That has got to be one of the biggest sparks on a stationary engine especially an air cooled, no doubt that one's gonna be running anytime now loving this little bsa I might have me one of those 👍
getting there it will go ,don't need to plug that in do a diagnostic, how's the lister start o matic coming on? mine is running still trying to locate condensors and rectifier, going to collect another spare alternator on thursday that i found on ebay, keep up the good work
The last time I had a fuel tap loose like that I just put it in a jar covered it in petrol, left it for a couple of days to soak in to the cork and it was fine, hasn't leaked since. 👍
please leave it as it is oily rag keep the pertina its show the history you could of use a oil filter wrench to remove pulley but you got a result either way it needed removing. Keep up the entertainment love you video's
Not wanting too tell my grandmother how too suck eggs... but rather than use the cooling fins to stop the engine spinning when your loosening the pulley nut.... its often safer too feed a bit of rope into the spark plug hole to stop the piston going up the cylinder and temporarily lock the engine in place 👍
A pity about the pulley, but, if that's the worst of your troubles with this engine, I'd say it's a fair trade off. What I want to see is smoke from the exhaust! I want to hear 🙉 a put-put-putting sound. Roll the credits!!
Just take the plunger with the cork from the tap, you don't need to touch the cork. Then put it in boiling water for a minute. That should restore the dried out cork back to its original.
Well I got it to run without spending anything on it. So why am I cowboy?? The whole idea of the channel is to try and ger stuff running with what's there. 😀
Oily rag. Thought you might like to look at video I stumbled upon. It is a Dutch chap, who has a 1913 Crude oil engine. Fascinating watch!

Plenty of corks in port bottles Adam 🍷
Search "1913 Crude Oil Engine." In 3 parts, includes making cast iron piston rings. Enjoy you good ol' boi!!!
