- Notes about combos:
1. Directional inputs are often required to achieve the desired effect, and the timing of the inputs can slightly vary depending on your ping. The inputs shown are reliable up to about 60 ping. Any higher than 60ms and you may have to try other timings or directions.
2. When using the grapple to bump into an opponent to extend a combo, you must hold a side direction to cancel the rolling animation after the bump.
3. Combo'ing in this game is not easy, and it's not uncommon for a single hard combo to take a player hours or days of practice before being able to perform it. There are many mechanics to master, so don't get too caught up on a difficult combo before you've got a solid grip on the basic ones first.
H = Horizontal Attack (LMB or RB)
V = Vertical Attack (RMB or RT)
c.V = Crouch Vertical (Uppercut Attack)
c.H = Crouch Horizontal
j.H = Aerial Horizontal (LMB or RB mid-air)
j.V = Aerial Vertical (RMB or RT mid-air)
[H] or [V] = Hold Charge to Focus Level
G = Grapple
DS = Spear Dragonslayer Attack (Precise Charge Release)
1 Click = 1 Input of either H or V
Grapple Attack = LMB While Grappling
F = Ability
P = Parry
Ult = Activate Ultimate
1 / 2 / 3 = Zai's Chain Scythe's basic 1-2-3 chain, can use H or V for 1, 2, or 3

Ya quick counter is 100% reliable now. If you hear people say it's bad, that is old information. Quick parry has gotten changed alot over the last year and is now on par with composite button parry 👍

Can you please make a video teaching the controller players the best practices for using remote weapons? I've always found using remote weapon on controller such a pain and feel they're useless on controllers. I don't know if I'm the only person feeling that way. I've seen PC players making all the cool moves with remote weapons. Yet for me... it's even hard to just aim the target.
This is an awesome video. Im new, and sometimes it felt i was tryign to soak in too0 much information. A whole different breed of PvP in fighting styles and wild button sequences/combos and craft from what ive been playing. One thing i aint wrapping my head around is the auto run on vs off. I played with them both but they both seem to work exactly trhe same? am i missing something here?
Turning it off when you're first learning the game is helpful for controlling your dodges, but I've been playing with it on for months now, auto run doesn't actually stop you from doing anything important
Thank you sm for the settings I've been doing combos on default and I know this will make my life easier lmao but one question. I have moments where I'm doing the like blue focus dodge tech but when I'm by enemies while doing it I find myself dashing towards them when my stick is pointed away, its really frustrating when I'm trying to clutch. You know anything about that?
turn aim assist off. not weak. completely off. all aim assist settings off theres like 3 of them.
dang brought out the controller too now i have no excuse.
Also for the first spear combo I can't seem to get the first jump hit to go through with the original momentum. Am a bit confused. Same with the second halberd combo. The bot doesn't get enough lift to guarantee the follow up verticals
First off thank you for this video and the one after this, super helpful for us Playstation players! But I do have a question. Is there a trick to doing uppercuts after a grapple bounce? Because I can't do the Longsword combo.
The longsword grapple combo is insanely hard on console. The others aren't as tough but that one in particular is crazy hard to land on console

When I try the grapple hook it won’t come out fast enough and he drops before I hit him.
Hey man, so I'm trying the greatsword combo. Should I hold dodge, wait for it to cancel the recovery on the uppercut and rhen mash H as soon as I micro dash? I suppose its just a timing thing but I cant seem to get the standing H to connect while the guy is in the air to juggle for the focus H H ender. Any tips?
Alright if anyone else sees thus comment. The new ender to that combo is a V attack after the H you use to juggle them for a bit. The uppercut V needs to be a sliding (running and pressing crouch) attack, otherwise, it won't let you dodge out of the recovery portion of the attack. The timing is supet tight, especially against the combo bot, but if I could do it, you can do it. :)

Great combo guide but I can’t seem to get the charged strike on the katana after grappling it keeps doing the air strike instead
Try holding the attack before you grapple bump the enemy - if you're doing an air attack, your input timing is too late
i just cant do anything that has to do with the grapple

When I use the charged horizontal on the dual halberds it doesn't lift the person up with me so when I press vertical in the air I just go way past them

Ya you'll want it set to "On" melee aim assist is very good in this game

@@BrowneVisuals I'm not sure how much easier or harder it is to combo on console because of that update, but it did change many things for many players, combo-wise
whats outer threshold for ? is that the same as other games Deadzone outer threshold ?
I think it lowers outer limit, but im not 100% sure

U can do almost every not infinite combo if u have ping below 150-160
Did the first medium katana combo got fixed or must the timing be on point because I can’t seem do get it down

Is Turning Horizontal (and Vertical) Boost really that good when you play game like this with controller? In my opinion it's much easier to train your muscle memory if you set it to 0.
It's really a matter of preference, I just like how it makes it easier to make small adjustments with large movements, while still having a high turn speed

I just use A + X but LB + RB isn't too bad. I'm sure there is a better bind

How do you make the dummy roll out the way like that, mine just sits on the ground so I can’t test true combos
Pull up the training ground settings menu (select/windows button/F4) and change the bots mode to combos training and set his combat mode to on. Enjoy

I can’t get the easy spear combo, it feels like I don’t get as high with the launcher, or I land before I’m able to recover and do the horizontal moves. Been practicing for a while and not sure what’s happening
The first j.H is done before you hit the ground, just spam the input to get the first one. For the second j.H, you must jump after hitting the ground. Hope this helps!

I did see that, after practicing more I’ve noticed I have some issues with other launcher combos and landing quickly, not sure if it could be due to inputs or maybe ping would affect my height? I’ve been loving all the content though, especially the great sword video from several months ago

@@PsyclopsKD with every weapon i’ll uppercut then H or V but it makes me do a aerial V or H instead of a normal H or V like do i crouch mid air to cancel it or wait til i get the floor to (v) or (h) sorry if it doesn’t make sense i suck at explaining
yeah you just have to wait until the moment your characters feet hit the ground, the timing may take some getting used to but there isnt any cancelling going on before you throw the charged blue attack. Hope this helps!
I can’t get that long sword hard combo I never go under them for some reason
It is a very difficult combo
I can't get the c.V after the G, it goes to V. Do you know which input is causing this?
You'll have to tighten up the timing on the crouch, make sure you're waiting until you bump into the enemy, and not waiting too long. Hope this helps!

Hey i know you said it in the video, but locking on how can i do it without having that as a bind. I use lock on with R3 FOR PS5 but you say not to use lock on period
I don't think you can lock on without having it as a bind

@@zuluwarrior8809 target lock is bad because it affects your ability to move around effectively since your camera will always be facing the target. It'll also affect your awareness and your ability to read multiple targets or situations
I have a question that blue focus peopl have different hit for their weapon how can i change that blue focus attack beacuse in the campaign you unlock it but i dont know how to use it in online
Campaign has separate moves, some are specific to campaign

Shouldn't be a ping issue, likely just finding the right timing on the dive bomb attack

What exactly does using Lock-On limit?
Mainly limits your camera, which can influence your movement. So you aren't able to spin the camera away to charge focus in the opposite direction while locked on, and often times looking around while fighting is a good thing to do instead of just staring at the 1 guy ur currently fighting

Set the bot to combo training and turn the combat training on
I tried turning auto run off but it makes me do a dodge 50% of the time after I run
You run by holding dodge. If you dodge when running you do a dodge roll. Hope this helps!
@@PsyclopsKD I mean it makes me start my run by doing a dodge roll a lot of times which I don’t want because it wastes some stamina
@@Stiixk you are either double tapping dodge by accident, or don't realize you are already running when you dodge to initiate run. Dodging from a standstill or a walk will not initiate a dodge roll
Are you on PC? Because a lot of these could be locked behind FPS.
Yes this was done on pc, but they are all possible on console as well

I don't really have any tips for that, ranged on controller is just tough haha. you may try the lock on feature when aiming

Mouse n keyboard has some slight inherent advantages, nothing out of the ordinary. Controller may take a little longer to get good, but can potentially get just as good as a mnk player

@@ahmedbazoka7585 if you're not sure which you want to use and you're equally comfortable with both, I'd say go mnk. But whatever ur most comfortable with will usually be the better recommendation

@@dxku7756 ping that high changes the physics - enemies stay in air longer and it is easier to combo them. Lower ping is just harder to do combos, but I am 30 ping and do them consistently after alot of practice 😁
