Hi Ben and Mary. Yoga improved my proprioception as well and not only while running. I'm more focused too. I started doing yoga 5 months ago and it is now part of my daily training with running. Hope you have fun on your holiday. The scenery is beautiful. :)
Yoga was incredibly helpful to my running when I did the yearlong streak in 2018. I don’t do it nearly often enough these days, but it absolutely is beneficial.
Yep I’m definitely feeling the benefit and going to find a way to embed it in to my weekly routine once I’ve finished these next 30 days. A year long streak?! That’s awesome!
This Messy Happy yeah it was quite an experience. As much mental as physical. Living in Canada there were plenty of cold winter days, or rainy spring days, to contend with but I always got it done. I trained for and ran 2 marathons (May and July) during the streak, and average about 7km/day for the year (last half of the year was more relaxed). But the mental boosts were incredible. Lots of confidence building and realizing that excuses are BS.
Carla molinaro has a really great yoga series for runners on her website. It's not free sadly but I think it's worth it. From doing yoga for a few years I've found it really helps keep injuries away, a couple of times a week seems to work for me.
I love yoga. Beyond flexibility, it really helped with my balance and proprioception. And it just plain feels good after. Croatia is absolutely beautiful.
Ben/Mary enjoy Yoga with Adrienne! I’ve done a number of her 30day programs and found them very good, good mix of techniques and types of sessions to keep you engaged which lead to increased flexibility but like every exercise got to stick with it. Thanks for the vids and the inspiration- enjoy 🧘♀️ 🧘♂️
Hello Ben , I've been wondering if you have been on this situation before. I started running a month or two ago and I got it pretty light and easy but my legs was still hurting. At first i thought it was kind of normal until my body adapted because i haven't run for a really long time and also i was 10kg overweight (now i'm 6kg) and i thought the pain may come from the extra weight. I kept kinda running and resting since then but the pain is still there. It only hurts when i run and also while jumping rope and the pain goes away after about 2 hours. The problem is that the pain comes back everytime i start running, even for a little bit.. The pain is mainly in the back of the leg, right under the calves , basically the tendon is that hurts, and also it hurts on the sides of the calves and something in the front on the leg. Do you know what might be the problem and the solution? I already do some rest, the only thing i'm doing is lightly jump rope every other day, the pain is not that much but still there. Sorry if I wrote too much stuff here. Thanks and much respect ! Edit: I forgot to mention, after the effort it feels like the legs are sore, like a build-up of lactic acid but feels way more intense than the usual soreness, the good thing it goes away after 2-3 hours.
It does sound like something in the region of the beginnings of achilles tendinitis! Be very careful, buddy as it’s an absolute bitch if you properly get it. The jump rope is probably aggravating it too (lots of strain on calf etc). Try rest, cross friction massage, strengthening (once pain is gone). Don’t try to train through it, it won’t work. Also, if you can get a run analysis done (or at the very least - watch my videos ok run technique, film yourself and see if you can spot any issues). Let me know if it works!! Good luck, mate 👍🏻
Thank you!
I did my best marathon after getting injured and doing yoga!
Awesome! It has really helped both of us 😊👍🏻
Croatia is beautiful, my brother used to vacation there. MARY...YOU CAN STAND ON YOUR HEAD??? Insane skills!!!
Ha ha yeah she’s way stronger than old cardboard Ben 😂

I’ve been really looking forward to this one!!! 👍
Good man! 😊
You should have listened to Mumma! Xxx Welcome my little yogis xx
It takes time for things to sink in with me!! 😂

Sounds like a good one but I’m all for free content, hence the Adriene stuff. But good recommendation. Thanks 😊
Variety is differently the best thing in exercise.
Always thought of Yoga. I just never made it a priority (real reason instead of the excuse). I'll have to try Yoga with Adrienne
I was a sceptic to be honest but I’m definitely a convert 🤟🏼

Absolutely right. I’m a big fan too 😊 thanks
Yoga doesn't stop you melting after run, but it does help you not to smell bad after run. It gives your body a natural fragrance.
Ooh that’s something I wasn’t aware of!! Thank you 😊

Thanks Dai, yes we’re looking forward to them. Enjoying them so far (day 3 tomorrow). Thanks for the kind words too 😊
Good luck with Adriane!! Tried a few and found them to be tough! But then again bendy, I am not!!
Ha ha I’m the same! Bendy? No. Strong? Er no also... 🤦🏻♂️😂
