    Man you make it look so effortless. I get scared in low rates doing a right hand turn nose in. I seem to loose control every time. I am flying the OMP M2 V2 and the M1. I have only been seriously learning since June of this year. I flew blade micro helicopters a few year back but never mastered it. I could use a coach.

    Hey man, great videos. One question, I have a Protos 380 Light v2 already fitted with the POM dampeners, compared to my Oxy 4 max the 380 doesn't stop as hard in Rainbows, etc. Do you thin that switching to the metal blade grip would make a big difference ? I ask you since you have been flying both version.

    Thanks for sharing! Beautiful ❤️ are you using the egodrift? If so what kv and pinion. I lowered the timing on mine to 7 on the HW ESC. Still a little hot.

    Are you running the speed up tail pulley? Suprised at 900kv you’re running 23 pulley on motor must run over 3k headspeed a lot as 21 gets you to 2900 with 20% headroom on governor

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's the stock tail pulley.
      My headspeeds are 2700, 2900, 3100. I rarely fly above 2900 though. It does just fine despite the lowish throttle percentage.

  • @tjuan7
    @tjuan7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are the metal tail blade holders worth the upgrade? I'm currently building this heli and have the plastic stock ones.

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Metal tail ones are definitely worth getting, the plastic tail grips have a tendency to be sticky and not smooth rotating even when properly assembled. That makes it more likely for you to have tail wag that can't be fixed electronically.

  • @r7_guy941
    @r7_guy941 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi , like your video's. Can you share your throtlte curves for the different flight modes ?

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Throttle curves aren't really that useful by themselves. I use the YGE gov store in combination with my RPM telemetry to set specific headspeeds by adjusting the throttle curves. You can't really transfer curves between helis because every heli is different. I run 2700/3000/3200 on the 380.

    • @r7_guy941
      @r7_guy941 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BladeScraper Thanks I understand, I also use a YGE ESC with Gov.Store, so I presume you're using flat curves right, but do you also use a flat curve for your normal mode ?

    Have you tried the original rotor tech 386? And the azure 385?

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes before the 385U came out RT-386 is all I flew. The 385U are definitely better in every way. I have not flown the AZ385 but I have flown other Azures, so if the 385 follow the Azure pattern the 385U will be better for what you’re wanting.

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Evo is a bit heavier, needs a bit more headspeed. Not a huge difference but it's there. I'd much rather crash the xl380 over the Evo, the Evo boom is not likely to break but it's expensive if it does.

    what the best way to learn how to fly

  • @TB-vr8hy
    @TB-vr8hy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Personally I'm not too impressed with Ultimate blades. The performance gain compared to standard ones felt very marginal to me. One would expect more for the price differnece they sell. For instance, Ultimates fall in the same price range as Azure blades, and Azures are real cyclic performance monsters, many levels above RT ultimates.

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely don't agree there. Flying the AZ700 next to the RT700U there's no comparison at all. Azures are slow. I had a pair and sold them after 2 flights and bought three more sets of 700U lol.

    • @TB-vr8hy
      @TB-vr8hy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BladeScraper Well I have them on my 550 and rotational rates of Azures and RT (standard or ultimate) ara basically night&day. While with RT, the 550 is fairly slow on cyclic even with 11 or more degrees cyclic pitch, Azures are are lightning fast even below 10 degrees, it feels kinda unreal. Couldn't believe such a diffetence was possible when first trying them out. Hands down Azures win big time.

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TB-vr8hy so the main issue is that what you're saying is mathematically impossible. The Azures are, by design, slower at a given RPM and pitch than the Ultimates. They're designed for high RPMs and fly terrible at lower RPMs and that goes for all sizes. The AZ700 on my Specter 700 on the inner grip arm hole feel slower than the RT-U on the outer hole. That proves the mathematics as well... They're simply slower. They're okay at higher RPM (>2000) but horrendous at slower speeds. I borrowed a set of the AZ560 at a fun fly to try on my 550 and at the low RPMs I fly it's just pathetic honestly lol.
