Some say the first "New Age" band was Shadowfax. What a unique band. I was involved in their music from the early stages. On Odd get Even The song "Her dress hangs there ought to be titled "Elepahnts march your Street. Check it out. At Berkley there should be class on their music. Chuck Greenberg RIP
I never knew some of their players passed away...collected their Cd's, I play them when I want to feel peace...everything is in total harmony with Universe here....great, great music....thank you all.
Simply amazing. Thanks so much. We are having a windham hill special divided in three programs of 2 1/2 hours for the next weeks. Will never forget this "epoque". The best of new age with Windham Hill at its core....
I've been listening Shadowfax long time ago their music feeds my heart and spirit when I need inspiration, the violinist Charly Bisarat one of the former members is actually playing with the band of Strunz and Farah.
Yeah, I know! Their is DVD called Windham Hill in Concert or something. It features Shadowfax as one of the groups, but I remember seeing some PBS Special a long time ago as a kid that was awesome. I wish THAT was on DVD too!
@russumm1 The guitarist is Andy Abad. This is from their "Live" album, made not long before Chuck Greenberg died. You can still find the video of the concert floating around if you look. It's worth getting.
Scott Cassu on piano is awesome, they are part of Windham Hill records I believe, try watching a DVD called Waters Path, it came out in the late eighties, great stuff, a lot of SF!
Like facets on the sacred crystal of life, each one unique and beautiful in it's own way, some music, by the nature of it's essence, human and divine... Just remains...magic Shadowfax music is such as this...
They did some of the coolest music ever recorded.
I miss their music so much.
Will always be top 3 bands. Seen them twice live. 86 & 87. Seen them with Montreux. Great musical bands of the 80's.

MUSICA MARAVILLOSA!. One of the best acts from the 80's. If not THE BEST.
This is a great group. I've been starting to write music in a similiar vein. I got most of their albums on Ebay. (Rest in Peace Chuck. :( )

You miss their music? When I miss their music, I simply pop one of their CD's in my player and they're back playing again.
This Concert is from 1995, it is from the last shows they did before their Sax player, Chuck Greenburg passed away.
Recorded live at Palookaville, in Santa Cruz, CA, in January of 1995.
Pure genius...
pure magic lives....!!!

Shit be fierce. If you know me at all, you know I geek out to good World music like this for reasons that, frankly, I don't even understand.

Love how so much of their stuff sounds like it belongs on Karate Kid Soundtrack!
Date of this video is incorrect: The guitarist in this video is Andy Abad who was in the band in the mid 1990's.
