$99,888.40 if all payments are made. This is just fucking insane. This is not Porsche GTS 4.0 money. It's a fucking Toyota. Everyone has lost their minds.
Agree i was going to buy one for my wife and we decided for a 2025 M edition bmw 20k less that that and the treatment at the dealer was the best i ever had! Toyota are crazy
Yes, but to be fair, Jon bought a highly overpriced first edition. He could’ve gotten the mid grade LC with the softex for $64k which is much easier to stomach.
That's only if minimum payments are all that is made, every single month, for the entire duration of the loan term. If he makes additional principal payments, sells the truck, trades the truck, etc., that figure is irrelevant.
Real world review of the LC is exactlyyyyyy what I’m looking for! I want the LC as my next vehicle and don’t want to mod it out. Just want to know how good of a daily driver it is. Stoked for the content!!
You certainly have gotten the pulse of your subscribers! Congratulations on this new addition and I look forward to every intricate detail which you kindly share with us. In the interim, I am still searching for a 2024/5th GEN 4Runner in underground color.
Respect for talking about the price and financial side of things. I feel like most people would shy away from disclosing that information in a TH-cam video. It gives a much better picture for those who look to buy something like this in the future-being a good benchmark. Thank you!
As long as people realize that, and the average consumer gets an understanding that it’s not reasonable for an average person who is not living at home with parents. This is stupid money for a vehicle and is in the range of having to be wealthy to own
Can’t believe this smaller 4 cylinder costs more than a Sequoia, especially with my local dealer offering almost 8k off on the Sequoia. Capital One offered me the best interest rate 6.47 for 72 months or 6.27 for 60 months with 15k down, 810 credit score. Great looking SUV and good luck with it.
I just got a LC on Saturday and decided to just pay cash for it. There were no low interest offers, even with an 800 credit score. I also purchased from a dealership that does not do mark ups, I am loving it so far.
You said you wanted to be “straight up” with us, you should just admit you wanted it! Getting it for MPG and hauling the dogs is not the reason, just the reason you gave wifey 😂. The first edition is hot AF.
I paid less than that for my proven 200 series... I hope the 250 lives up to the hype! @TRDJON FYI - Landcruiser resale values are very sensitive to milage. In some situations 10k mi will take $5k off the value. Your wife may be better off leasing a car for real-estate to keep the miles off the LC.
Saw one of these on the road the other day. Looked real good, though visually tall. Cant wait to see a few get lifted with larger tires as I think those will really have presence.
I'm here especially for your input on how it works with the dogs. I have a 2018 4 Runner now with 52k and am looking to upgrade in the winter or spring of next year. Congrats on your new ride! And thanks for the transparency.
@TRDJon oh man.Thank Jon for the heads up. Well that kinda sucks. We compete in dog sports in mostly TN and use a Metris van. I'm leaning towards the new 4runner but the boxier shape on the LC make for better headroom for dog travel. Very curious how this motor does with real milage put on her. I'll be watching. Thanks Jon.
Thank you for sharing!! To be personal as well, I financed a 2017 4Runner SR5P in January 2023 for 60-mos, its gonna cost me $40K total (including financing) and that was my LIMIT. Seeing how expensive the new Land cruiser is, I'm not upset I bought my 4Runner last year cuz there's no way I could afford these new Toyota (and Lexus) SUVs/Trucks. But appreciate your videos, 20 years from now when I can afford these I'll return to your videos! haha
Why you purchased it makes complete sense and financially, it's sound for your situation. Outside of that, I gotta say, holy cow buying new vehicles has never been more expensive. I will drive my 5th gen until I die lol.
Hey Jon, I’m trying to look through all your videos but can’t find the Landcruiser roof rack install and details. What model is it and will it fit on a GX550?
I am eyeing the "base" LC when it comes out and I just might get it from Danville Toyota because I am NOT paying any "market adjustment" garbage. Dealers in my area are upcharging the First Edition by $5K-$10K and I'm sure they will do the same for the Base and 1958.
Here is my plan: 1Q 2025, 4runner is coming out, initial wave of LC hype is gone, 4runner hype is in full swing, base 1958 with no options slightly below MSRP at $52k, maybe a bit lower. Lets see if that works. Also would be able to see what recalls we are going to have on this hybrid between now and then...
In southern california we got so ripped off. And I shopped around! The stickers here have “port installed upgrades” and then “dealer installed upgrades”. My MsRP was around $80K, then I was forced to buy $10K in products (like ext warranty), so with taxes and all I was $96K. Not financed. I didn’t even think about going out of state. Did you hire a truck to take it to FL for you? I don’t know what the deal is, but mine avg MGP is hovering at 19…
Hello, I have a serious question. Just purchased one myself today! but the toyota dealer kept pushing the extended warranty that cost around $2200 CAD which makes the warranty 3yrs from 6 and covers any tire puncture or electronic issues and undercoating which is also around $1900CAD. Do you think it is worth it to buy the warranty and the undercoat? or are they just trying to upsale?
I have a GH....roof vents work really good; I see them being in the front also one day. I dont recreationally off road, I do go down all the desert trails in my area and the GH is perfect. Drives like a dream...feels small and quick I have the 4T
I didn't expect to love ours as much.. but it so much fun with the pickup of the hybrid. We have a black 1st edition and think we are going to add vinyl decals like the original toyota strips...
You gained my respect my friend. Being fully transparent isn't something you see on social media.👍 With all the businesses you guys have for revenue, I think you guys are ok. Time will tell how these 4cyl hybrids hold up being the first couple of years. With all that being said, I can't imagine the average consumer paying $1,000+ a month for any vehicle. 😢 Good luck my friend and congratulations! I did have one question for you. What's auto insurance like in FL with all the storms down there? Thanks.
This is a great video on why no one should be buying depreciating assets like this, especially considering the real price for a mostly plastic 4 cylinder SUV should be about 39,900.
Thanks for breaking down costs for us down to percentage of interests down payments and monthly payments an even your credit so it can help first second or third time buyers who rarely buy new cars get a feel for the market on such a new vehicle I haven’t bought new since 2016 Scion tC 8 years ago I just been toying around with older Toyotas and Lexus vehicles trying to save some money waiting for the market to come back down to earth an plan on buying the new Land Cruiser or a 6th Gen 4Runner next year… The 4 Runner is already been tested and the 4Runner is the better out the dealer off reader and if it’s $20k cheaper I’m deff going with the 4Runner always wanted one and it’s be nice to get the first year of the newly anticipated 6 Gen we’ve waited over 14 years for now…
AC vents in the roof is a great idea for rear occupants. Mitsubishi Montero had those in 2001 with the rear air option. Works like a charm. Those wheels you got should be nice. I know the new Tacoma's are loosing some decent MPGs with bigger tires but those are not the hybrid. It will be nice to see how yours does.
I'm a new fan (and subscriber) and loving your content thus far. My LC is supposed to arrive this month, so ive been hunting for wheels also... not easy since the ideal offset appears to be uncommon for aftermarket wheels. =/ Keep up the great work!
FYI. there are different trim packages for the First Edition 1958. My local dealer has the 1958 black in the build phase at $61,656 instead of $74,950.
Gosh I love the new LC. I really like where you are going with this build! Crazy thing about the three zone climate control is Lexus took it out on the GX Overtrail. D’oh! +1 for the LC.
I canceled my LC trim order. All that trim my dealership will come with premium package. Hopefully Toyota will give 1958 more packages options in next year or I will go for the new 4Runner.
I got mine delivered, Nov 24 {UK spec} Best bit of kit I’ve bought. I’ve listen to people saying it’s badly made, etc, etc. Think these people have never. seen one in the flesh. It’s outstanding, trust me! BTW….I was offered 20k more than I paid. It was a straight “NO” 🥳
As always Jon, thanks for the content! Love the LC especially in that color! I plan on going the same route with my GX, nothing crazy, just some personalized adds etc. I have been patiently waiting on my Nori / OT+ for two months now. That said, the one thing I'm really bummed about is the lack of roof vents on the OT trims. The other trims have them plus the rear climate controls. Even though there isn't a third row, why leave them out? I mean, they left the damn cupholders! I do have an allocation, with a VIN, on an LC FE but probably still going GX. For now.
If you truly "have" an allocation with a Toyota dealer for a Cruiser, you should do the right thing & let them know well in advance of its arrival that you don't plan to go through with the purchase. Stringing them along with the truck punched/red-dotted in your name & then letting them RDR is to you before it leaves the port only to not end up purchasing it screws up both their month-end books & their future allocations as well.
@@sawyermartin4434 I’ll go two better. I told them up front of my plans with full disclosure. If you’re talking about “doing the right thing,” maybe they shouldn’t have an $8k MA on it. I also told them I wouldn’t pay a dime over MSRP but they still had no problem taking my 1k deposit either. When, or if, my GX comes in, or when I have a definite date, I will make the decision and have a convo with them. I really like both vehicles but I’m keeping my options open as I’m sure they are.
@rayandolina11 Okay, got it. They have your blind deposit, which is not applied towards the Cruiser. The allocation/VIN is not pre-sold to you. Totally different scenario. Both great options, enjoy whatever you end up getting man!
@@sawyermartin4434 thanks. I understand and, business is business and I was up front. Would love to swing both but, divorce would be more expensive. lol.
Hold up a second, you got into a $1,200+ monthly payment for 72 months, to save maybe $30 a month on gas? Brother!! Come on now. That is assuming it takes regular gas. If its premiun it will probably cost you more per month than the other 17 mpg vehicles you have.
Beautiful truck, great color choice but more than double what I paid for my 23 Willys. Good luck with it, maybe you'll get some of your money back when you sell it.
the paint protection film is a port installed item , if its on the sticker it was installed by a skilled labor worker at a Toyota facility in the states. You got a really nice LC , insane amount of money tho I kinda feel Toyota really kicked hard core Yota enthusiast in the face with the new vehicle pricing.
MSRP - depreciation for its 'limited use' means you bought a new to you slightly used LC with a new warranty instead of a Toyota Gold used warranty. Glad you like it and enjoy it which is all that matters at this time. I do not like the new size and package of the LC 250 series compared to my LC 200 series. I predict Toyota will not find as hot a market as expected for the LC 250 in the next year or two.
They have already sold more than they have the 200 series in its last year and they have been out for 2 months. It will definitely be more of a “volume” ish seller for them.
Let’s see if the initial pent up sales holds up for several years. The last several years of the LC 200 was priced too high and actually sent customers to Lexus. If the new LC is a big hit my congratulations to TOYOTA. If not, Toyota will reconfigure it again. It is not the car for me in the new style. I think the BMW X5 and X7 offer more car for the dollar currently as does the Lexus GX550. My favorite is the LX600.
Well said! And to add to that, once you surpass the price of a new corolla or civic every dollar you spend detracts from the fuel economy no matter how good of MPG's it gets!
@@TRDJon Thanks for the content, love the videos! I do think that the premium gas requirement is a bummer though, and takes away from any actual $ savings. Looking forward to finding out more info on that for sure.
Disregard some of these comments bashing you Jon. Just like how a businessman spends on his business, you too are spending on your business, this Land Cruiser will bring millions of views and engagements for your channel and will eventually pay off 10X. Best wishes 😊
4runners can also be had with full-time 4wd. Look at the 4th gen with a V8, 5th gen Limited, and the 6th gen should have at least one trim with it. You have many choices!

Gas is just one factor man. Not even the biggest
Beautiful truck, great color choice but more than double what I paid for my 23 Willys. Good luck with it, maybe you'll get some of your money back when you sell it.
Thanks man!
I’m also in the panhandle, did any local dealer offer to sell at MSRP? Sounds like buying in another state would be a pain
Panama City Toyota is an MSRP dealer
Awesome. Doing good work bud!
I appreciate that
Tires and done! Thanks for the vid!
Right on!
Holy hell! That’s insane
Jesus Christ my Wife and I were with our jaws dropped watching the financial info. Appreciate the transparency but holy shit I’m in utter disbelief.
the paint protection film is a port installed item , if its on the sticker it was installed by a skilled labor worker at a Toyota facility in the states. You got a really nice LC , insane amount of money tho I kinda feel Toyota really kicked hard core Yota enthusiast in the face with the new vehicle pricing.
Core enthusiasts aren’t getting high end trims imo man. But I get what you are saying.
@@TRDJon Wrong ! Core enthusiasts are leaving ! Platform is Trash ! And all the engines they put in it !
Sounds good dude
Good video and thanks for your transparency but this is shenanigans!
No worries!!!
lol the logic for financing this car - it’s akin to “I will take up smoking then give it up, to save money”
Can you do an interior comparison between the 5th gen T4R and LC I feel like they’re pretty close in size but my wife says the LC is smaller
For sure can. The LC is bigger inside over the 5th Gen for sure. But I can still do a comparison
@TRDJon Please do a interior space comparison with the 5th gen T4R and the new tacoma (which should be similar interior to the 6th gen 4runner)
What you gain in mileage you loose in premium fuel cost brother?
Not 100% sure. Ima run a regular take with it to really see
Thanks for the transparency Jon!
Always!
Very nice Land cruiser.. it compliments the 4Runner ❤
Yes it does!
You can’t talk about mpg on 80k dollar cars the gas is marginal at that price point
Still nice to have though.
It was just one of his reasons. If he can make a video a month about it and cover the payment then why not?
Are you doing a vid on the upgraded rims and tire mod?
100%!
Disregard some of these comments bashing you Jon. Just like how a businessman spends on his business, you too are spending on your business, this Land Cruiser will bring millions of views and engagements for your channel and will eventually pay off 10X.
Best wishes 😊
Thank you so much. I appreciate you and your support! Unfortunately have to spend money sometimes to make money.
This comment is what I kinda wanted to say, Hey Jon....here George from Miami....bring those videos man
Heck yea! Thanks George!!! You’re awesome for watching bro! Thanks!
Disregard anything but sunshine and lemonade. So American. Don't want anyones feelings hurt! All gotta be "positive" and not reality.
@@drn13355 I'd be pretty damn positive if my side gig or hobbie bought me one of these.
I’m starting to like this more than 6th gen 4Runner. More refined overall, full time 4x4 with all the other off road features.
That’s what I’m saying bro. AND, it’s own unique interior.
4runners can also be had with full-time 4wd. Look at the 4th gen with a V8, 5th gen Limited, and the 6th gen should have at least one trim with it. You have many choices!
@@brianh5393 I know but you have to give up the rear locker and sway bar disconnect!
I am averaging around 19.2 MPG. I do have the nitto tires, maybe that is what is killing me.... ????
Possibly. Are they bigger?
@@TRDJon 265 70R 18 - Should be same size. Maybe just heavier. I drove home today from Ft Lauderdale to Jacksonville. Averaged 19.2 on the highway home. Ran in Eco Mode. Just not getting anywhere near what you are getting. :(
Maybe check the load rating on the side. But if it’s the same as stock then it shouldn’t be that much of a difference
He has a new Tundra, new Tacoma, new Land Cruiser and a 4Runner which isn't that old. So which one will be for sale soon?
If anything goes, it will be the Tundra
@@TRDJonI don't recall a channel that has had so many new vehicle purchases in such a short time. I bet you're hoping Toyota doesn't come out with the rumored small truck anytime soon 😂
Every big car TH-camr I watch is constantly cycling cars. It’s crazy.
@@TRDJonI would sell the Tundra and 4Ruuner.
I would not be replacing the wheels, its just going to ruin the ride. I would consider a high lift and an extra set of tires for off road/snow
No snow in FL
Damn Jon interest rate so high. Maybe check credit union some of them at my state offer 4.99 for 60months. Nice color for Lc250.
Will do my friend. My union is at 5% for 72 I believe.
Hey TRD Jon, a bunch of of the Land Cruisers are stuck in a QC hold forever this summer. Any insight?
I’ve asked and have no info man. Idk what the hold is.
Hi Jon and family your quite lucky in the states here in the UK my FE which is our only choice at the moment is around £80k equals around $120k !!!!!!! great videos regards Dave in the UK
That’s wild man.
@@TRDJon What can I do the price is the price no negotiation in the Uk with these LC s the only thing we have on our side is the Dealerships can’t charge above MRSP it’s against the law apparently? but it’s either suck it up pay the price or cut your nose off to spite your face and don’t buy one 🙄 I,m buying one I,m 68 years old. Regards. Dave
Wow crazy numbers definitely out of my budget
Does yours have a light rattle at low gear acceleration?
Not that I have heard.
@@TRDJon hmmm 🤔 maybe I should get it checked out.
Wow. $16.6k in total interest and 6.88% is already pretty good rate.
I wanna say my credit union is at 5% right now. But I will see.
Yeah if you can get 5% refi rate that’s a great rate.
For sure. Need the Tacoma down at that rate. That dang truck is at 8%
Pretty sure you can switch the loan (very) early on, for a better rate. Not sure how it works a year later. Not like a house and refi…
Thank you for being honest Jhon but they ripped your ass off 👍🏼
No FE is under MSRP at the moment
Does the LC have regen braking?!
I don’t feel like it does. Nothing like our old RAV4 did
@@TRDJon thank you! I’m shocked literally no one hs spoken about this yet it was one of my biggest questions with the new powertrain being a hybrid. Enjoy the new ride! Your heritage blue might make me change my mind on getting the underground.
Thank you!!!!
What’s up with the extended QC holds on most LC and GX500’s?? What’s the issue???
Not sure honestly man. I’ve asked my people and still no response
@@TRDJonThanks. Is it odd how tight lipped they are being on this especially if it were only a sunroof drain issue? I have a GX OT+ allocation on hold and it has me second guessing my decision. You have a great channel. Thanks- Brian
Transparency would be nice for sure
Thanks for posting and sharing how you make it work financially. Interesting.
For sure man!
Congrats 🥳😁😎👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Keep up the great work.
Thank you! Will do!
Awesome vehicle man. Keep making your vids! Sure, it's a little pricey but you work your ass off for it and you deserve it.
Lots of broke haters out here brother haha. The fact that they cant stand to see you in it means you made it!🎉
I wish everyone success, IF they want it and put their minds to it. But that you bro! I appreciate the support!!!
My local dealer only has a single 1958 model and its 10k over MSRP
Let it sit
And it's made in Japan, Excellent quality control
