its just a matter of the opposing team getting and using them correctly. If they blow all their cooldowns before you w in then of course you can kill.

@@ZKern7 Yeah, as long as Briar isn't showing up heavily in high elo and pro play, then its clear the problems aren't so much in her kit as the people playing around and against her. The only reason she's such a menace in solo queue is because of the lack of coordination and fundamental understanding of the game.
Safe playstyles are painful in solo queue because it involves trusting that your team will play accordingly, and in low elo relying on your teammates is so inconsistent. Everyone has large gaps in knowledge and champions like Briar take advantage of that friction to stomp. On the other hand, games where teams decide to accept a single shot caller and play around their calls, assuming they didn't absolutely troll champ select have a much more likely chance of succeeding.

So she's the opposite of nocturne, she wants lethality items which aren't recommended and nocturne wants bruiser items that aren't recommended, you'd think their items would have a play rate/win rate checker on them, it's crazy

ive played a ton of briar since she came and i tried both build, i feel like with lethality youre much better in the early game and in 1v1s as you shred people so fast but in team fights you die super quickly cuz they all focus you and you have no sustain. personaly i prefer bruiser briar cuz shes already a 1v1 beast and with bruiser you also survive team fights better but i guess the win rates dont lie
I agree. Lethality is good but their is just something about bruiser that just feels so unfair. I dont mind it because i play it though XD

If you aren’t the first engage as lethality, it works better. I go lethality crit hybrid and I have 60% WR over 200+ games on her. Bruiser feels very underwhelming if they know how to build against you imo
i still prefer bruiser crit briar with stridebreaker, mortal reminder, aegis ( into gargoyles later) shieldbow or blood thirster and what ever other bruiser items the game requires. And just split push when dragons/baron are down during the mid/late game. No one can solo you so at the very least you make the team fights 4v3 in your favour and at best you just keep killing anyone/two/three they send to stop you. Full lethality on 90% of characters really isn't worth the risk unless they have multiple escape tool...which briar does not.
Im not a fan of lethality either. Goredrink into cleaver still for me though. Stridebreak or gore are just way more consistent when it comes to solo queue.
Bruiser build I get but I thought that crit isn't as good anymore because her w doesn't crit or am I mistaken?
@@ernestosanchez163 havent played briar in a few weeks but shes auto attack based so unless there is a description on her W that says (auto attacks cannot crit while W is active) then she should still be able to crit. If youre referring to her chomp, then i don't know, but even then its her auto attacks crits that i find do the lions share of her damage in most fights.

Also I have used this build to climb from Iron 1 to Gold 4 on two accounts in OCE. Still have a ton to learn but having a noob stomper helps to 9v1.
U can reach emerald easily with her, Ive done. MAYBE EVEN diamond. Emerald players are as bad If not worse than silver

Because she’s a new champ so of course they have to balance her, she is crazy overpowered when she first came out
More than deserved nerfs. I wont solve the issues with her toxic kit. But at least it will help her become less meta.

I have been spamming those runes but i always go Eclipse just because i feel like it goes perfect with her Hail of blades, makes her proc it insta, I went 24/1/7 today and 33/10/11 3days ago, Champ is legit not balanced with Hail of blades + lethality

2:39 I (Iron II fml) *want* to main Briar, but I've played 20 ranked games since she has been released. Out of those 20 games I have tried picking her literally every single game and I've played her TWICE. Every other game she either gets first picked by enemy jng or banned. Every. other. Game. I've mental boomed so hard I don't think I will play ranked again until either she gets nerfed enough that her pick/ban rate drops or riot releases the next 200 years jungler to take the pick/bans over her. As someone who genuinely mains and enjoys playing this champion for her kit, I am begging riot to just balance her so that people can actually stop playing her just to farm elo bc of how overtuned she is or whatever else

I main her too (M7 110,000 mp), and I want more nerfs. We need her to stop being pick/ban in games so we can actually play her consistently XDD
same, but the tank buffs are going to be brutal next season. Her base hp really needs a buff for her to ever be viable in lane again
@@ThinkCreativeIy agreed. People get mad at her having the capacity to do what the average toplane bruiser does well. I don’t think she’s anywhere close to viable in lane, as most of her worst matchups are stat diffs since she stays checks as well.
@@theproletariat7983 I like playing in lane, but her base stats have gotten so bad I started seeing more success mid rather than toplane where she was meant to secondary. Most matchups toplane are downright unplayable now, but alas, low elo at least isn’t getting their head bashed in by an 8/0 lethality briar every other game. It’s funny how bad players int into Briar, and blame the champion when 80% of toplaners and junglers do almost the same thing but better, but I would prefer her to get the Mundo treatment then have her at a 30+% ban rate until the end of time
@@ThinkCreativeIy yeahhhhh. I’ve liked her more in mid than top since launch honestly. Top felt undoable from the outset if she got counterpicked. Tbh I learned jungle to play her bc she really struck a chord for me. I wish you luck in your briar laning tho 🫡

Yes, there are plenty of people that do it much, much worse, but this was still enough to be uncomfortable for a few portions in the later half - bonus points for commenting that using an app that tracks jungle respawns felt like cheating while playing on a smurf.
