oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, this deck was just nuts. a real example of the power of the fetch lands and dual lands. is decks like this that keep me coming back for more. what a draft. thank you Luis.
I once wondered just how good the mana dorks were with Skullclamp when the deck also had Natural Order AND Craterhoof in it, meaning that it NEEDED creatures in play to win. When I saw how the deck operated though, the result was clear. Saccing a 1 toughness creature to draw 2 cards is pretty damn good!
Was sceptical with passing tinker into grim monolith into battlesphere, but survival/recurring nightmare is my fav engine in magic. Well done to make it work with vengevine and modern day creatures.
It's pretty cool to see some of these classic jund cards actually being good in a cube deck. Vengevine, survival, and rootwallas have been so bad for so long
I HATE the gawdy full art cards, except for the basic lands. those are the only ones that are acceptable. Even some of the alternate artworks are just annoying to look at.
I really like this deck! Feels less what I've seen LSV draft recently, but the synergies were just fun together. I'm a big fan of synergistic decks over straight combo, personally. Awesome draft, good sir!
I feel like snap picking Sylvan Wayfinder in a pack with Tribal Flames and Leyline Binding when you're already Domain is kinda wild, was the synergy with skullclamp just too good to pass?
I still don't think these cards should be in the draft, save for Survival, but they looked GOOD in this deck! I'm even okay with needing some luck to win, because we all need a little luck sometimes. In Standard, way back when, I mulled 2 hands with lands and spells that were slow as dirt and settled on a 5 card hand that ended up going turn 3 Primeval Titan, turn 4 Primeval Titan, turn 5 hard cast Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, when I was on the draw in game 3 against Valakut.
these decks would rather do these things with creatures though, because Recurring Nightmare and Survival. So yes, Faithless Looting is good, but not as good as the creatures that mill on ETB. Melevolent Rumble is sort of the exception, because it helps fix these draws, whether they need lands or creatures, which this deck could feasibly need either at any given time, and again bins the rest for Recurring Nightmare to use later.
@@LucianDevineits hard to say something fixes draws better then faithless looting :p. Besides that, its only one mana and easy to find a spot to fit it in your curve
We need to find a name for this kind of deck, I myself call them LSV Monstrosities, where you have like a Domain kinda mana base, good cards, all over the place colors and synergies packages here and there.
Hey Luis, loved your draft direction this time! The deck was different to what you usually draft and a joy to watch. Any consideration to removing Karakas from your cube? Nullifying all non-ETB legends with a land that also taps for mana can really end match-ups without even casting a spell.
Vengevine might just be better now woth how generally good value creatures are now. Randomly getting it back a couple times is great especially if you have ways of discarding it early 🤔
Hi - thanks for the videos! Is there any way to prevent the overlap of the card preview and your video feed? Edit: spoke too soon - that only happened with the pyrogoyf.
Would point out your guy that passed you the tinker in pack 1, passed you citadel in pack 3. You're getting in your head a bit about getting duped on the lurrus....
This is kinda examplary draft of why the cube with weird stuff package like madness/dredge is better than versions that are just raw power oriented. In the other versions of the cube, BG or Jund barely ever get played, cannot recall a game when those color were good and interesting to watch.
Man, I love you, but I'd wish you'd stop saying "good art" when you just mean "art that I'm familiar with/nostalgic from the time of my youth". ;) There are great artists hired for stuff like the Secret Lair, and old cards like that Fyndhorn Elves are just horrendous and hurt the eyes. Same goes for old school Survival compared to the Judge promo.
there is not that much great new art, it's all photoshop and done on a desk. Old art + old frame equals best art in 99% of the cases. Secret Lair in particular are just a joke sometimes, look at that horrendous Arwen this draft. What even is that.
The justification for taking literally any permanent because "its good with Bombadiers" is so funny to me 😂
if [card = MTG card] {
then {
set isGoodWithBomba = TRUE
}
}
I just found it weird that he didn't even consider Gut.
Isn't it "any permanent that gives some value even if you immediately sacrifice it"?
@@grubgobbler3917 Gut over Clamp in your Nadu deck?
That's the old, great on a mulligan because it goes to the bottom of the deck lol

Love that Skullclamp was in the deck and fit perfectly but that it decided not to exist at any point in all 3 matches
the number of cards drafted/played because they were "good with skullclamp"...

I love how a couple of goblin pirates with a cannon are somehow one of the more terrifying entities in Magic
not only them but ragavan too. there is a goblin pirate ship out there calling shots
In Starcraft 2 the most dangerous thing in the game is men with drugs and guns. They even faster than capital ships can fly.
It's pretty cool to see some of these classic jund cards actually being good in a cube deck. Vengevine, survival, and rootwallas have been so bad for so long
"What card is this? Arwen? Dear Lord."
😂 This killed me.

Awesome draft, good sir!
LSV playing RecSur in 2024 warms my ancient bones.
Classic Vintage Cube hunger finally sated!
super sick deck! survival is so key to making those cards pop - but when you have it, it POPS
I feel like snap picking Sylvan Wayfinder in a pack with Tribal Flames and Leyline Binding when you're already Domain is kinda wild, was the synergy with skullclamp just too good to pass?

Loved watching. I couldn't even figure out the lines in this draft if I had a map.
Signed!
I think lsv criminally underrated faithless looting in these decks. Kinda the glue that really makes thing run smoother

pretty nice to see survival being good. ggs
Amazing deck, low curve domain is awesome!
12:04 Backstreets back, ALRIGHT!
Best deck to watch in a Looong time. Just sick😮😮
Awesome to see vengevine and survival of the fittest utilized. Was a great draft to watch.
One of your coolest decks in a while:)

such a fun deck! Deathrite and broadside MVP but lots of honorable mentions
No more frantically refreshing at 6, woop woop
Hearing you say jittie was the most powerful limited card . Thinks about the limited FNM deck I had was fool jittie and regular jittie lol
Tempest block drafts at lgs flashback yeah I’m old dood
finally, blazing rootwalla!
This draft took this old pod player back to VALUE TOWN
game 1/1 opponent should have attacked and hoped you bobbed the vaultborn on top would you have upkeep survival and grabbed it?

Hell yeah, Rec/Sur
Jitte, Best limited card oot? Maybe. But it’s a rare. Sprout swarm. That’s a busted limited card.
This is the kind of deck only lsv can draft. Really nice attention to microsynergies today, totally carried a bunch of mediocre cards to greatness

Gotta force Goyf tribal.
Leonin bolas was busted too.

"Survival of the Luckiest" in the title.
2023 or earlier LSV: Easy 3-0 since he's the luckiest there is.
2024 LSV: Video could have any result.

Vengevine in the thumbnail and not in the deck? 👎👎👎👎
Seems paranoid in a non-team draft to think that people are passing you strong cards as bait to self-destructively grief you.
It is a Team Draft
