Great video! I've been a carpenter for 35 years and a weight lifter for 40. I can honestly say you did a great job! I cant wait til we move in a couple months so I build a couple of your pieces. Probably don't have the room for all of them tho.
This is good stuff man. I've been really looking forward to this one. I appreciate you putting it out there. Keep up the good work. Request: multi station machine (chest press, hack squat). Stay strong.
Heroes in this new world come in all shapes and sizes. And you, sir, are definitely one of my heroes emerging from the current crisis. I am building my garage gym right now and with money short, and equipment all but sold out a few of your clever builds have been invaluable. I magaged to score about 800# im plates, various bars , and a benxh setup before the classifieds in yown went nuts. Thank god I am a diy kinda guy and have all sorts of tools already. I only have like 2 things left to build/buy and I can get back to powerlifting training. These cable towers are seriously clever. I had an idea involving galvanized or black gas pipe for the carriage guides, but this looks cheaper and smoother with the caster wheels. Thanks for sharing your builds man!
thanks alot for this bro, i just got done building a power rack, flat bench and seated shoulder press... if i can do this one maybe my dad might finally give my craftsmanship some credit lmao
This is great. I was all set to use pipes for guides until I saw this. I love this caster and wooden post method. But I'm struggling to understand why you didn't build the weight carriage so the sides fit closely against the post? Why leave a gap and then use metal strips to eliminate the gap? It seems to me that snuggly fitting carriage sides would work just as well to guide the carriage, particularly if you applied some beeswax or similar periodically. I've probably just missed something! Thanks for sharing your work!
This is awesome! I’ve been really thinking about getting the powertec multi station for the past year but it’s crazy expensive. If you can make a breakdown on how you built your version of the machine you’d safe me a lot of money. Keep up the good work!
I have been following this series and love it. I thankyou for covering this work of art. The only question I had is what kind on pullies are the larger black ones you have and where would I find them. Thankyou again.
You can buy them on amazon: www.amazon.com/Forfar-Bearing-Training-Exercise-Equipment/dp/B0792D4CZH/ref=sr_1_51?keywords=gym+pulley&qid=1551811160&s=gateway&sr=8-51
Ever have problems with doing heavy cable curls? I built something very similar and had to add a foot stand to keep from lifting the front of the tower instead of the weight. Did you end up bolting this down or did you just not have this problem?
I had this problem with the first couple attempts at making this machine. I found that making the base longer and moving the weight carriage forward a few inches made a big difference. The machine isnt bolted down now and it works fine but If you CAN bolt it down to the floor I would suggest it
@@powerbornproductions9517 @PowerBorn Productions hey brother i really appreciate your time work and effort you are putting in get this series done and im still anxious to see you uploading more videos of the DIY series. Also i would like to let me know if you are planning to continue to make videos like the DIY because im currently starting to building my own gym and im following your instructions.
Thanks for these tutorials man. I had a question about weights for this. It looks like you would struggle to put a heavier larger weight plate like a 25, 35, or 45 on this machine without hitting the back post Do you only put 10s on or do larger plates work as well? Thanks again for taking the time
I use up to 25lb plates on mine which allows me to squeeze up to 300lb onto the weight carriage. A few simple adjustments would allow even more weight if needed. Thanks for watching
PowerBorn Productions thanks for the answer, I just need a house with a room to do all that 😂 once I got it, I sure will try to build some of your stuff. And I love arm wrestling so, just love the all content. Keep up the great work buddy! Hope to see u one day on some big stage!!
not to sound like a hater but now in 2021 where lumber prices are expensive AF, wouldnt it be better buying a cable machine from a decent website and save the hassle? amazing project though, quite genius actually!
By the way in the future please don't use background music and speak slower. Also if you can actually get someone to film you next to to part you are talking about explaining how would be better. Overall this is a great video but I'm new to woodwork and it's kind of difficult to understand you. I had to watch parts multiple times and slow the video down.
This is so utterly rustic, it almost defines a new genre, like „woodpunk“. I like it.
Just finished building mine and pretty happy about it. I should just mention you're missing a 2x6 and 8 caster wheels in the lists.

Yeah he has some very good ideas. I am hoping I can attach concepts of this to the rack that I built.
That is so cool.
Excellent tutorial dude. I really appreciate you taking the time to lay it all out for us.
Glad I found this Ty Ty for your time and sharing

I guess it is kind of off topic but does anyone know of a good site to watch new series online ?
amazing ;) really good
i have tons of 2x4s n shit laying around this is a good idea. i need a pulley system
Perfect breakdown of what is needed. Great work!!
Amazing cant wait to build it. Looking forward to the next build.
Works like a dream
Like everyone else, I have been waiting for this one! Excellent work. I really appreciate the work you have done on this and for sharing it!
I saw one of your videos where you talked about each machine, it’s purpose and the estimate cost. This is good stuff

So cool.
Thanks brother!. Really helpfull tutorial and with specific photos and dimensions. Really apreciated! :)
Yes! Been waiting for a new video good shit man
This gave me an idea to make lever arms attachment for my power rack, wonder have you ever thought of making them?
Another good video mate - really enjoyed that and has given me some ideas :)
Thank you
You're welcome

Awesome, l'm also really looking forward to this one.
amazing!!!!!!!
Outstanding man! Any idea what the pull ratio is on your design?

That's badass fabercation
Can you make a single pulley machine? I'm interested in creating one but need guidance.

What’s the most weight you put on the cables? Over 200lb?
Where is the link for the donations my friend? You should include it in all your videos!

Is there HD available by any chance?
What is the size of each pulley ?? Write back please ?
Just a question, have you built any incline/decline benches? Looking to build one but not many examples of good ones out there.
Totally agree I'm in the same boat
Which wood did you use?
You're a genius brother! Needa build your own gym and rent that sucker out. Be some good money since you wouldn't have to drop 50 grand on equipment
How tall is this machine?
just came across ur channel and i saw the amazing content, immediate subscribe and like! what kind of wood is this? greetings from belgium!
Basic Kiln dried lumber from Homedepot

I can only find 2” caster wheels.. could I make that work
Where does a person find 1/2” pillow blocks?

Slow speed down to 0.75 if you find it hard understanding the instructions.
E - BOOK ? / PAPERBACK ? - I'd pay to save money.
