    Good review and hands on demonstration. I just recommend doing this indoors next time. The wind noise isn't doing the video justice.

      Thanks for the feedback, I'm slowly but surely learning what works and what doesn't. I'm not rich so I buy upgrades when I can. Working on getting a camera that allows for a professional mic I can have on my shirt.

    To me the ZXMT fairings are better quality kits than the other ebay kits because they are injection molded and the tabs arent actually glued together to make one. Sometimes makes no sense spending more for oem because when you crash you got to get new fairings again. Better just take the oem money and buy two set of the ZXMT fairings and have a spare that you can change up later on.

    • @GaragePrints
      @GaragePrints  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that was the point I was trying to prove. I mean I spent more money on OEM parts and I still didn't get everything I got from ZXMT. Now if 100% EXACT fitment is a big concern then OEM is probably the only option especially if you're trying to buy all the little pads and heat protectors that go with the plastics.

    I bought a set of zxmt fairings for my zx12 and the right fairing blew off at around 140mph...so instead I have bought oem pieces of different colors and decided to get them painted...

      I didn't have that experience and even after a bad crash those fairings stayed in place. I'm sorry you had that experience, hopefully it's not an actual issue with their quality now... It would really suck to have my video promoting a substandard product.

      @@GaragePrints Highly doubt it. He probably didn't have the fairings properly fastened to the bike. Even the cheapest fairings out there ain't just going to blow off a bike at 140 if they are properly mounted everywhere.

    • @GaragePrints
      @GaragePrints  ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot comment on that as it would all be speculation, I can only speak for the experience I had and try to be empathetic towards the experience others had.

      @@GaragePrints I'm thinking of getting the ZXMT fairings. I need a new upper tail fairing and buying OEM or even aftermarket, they are no less than $150, so why not spend the extra $100 for an entire kit. Saves me from having to sand my entire bike down and fix a lot of the chips and cracks on different spots, just for an extra $100. Seems like solid fairings to me from your video. Do they have an ebay store? Trying to find it

      Let me see if I can get a link to the supplier I got it from. Otherwise I feel like just typing in ZXMT should work. Give me minute...

    ZXMT IS TOO LIGHTWEIGHT @ HIGHSPEED & WILL END UP FLYING OFF.

      I used mine at the race track and while it has always been on a 600 I still reached between 130-140 MPH and never had any issues. I've have heard of fairings flying off but I have never seen it and obviously installation is also a factor.

      If i were to add some fiberglass layers on the fairings pieces would it hold up better?

    • @GaragePrints
      @GaragePrints  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By the time you do all this you're better of buying a different kind of fairings.

    Hey man,
    I got some ebay fairings as well, and I found that the nose piece (OEM 2 pieces) is one piece on the aftermarket. How did you go about installing the one piece nose fairing? There is no way to mount the OEM brackets on there, but the aftermarket fairing does have the plastic extensions in the locations of the screws, but they are a different diameter than OEM... lmk if you can!

    • @GaragePrints
      @GaragePrints  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I didn't actually mount the one-piece style fairings, those were on the bike already and they had been crashed so I just ripped them off the bike. The bolts that go to the headlights are super hard to put on even on the OEM stuff. But if I'm understanding what you're asking me about is the mounting points which need threaded tabs, and those are just something you're going to need to buy separately.

      If you need further clarification don't hesitate to ask I try to answer all the questions I get but of course not being there in person to see it's not always easy or possible

      @@GaragePrints Thanks for the reply!
      Yeah its basically where the headlights mount, the OEM fairings have the metal tabs that slide on that you can screw into, but the ebay fairings just have the plastic extension with a hole in it... I probably have to just thread it with a screw right?

    • @GaragePrints
      @GaragePrints  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a few of the mounting places that use screws and not bolts and nuts. So yeah they will just take a screw directly into the plastic and that will hold everything as intended.

    • @GaragePrints
      @GaragePrints  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly if you don't do paint it won't be bad, but it's not a a paint job so... It's a bit translucent, but my brother used them without paint on his bike and honestly it looked fine.

    Do you where to get the oem fairings for honda cbr600rr 2011

    • @GaragePrints
      @GaragePrints  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OEM fairings will cost like 5k for everything and you could get them directly from Honda or maybe for like 1k from a private party that replaced their OEM fairings with race fairings. That's why I went with the kit from ZXMT, it's crazy to pay OEM prices for fairings. For like 5K you can get a decent bike, but it's entirely up to you.
