    Oh, Melanie! I am just starting to carry a copy of Wildflowers of The Carolinas as a way to learn the names of the wildflowers I so love. Most are seeding now so the real tutorial will begin in the spring.
    You inspire me and for that I thank you!
    And I love your beautiful Cornwall and your artistic renderings!

      Wonderful to hear Elizabeth! It certainly gives me a lot of pleasure to recognise and name the flowers.

    I first watched this 3 months ago, and am watching it again. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this type of process video! I'm branching out from watercolor, acrylics, and gouache and starting to dabble in mixed media. I'm a little overwhelmed by several mediums all in one painting, so this really helps me learn where to start and with what! Thanks so much Mel!

    Devil's Button... now I'm curious about the names of wildflowers! I love your videos and art, and when you take us out on location, it's like a mini holiday experience 😄. Btw, I found your channel through Natasha Newton's one, who mentioned you and Kriksis... I really enjoy and appreciate all the videos (and the Creative Catch Up podcast) all three of you produce - inspiring, uplifting, calming and informative all at once🌼. Thank you!

    Hello Melanie! I loved to watch your video with the sound of the sea. It's so relaxing. Your painting process is absolutely gorgeous. I hope I can visit your exhibition with Kriksis and Natasha on our holiday. Autumn is so beautiful with the different colours to paint in. I will have a look at the course you mentioned. Take care. Have a lovely day. Gabi:)

    Mel, as I mentioned in my DM on IG, your beautiful nature sketching videos make me feel alive, dream and hopeful to be more creative! Lizard peninsula is so mesmerizingly wonderful, I wish someday to explore it! I also wish to have more time to take your course, but for now videos is my everything! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! Love, Lia from California.

    Great tutorial, thank you. I am wondering about the grey brush pen you used to draw, it mentions faber castell but I thought you used ecocline? Is the Faber Castell a good brand? It is so amazing to watch you and see the amazing results you create with such ease. Very inspirational.

    • @MelanieChadwick
      @MelanieChadwick  ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to use a mix but still have my ecolines and they could have been used here just as well. I like that these Faber-Castell ones have double nibs! Experiment and play is the only way to discover different ways of working. Thanks Patricia.

    👹 🪻Devil’s Button! Thank you again for another beautiful video. I could spend hours looking over your shoulder to watch you sketch. It’s quite mesmerizing to watch the sketch develop on the page and intriguing to see how you make marks and switch between waterbrushes, paint, neocolors, and pencils. Do you have any issues with colored pencils and crayons smudging or transferring when you close your sketchbook?

    • @MelanieChadwick
      @MelanieChadwick  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Wendi! Sometimes I do but if I remember to pop a piece of paper between the pages if I'm drawing on the other side then that helps to limit transfer.
