    This is my third time to listening to David Pawson's teaching of unlocking Bible. Compared to two years in the past, my heart has been filled with so much love of God and gratitude to this life and its journey so far. I have decided to devote my tears to God's blessings in my life. So much so, I am changed in his will. Amen in Jesus name.

    I have a book on Isaiah written by David Pawson I received from a Lutheran seminary in St. Louis, Mo. I am a former teacher of history and other subjects and have an M.A. in theological studies from Covenant Seminary. I had never heard of David Pawson before but started watching his series on TH-cam. I find him to be very thoughtful and even spoke in ways that I found to be in agreement with. As a layperson with a degree in theological studies, I often find myself alone on that level. The more I hear him speak, I am relieved that I am not alone in my beliefs in a culture of skepticism.

      SORRY, I hit the thumbs down by mistake; I too have just discovered Prof Pawson, and so appreciate his succinct and knowledgeable presentation. We pray that he rests now in the light of the Lord Jesus Christ's presence after his repose in May of this year! God keep us all in His Holy Spirit and the grace of the Holy Faith - which took two seminaries to discover and which is the Treasure of His Bride on earth!

    This man's teaching has capitulated my understanding of how to approach the reading of the scripture to a level far above and beyond the many lost years wandering in the wilderness of a " devotional"'
    Line or two, here and there. As Pastor Pawson teaches us, context is CRITICAL to reaping a harvest of GODLY instruction and wisdom.

    But really, what a man this David Pawson was! How lucky we are to have had this man - all his particular talents and skills and learning - his nature and nurture and experiences - his quirks and eccentricities to teach us all this!
    We English do love eccentrics… But Mr Pawson was more than that.
    He was like a science teacher at an old private school!
    He is beyond meticulous - and honest… A little prissy at times - well we can ALL pick faults - but we can never truly better this teacher and his teaching of the Bible, short of having God Himself back here to instruct us!
    I just thank God for giving us this man and his amazing lectures!
    We are beyond blessed.

      @Virgil G
      Where doesn't he? Sure he could be just not all that intelligent and very ignorant, but not as naive as he is pretending to be. Every sentence spoken is mean't to deceive and mislead vulnerable people. How could I start to itemise it all? Not just the obvious lies such as "100 species are becoming extinct everyday" How belittling could a person be to make a claim like that to people who are looking at him as an authority, he is claiming to be. He is speaking to adults as though they are small children. He makes contradicting statements one after the other, and really has no knowledge about which he is speaking. He is encouraging a mess of circular reasoning and has an aim to discourage any critical thinking. He employs the techniques of the confidence man, and continuously makes appeals to emotion. He is treating people like idiots.
      When you see people making claims like these from Davison Pawson always ask, "how do you know". He actually told us in this talk. He said the only way to accept anything he says is to accept it by faith. Faith is the hope for things wished for. How could "faith" be a path to truth? What other important decisions do you use the method of "faith" in your life to determine your action and choices? You don't, so why would you accept things just because someone claims something. We have incredible resources available through the internet and access to many original documents and sources for all to verify.
      Try looking into the historical context of the text he is speaking of. Perhaps some searching on "the two Genesis stories". The origin of the Genesis stories and of Noah's ark, and how the Israelites were exposed to these much older stories.
      Here are a couple of youtube links for you to get started.
      Irving Finkel telling of the British Museum recently attained version of the "Noah" story on cuneiform tablets, that is older than any copy we had before.
      th-cam.com/video/s_fkpZSnz2I/w-d-xo.html
      The Epic of Gilgamesh, Lecture by Andrew George
      th-cam.com/video/Rd7MrGy_tEg/w-d-xo.html
      These stories and the peoples who wrote them are much older than the bible and it's authors.

    Exodus 16:4-29
    also
    Exodus 5:4-22
    Moses speaks of the Sabbath as common knowledge.
    Chapter 20 is actually where it and other commands were written on tablets.
    Abraham may (or may not) have known of this story through oral communication being a Chaldean. Doesn’t matter he, being an imperfect man, was saved by grace through faith. Just as we are.
    I agree with Dawson, and others that observe the sabbath, that one doesn’t earn salvation by keeping the law of God that still pertains (in light of the absence of the temple and as Christ as the new high priest).
    Dawson does an excellent job explaining oral transmission and memory. To say there’s no hint or mention of it until the experience of Mt. Sinai is however not correct.
    I really enjoyed his Romans videos!
    Blessings and shalom!!

      Right, I was thinking the same thing. Also, sacrifices were known by Cain and Abel, and Abraham tithed to Melchizedek.

    My Faith and understanding has grown incredibly in discovery of these teaching.
    Perhaps when the student is ready, the teacher appears.
    I do need to resolve David's statement however in closing remarks when saying
    "Evil is not God's Creation" @37:45
    4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
    This doesn't contradict but it does need resolved. Clearly it states the day of evil.
    That the wicked was was made for that day.
    It also states God made all things.
    Not clear that evil is his creation. The wicked are though.

    • @DavidPawsonMinistry
      @DavidPawsonMinistry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi - I can share with you Davids views on Evil -
      Evil is an adjective not a 'thing' that has been created - the word Evil is always used in conjunction with something eg a person/ an Evil Person or an evil spirit God create us with choice - to choose to follow God and his ways - or to chose to rebel.
      God did not create the Devil - he created an Angel - and that Angel through ambition wanted to be equal to God and disobeyed God
      - This Angel chose not to follow Gods ways and influenced many angels and even Adam and Eve to disobey God
      So yes God is guilty of creating beings and granting them free will - choice - but God is not guilty of creating Evil . Evil is a consequence of disobeying God ..... the alternative to this was for God to create Robots and programme us to do exactly what he says
      ....... but then a robot cannot 'love' or 'give love' God did not wish to share his creation with Robots but with beings who have free will - and He trusted them to do Good but we let Him down big time

    Four things concerning the Sabbath.
    1) It's absurd to think the Sabbath didn't exist before Moses. Just because Moses was the first to write about it doesn't mean it started with him.
    2) God instructed the Israelites after leaving slavery in Egypt how to keep the Sabbath by giving them a double portion of Manna on Friday, and none on the Sabbath. This is proof that the Sabbath existed before the giving of the law on Mt. Sinai. They weren't allowed to keep it as slaves and forgot about it.
    3) The Bible says we will be keeping the Sabbath on the new earth. This shows the importance of it. It's an eternal reminder that God created us and delivered us from the slavery of sin.
    4) A less obvious reason that it existed at creation is that it is one of the 10 commandments. All of the 10 commandments are God's moral law that points out what sin is. It doesn't make sense that those who didn't keep the Sabbath after Moses were sinners, but those before Moses were not sinners. Sin is sin. It doesn't change with the times.

    • @breeze5719
      @breeze5719 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      4) God allows for ignorance of the law as a defense for sinning. However, once you become aware of something you did in ignorance you must ask for forgiveness, repent and be obedient. I'm not sure of they exact verse, but I'll research it if you like. Also, Torah teaching will reveal 3 different types of sin and their judgements.

      Cain knew murdering his brother was a sin and the Sabbath commandment says "Remember"... God had to write it in Stone so there would be no question. Some could question the word of mouth 7th day which God "separated it as HOLY" Gen 2:3... Just some thoughts on your comment.

    • @yangmin1036
      @yangmin1036 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4) sin is sin, I agree with you. But law may change over times. Remember in Leviticus like 20:17, God don't allow man marry his sister. But think about Adam and Eve's son, Seth, he only have one choice, to marry his sister. God didn't say this law that time

      B Green I like ur opinion number 1.
      For number 4 indeed 10 comandment is yahweh moral law that point sin.the bible says people sin without law perish with without law and people sin where there is law will perish by the law that is why Jesus has to come and pay the wage of sin which is death

      dear friend, are you Jewish? this is very much the thought of Judaism, good and evil being part of g-d but different sides of the same coin, not so much as sataan being the ultimate definition of evil. It also does not concern itself with eternal life or eternal damnation either.

    I think Pawson confused monotheism and unitarianism. The former concerns the number of gods and the latter the number of persons in the Godhead.

    Matthew 24:19-22
    19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
    20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
    21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
    22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
    Matthew 24:37
    37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
    Genesis 6:4-5
    4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
    5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
    2 Peter 2:4-5
    4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
    5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.
    Revelation 18:23
    23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
    Jude 6-7
    6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
    7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

    where did Moses get the book of Genesis from ??? simple God gave him every single word he was to write down.
    see 2 Timothy 3:16 that ends all debate, the whole bible was directly given to the writers word for word

      @@chiagookonta3239 But I think it's said that Quran did not have any miracles at all, whereas Moses witnessed so many of God's miracles to start with. Point being those two books are not even in the same league. Isn't it the same question as where did John get the book of revelation from?

    • @chiagookonta3239

      @@hiddentreasure2398 my point is that the documentation of scriptures was inspired and not necessarily that every word was dictated to them by God. Definitely the Bible is God's Holy word and the Qur'an is laughable, but I was just commenting sorely on his understanding of the inspiration of the scriptures.

    I believe the Otiot is the original written language used from the beginning also he's forgetting the first original scribe Enoch (The book of Enoch 1-5) I believe he wrote Genesis. Because all we can do is read the Bible to find truth and everything else is just one's own speculation.

      But Enoch did not write the Book of Enoch - that may be what you believe but it’s not a view shared by scholars
      The book of Enoch is believed to be written much later than most of the New Testament and is not found in the Hebrew Bible for that reasons
