I’ve always felt like Gamma’s design to be so lovably clunky and heavy despite his multijointed limbs, probably due to the animation limitations of SA1. But this is so fluid and cinematic, he’s still heavy but so articulate in this mechanical graceful way, stomping forth like a battle walker yet flying and posing like a superhero. It gives him so much character and I love it.
I always imagined Gamma’s movements being much more stiff and (for lack of a better term) robotic. You’ve really sold me on this more agile, fluid and dynamic take, though. Kinda gives me the same vibe as those old school Bionicle commercials, weirdly enough. (Until Froggy shows up.)

Holy crap, seeing an animated series of Adventure like this would be the BEST way to really see what the narrative could have been like! I love how expressive you made Gamma, and the fluidity of the movement is fantastic! Great work!
Gamma being way more agile here than he usually is portrayed to be makes way more sense given that he was created as a "Scouter robot" to search for Froggy
Honestly the first time since seeing this characters design that I've been like "ok yeah, I can see how he goes that fast". Game animation didn't do it, this did, really sucessfully selling the very long very heavy stride vibe.
You made gamma feel like a robot, which doesn't sound like a big ask until we get into the fact that robots... aren't exactly easy to animate, easy to animate with such accurate steps, gamma feels *weighted*, really heavy thing, especially with the thruster, it felt like the thruster was a hand trying it's best to pull back all of the steel heaviness on gamma, absolutely amazing job

This might sound weird, but this seems like it’s part of a long intro for Sonic Adventure, like it transitions from one character to another, and gamma is the last one before we transition to Tails crashing, leading to the game start screen, I think it’s really cool
i don't know if the "to be continued" at the end there is a set up for another Sonic Adventure related video, but I'll be honest - i'd take an entire series of videos of *just* Gamma running around like this. you've done him perfectly
I miss E-102 Gamma, he was such a fun playable robot character in SA1/SADX back before his successor: E-123 Omega became a mainstay within the main Sonic Roster these days, and after seeing Gamma in this fluidly well animated Sonic CG Fan Animation short, he looks really good in that CG animated Sonic Fan cartoon short already.
Interesting how his eyes cheat a little bit inward and up to try to look up at Froggy when he realizes he's there. Those never moved in SA1, but the movement on them here is subtle enough that it's still believable, like Eggman made them ever so slightly adjustable to account for unknown variables when aiming
