Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron of France top qualified and set a new world record score of 90.83 for the rhythm dance as the ice dance competition got underway at Beijing 2022.

This choreography is so original!! They definitely made history the way they move their arms!
This choreography is heavily inspired by/based on waacking! It’s a style of dance
Its a famous style of dance already
Kind of like vogueing
It's whacking from the 70s. Not original but a nice revive of the classic style

It's like one person dancing!!! I have goosebumps everytime I watch it!!!
And authentic. The did 'waacking' and worked with a choreographer who insisted on appropriate moves.
This is the best ever, Their synchro is phenomenal, their speed and movement is outstanding their feet at times are so dangerously close , it is amazing to see...and they all make it seem as it is no effort at all. This is the most complicated and yet so entertaining rhythm dance ever. Bloody fantastic!

J'ai vu beaucoup de prestations magnifique,au cour de ma vie ,avec des russes, polonais,roumains,etc , mais jamais aussi synchos et connectés . Tout cela avec un rythme soutenu jusqu'à la fin sans incohérences rythmiques. Du grand art ,bravo. Ce couple ramène le patinage artistique à sa place artistique.
When you think that Gabriella and Guillaume were so nervous, that he felt like throwing up... LOL You sure can't tell that they were nervous wrecks for both their programs.

Their scores are to the roof! Even higher than what Virtue and Moir achieved in 2018. This is their year and they truly deserve the gold!
I think you could say that about every discipline. Also the change in GOE to +5 -5
Actually the french already beated Virtue Moir score some monthes after the olympics, at the world championship. Here, they beated their own score
Very true but the implementation of +4 +5 impacted ice dance scores the most

The fact their first performance was just tragically beautiful, yet then the second was creative and crazy, showed the full range of their talents. Notice how in this one, they were barely even looking at each other most of the time, yet pulling off the moves perfectly, they were that in sync with each other.

been a while since I have watched ice dance. I was turned off when it became more about just striking weird poses, or balances upside down etc. This is what I call ice dance and it was beautiful.
It felt like they were dancing for themselves, not a medal. I think when choreo, music, skill, talent perfectly mesh you get a performance that looks effortless. Bravo!

That was exactly my reaction, because a few seconds in just watching how they move, you know you are watching something outstanding, and then it just keeps getting better until you know they smashed that record.

Some sequences of the RD have the same elements for all the couples. And they can add difficulties for a notation from level 1 to level 4. I think that you recognized the blues part by VM.
Moim zdaniem bardzo wzorują się na duecie Tessa&Moir (choreografia,kostiumy,dążenie do pełnej synchronizacji ). Przeszkadzało mi to w odbiorze tej sympatycznej i uzdolnionej pary.
