Ahhh, listening to KLSK 104.1 FM out of Santa Fe, NM in the ‘80s, Shadowfax was often featured along with others on the Windham Hill label. Artists from the Narada label followed. The music added to the mystique of The Land of Enchantment.
An awesomely talented band. Saw them in 89 and they were so tight. I told Charles Bisharat afterward that it was one of the best concerts I'd ever seen and he seemed genuinely appreciative.
Ah, the Windham Hill Concert - great group, but they were more jazz fusion I think than New Age. "New Age" I think was mainly created by record companies that had no clue how to label this type of music - i.e. they like easy to define categories.
@meko390 i picked up their first album titled "watercourse way" to find that out myself. it is actually a little more spastic and aggressive than their later releases. i enjoy it but if you're looking for great background music or just something to chill with, stick with the windahm hill releases friend.
Bim Morrison music is great, too many mullets though, the 80s were a horrendous time for fashion,I have the Shadowdance cd and love it,I bought it after buying a very cheap vinyl Windham Hill sampler of various artists on the label.
been listening to them for 25 years now and can never get tired of it .

It truly is a shame that they disbanded in the mid 90's. I really loved their music. Seems like there just aren't many groups like this anymore.
love love love this! timeless melodies.
happy dancing💃 listen all day.
love phil's bass playing off the too far to whisper album
@meko390 Their first album was Watercourse Way. Their first album with the real "Shadowfax sound" was Shadowdance.
A famous relatively unknown group, time has no hold on this music!
Can anyone tell me what are some of the earliest music from Shadow fax? This music is heavenly, it soothes the soul.
I had this on laser disk, simply amazing music.
Thank you so so much for posting this video. Love it!!!
An excellent tune written by David Lewis.
