same i used to own the iphone 4 and i remember trying to get ios 8 running since some apps didn’t support ios 7.1.2 so i sticked with the last support ios by not jailbreaking to keep it stock :)
Im using an iphone 4s rn and its running at ios 9.3.6 and its not that bad

Correction: Steve Jobs' last keynote was a few months before the reveal of the 4S (when iCloud and iOS 5 were revealed). The 4S was revealed by Phil Schiller.

Yes it was revealed by phil schiller, few days before this keynote steve jobs resigned as the ceo and the next day after the keynote steve jobs died. Here was a empty front row seat that was actually for steve but he was in hospital.

I still have my iPhone 4 running ios 7...man it always brings back awesome memories... I feel like while this phone is iconic, it also fell off the hardest. Apple really killed it with ios 9
i used my 4s as a daily driver from when it launched in 2011 to 2017.
it's been through 3 continents, 10+ countries.
can't believe it lasted through all those uses. battery is over 1000 cycles.
now it's fully retired on my showcase. what a phone in an era where all other phones were crap.
those photos taken in 2011 is sstill sync-ed with all my current apple devices.

I'm using iPhone 7 (128Gb) since August 2017 and I'm absolutely happy with it even today :) It can do everything I need. And yes, it has also been through many countries, few continents and islands.

After the iPhone 4/5/SE, I had no interest in buying an iPhone again until the squared-off design came back on the iPhone 12/13.
Same I switched to Samsung after iPhone 6 then came back to apple after I saw the iPhone 12

The iPhone 4s is my very first iPhone, which my mom gave me when I was in 4th grade, more than 5 years ago. Plus, I’m still using it until now even though I got a new one, lots of memories.
The iPhone 4s was my first phone! Loved that thing and I’d probably never have gotten rid of it if I could’ve kept it!

I used the iPhone 4S from July 2017-December until I got the 6S for Christmas, replacing it. I miss the 4s, but now I have a better phone now so that’s good
I still have my 4 and it still works.
I still have my old 4s but the touch screen isn’t working and the back glass is shattered, I wish I could get it fixed
i still have mine from 2012 and it still works until now its just that the battery is so weak already but its understandable
i still have one and use it, not as a main cell phone. tried that before, found out it was carrier locked after I tried to put my SIM in at some local repair shop, I was without a working cell phone until I got home.

iPhone 5SE, to me is the best. same form factor and still supported. Plenty powerful. I’m using now as my newer one is under repair. Think I’m gonna stick with this one though. Fits in hand better and square edges are better!

i have the 4s, 6 and 13... didn't get the 12, cuz i wasn't using my phone as much in 2020 due to work from home with covid. i switched over to samsung s8 between the 6 and 13

I have an iPhone 4 laying around in my house on iOS 7. My mom used to own it and I used it a lot up until 2019 when I got my own phone. I also used to use an iPod a lot back in around 2017-2018. But then I got the phone I’m currently on, an iPhone XR. And I am currently planning to get an iPhone SE (2nd generation) for Christmas, because I’ve had this phone for 3 years and it is starting to get a little bit slow and the battery health is really bad on it. I’m planning to use my phone way less heavily when I get an iPhone SE (2nd generation.)
I don't think you should get an SE. The XR is still pretty good.
@@adamator88 not for me. It’s battery health is 84% which is close to being unstable, and it’s very noticeably laggy.
The SE has a better processor, too. 2 years better in fact. If I’m correct that the iPhone XR has an A11

First new iPhone was the 4. The “S” series of iPhones Deneen’s pointless to me. I really missed having the flat edges. I just recently got my 13 PM in nov ‘21, after running my 7 plus on the og iOS it shipped with. Took a bit of learning to use, but wow, I’ve been missing out on so much. I hope apple doesn’t go back to the curved designed. I made it harder to hold, taking video at a concert or just messaging. Typing this now on my PM, I really appreciate the 4/4s’s designs
I'd argue that the 4 is actually more important than the 4S for apple. That gorgeous design that really set Apple far apart from the other smartphone makers, multitasking, the first retina display (!), FaceTime, etc.

If an iPhone is to be bought, I always say that S variant models should be bought. So far, I have used models such as 3G, 3GS, 4, 5S, XS. The iPhone 4 was one of the most stylish devices I've ever bought. But it was an unnecessary transition from 3GS for me. Just 3 years later, my device was trashed with iOS 7. At that time, I wished I had waited 1 year and bought 4S. The iPhone 4S received at least 1-2 more updates than its predecessor. Moreover, it did not slow down as much as the iPhone 4. Until the iPhone 4S, 5S and 6S broke their own record, it was the iPhone model that received the most updates.

That phone will unfortunately be mostly unusable in the US when the 3G network in the US is shut down within the next year but it still will be usable in countries that still have functioning 3G networks! :)

Nothing but nostalgia and good marketing. Alongside that phone, Samsung htc and google with their nexus where making excellent phones but Android back than was considered "low class" since apple had a reputation that lasts till this day.
