In the first five minutes two men who are no longer with us who i admired enormously, Colin McRae and Dave Metcalfe. Great to see these old videos of proper rallying again, i don't watch the WRC anymore, even small single venue club events are dominated by WRC cars today, a bit sad in my opinion.
@@fordgtcrazy My point was and still is, guys with huge budgets doing single-venue events in 150 grand essentially works car is just 'pot hunting', i watched a SV event the other week on Ynys Môn, the majority of the top twenty were running cars that were capable of winning a national event with a good driver. Thats one of the reasons i went back to road rallying and put the Gp4 escort back in the garage. Cheers for the comment by the way.
@@AnthonyJones-vk6xq I remember circa 2004/5/6 Jon Ingram doing a single venue at Ynys Môn racetrack in a quite fresh Subaru WRC. It was a 2 day event. He suffers from engine problems late Saturday afternoon. Helicopter flies in with a new engine from Prodrive on Saturday evening which was then fitted in his car overnight!!! Long live the clubman...

Would loved to have seen how well Dave Metcalf would have done when F2 was the top class. I'm prety sure the others would be in trouble trying to matching his times.
Thag young Scottish driver doesn't seem like he's going to be very good at rallying.! 😉 Besides, ah cannea unerstan ah wud he sez.! 😉 😉 😂 Stay safe out there & best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️

I can assure you a WRC car hasn’t won a national event for a very long time

So sad we never got to see Dave Metcalf’s brilliance in the kit car era
