    The Malinois with the amazon muzzle is also not fitted properly. It is wearing a muzzle way too small for it. In the pic with the tennis balls, the lab doesnt even have the muzzle connected from the bottom to the collar. This will absolutely allow it to slip upward.

    I keep seeing the flexible lookalike muzzle posted as the Baskerville ultra.

    Great video, very informative, from a Baskerville user 100% correct. The muzzle punches would be horrible with metal.

      it's brutal haha. I had a dog with one repeatedly come at me and I felt like I got hit by a train after haha.

    Great video as always. Baskerville is the brand I typically recommend. They’re really grasping at straws with these photos lol 😂

    Thank you for making this video. I got to say I did fall into the “it’s not bite proof” thing. I didn’t actually notice that on the picture it was actually a different muzzle.

      Yup every single one I've ever seen has been either a different muzzle, or one that was put on completely wrong.

    🙏💕 I bought this muzzle and some time after watched a video (very reputable site) saw them explain how it was not bit proof. I was devastated, I’m not worried about me sticking my finger in there (fair play, deserved to a point) I took this information as able to bite another dog through it. You have reassured me by doing this critique, much appreciated 🙏

      My dog is now by law require be muzzled at all times in public and I wonder if you may do some content covering enrichment for dogs who are required to be muzzled. Our guy loves chasing ball and loves tug. However if I’m not able to do these activities in public places can you suggest enrichment activities while muzzled? Sadly we came across an abandoned ball on a walk and despite being muzzled he was fixated scratching at it trying to pick it up, with your experience can you suggest alternatives. Owner not a trainer so just looking for some advice

      @sharonwhyte2651 we use a plush toy with lots of extremities 😁 I think it's a squid... my dog can still grab it with the muzzle, so maybe a toy like that or flyball tug with tassels might work. Best of luck

    I love that all the people who are “anti baskerville” have probably never actually been on the receiving end of a muzzled aggressive dog. If they had, I guarantee they’d stop recommending those giant cage muzzles.

    Baskerville is great for most dogs! We went through 4 different styles of muzzles before finding one that worked for our breed (even the ray allen one, which by the way is very limited in strap adjustment). I think facial structure and wear time matter though, our dogs have a longer snout. They didn't work for our girls who have aggression issues towards each other. They definitely were safe enough, but we had other concerns and issues with them. We've had the best success with our double padded Irish muzzles (used a lot in lure coursing). My sighthounds don't paw at them because they are cut low under the eyes, unlike the baskerville, which was a constant issue with them. They are also super lightweight and good for long-term wear, where as the baskerville was a bit heavy, and the hard sides aggitated my short-haired dogs with long-term wear. Like the baskerville, they can drink, fully pant, and even take treats/food through it, which is nice. The other nice thing is the irish muzzles come with optional 'muzzle keeper' collar that prevents the dog from getting the muzzle off🤙🏽🐾

      The “cheek irritation” definitely can be a problem as the inside of the straps is a bit abrasive. There are absolutely some strange face shaped dogs who it doesn’t fit quite right with but for 99% of dogs I’ve had no issues with them.

    • @MiracleK9Training
      @MiracleK9Training  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      And with wear time, i think that also depends on the dog for sure. I don’t like having dogs wear muzzles for hours and hours and hours every day for prolonged periods of time In general, regardless of the muzzle (not saying you were / are doing that). But for short term long wear time I think if you’re giving adequate breaks with them off you should be fine.
      I’ll have to look into the specific ones you’re talking about though.

    I really don't like the fact that Baskerville changed from metal buckles to plastic. Any news on whether they will switch back or create a new line with metal pieces instead of plastic?

    • @MiracleK9Training
      @MiracleK9Training  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I could not agree with you more. Not because I think they aren’t secure. I haven’t had an issue with that. But the old style clip is SOOOO much more convenient and easy to use. It’s also easier to get it on a dog that doesn’t want you putting it on them.

    • @Baker7of10

    Hi David! I own the Baskerville muzzle because I saved two sisters from people who had another dog that attacked both these dogs since they were puppies. I haven’t been able to walk one of them without lunging at anyone or anything that isn’t us. She was more affected by the attacks because she was the one that was attacked several times, resulting in a front bottom tooth pulled out when she was attacked. My neighbors have several dogs and they bark and these two lunge. I take them out one at a time on a long leash because I don’t know what could happen if I let them loose. The one I can walk is a little easier because she likes to play so we either tug rope or play with the ball. All this is to ask, would it be a good idea to let her run around the yard with a muzzle on? Could it make a difference in her behavior? My neighbors aren’t the nicest people, so working this out with them is not possible. Thanks in advance!

      @MiracleK9Training  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no, muzzles aren't a bandaid for bad socialization which is exactly what this is. I'm not 100% sure I'm clear on the situation but if these dogs are coming onto your property and that's your concern I'm positive that regardless of if they are nice or not that that is a situation that they could get fined for. If they aren't coming onto your property and your dogs are going to THEM then that is a training issue you need to solve that doesn't need a muzzle.

      @@MiracleK9Training Thank you for responding. There’s a fence between me and my neighbors. The neighbors have a few little dogs and a big mixed breed dog. He doesn’t bark at us(humans) but he does at the dogs. It may not even be aggressive. I don’t know if I should even worry about my dogs going near the fence. I do muzzle the more reactive one on walks. I don’t even know if it’s aggression or reactivity, or what the difference is.

    • @MiracleK9Training
      @MiracleK9Training  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@rosegardington if there is a fence there shouldn’t be an issue. If YOUR dogs are reacting to those dogs reacting to them you need to address that. If not there is no issue.

      I’ve used them with a few dogs. I don’t find the straps very secure at all with a dog that really tries to get them off.
