The bride wasn't crazy about it, for obvious reasons, but I watched it with some other wedding/reception attendees in a bar at this multipurpose event venue out in Oakbrook Terrace. Then later, when the band played Chelsea Dagger after the Hawks won, I was relieved to see the bride dancing to the song (I mean, it is a banger XD).
Wow I watched all these games live growing up and then I watched them in 2017 and got the chills and now again in 2019 and I still got the chills when the crowd says 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Truly an amazing dynasty and they did it with hard work unlike the patriots who have to cheat to win.

Though our Hawks are not in it this year, and probably won't be back for a while, we can only look back at all the great memories that this dynasty brought us. Someday we'll be back. Someday.

They were the reason I started watching hockey again. They set the standards of speed and skills game ,that evolved into todays game. There was still lot of "rock em sock em hockey" at the time when they started. But they made the speed & skills game looked more efficient and enjoyable than the latter. I remember the Anaheim series, when Ryan Kessler , ducks forward said: no humans can withstand so much punishments( hits). Ducks stick to em hard with body checks , but Hawks kept truckin on , played their game and found a way to beat Anaheim convincingly in the last 2 games of the series. That series summed it all up there and started changed everyone's perception about the effectiveness of speed & skills over physical games...which many previous Stanley Cup winners before them were notorious for.

It is really sad watching this now, I just wonder how we got here 5 years after this reign. We have lost so many players, Bickell, Sharp, Darling, and a lot of others are aging like seabrook and Keith, Crawford in there as well. I still wish I could have this again at an age where I rally could enjoy it more, Toews and Kane were the most powerful duo at the time, getting up there with the greatest in history. Same goes for Keith and Seabrook, their prime is long gone now, but again one of the most powerful duos in the game. This team was truly great.
