@@rowland5951Reminds me of Adel Taarabt too! Once he heard the rumours that Barca and Real were interested, his work ethic for QPR went down the toilet
Even though he may have not have turned out to be a “class” player, I’m happy that this miracle got his life on track. This channel should make more of these short stories (I still love the other videos though).
I never gonna forget a save that i had in FIFA14 that i can't explain the game literally broke and he score like 40 goals in PL, i never saw Messi or Ronaldo doing numbers like this on FIFA
Im quite sure he touched millions in signing fees and wages. I hope he’s not being too flashy to the point where he goes bankrupt 2 years after retirement. I’m happy he made it and hope that he’s also helping the kids and staff at the Christian place where he was living.
Let's not forget, while he didn't end up being a world-class player some thought he could be, Bebe still did an amazing job for someone from his background.
He lived the dream. Thats ultimately what matters. He may not have been a superstar, but he can look back at his career, especially when compared to his childhood still with great pride. He may not have made it as a superstar, but he certainly made it, as a footballer
Yes I was looking at Nicola soares on youtube I bought him for my Fifa 20 career team and this is he’s stats I thought he’s was good (goals:3)(:assists 2)(apps:28
This is the kind of player you have to respect, and you're always kind of glad that they're doing alright somewhere out there in the footballing world.
I remember reading that Sir Alex was recommended Bebe by Carlos Quieroz then Jose Mourinho spoke about buy him so Sir Alex brought him and the thing that connected Bebe, Quieroz and Mourinho - they all had the same agent.
Am really happy for him reviving his career, to me it's not how you started that matters but how you ended. He might not be an hero in United but he has once put on the United Jersey and played in Old Trafford that make him part of United history which is the dream of many footballers.
What his former coach in Portugal said is so true. There are many players with just that natural skill/talent they get from playing on the streets. No proper formal football education. You see some really good players just dribbling sometimes cause they dont know no better, thats what they do on the streets.
People are too quick to call these kinds of footballers ‘failures’ and/or ‘flops’. It didn’t work out at United, but he’s since got things going and made a steady career playing football for a job in Spain, and has rescued himself and his family from an unfortunate upbringing. I’d have loved to have seen the lad succeed at United, but I’m glad he’s doing well elsewhere.
There is a rumor about Bebe's transfer to Man Utd according to which, his 7m move was a mere cover to pay for fees pertaining to Nani's transfer to Utd. The involvement of Mendes as the agent for both players in this equation, essentially fuels the story. I havent done much research into this personally so take it with a pinch of salt.
Say what you want, his career is a success. Yeah, maybe he was technically not the best. And was a bit of a transfer flaw. BUT he went from homeless to the freaking premier league. People who have had training in prestigious schools and youth teams their entire lives have not even made it to a league and or farm league alone. Just insane, Bebe was saved by soccer.
"Bem-vinda" is actually the female word in Portuguese for "welcome". "Bebé" (as well as the player´s nickname, it also means "baby"). So, basically, Anderson is saying in his banner "Welcome, baby", like Bebé was his girlfriend or something like that
If Man U had kept him and had him training and playing reserve team games then he could have become something big. The idea of loaning out a player is to help get them experience but they need to understand the basics of tactics first. If Man U had kept him in Manchester then they would have been able to hone his talent and teach him how to play the professional game well as well as giving him time to learn the mentality of a professional footballer, this could have help him become a true star of the game
As much as I would blame Bebe for not realising his potential with discipline and hardwork, the blame must also be put on United's tranfer policy and how they bought a player that had no top flight experience in the top 5 leagues, let alone in the premier league.
I love Tifo and I loved this video, as usual, but I really think if the portuguese was a little bit more worked on this would be even better. At least to portuguese ears 😎
Great video! I didn't knew of Bebé's success in Spain. There's a portuguese error though. The masculine form of "Welcome" is "Bem-Vindo", with an O. Bem-vinda is for women :)
There's a mistake in the video, Paços de Ferreira did not survive Liga NOS relegation through a playoff the season before Bebé join. They did that in the season he was there. In the season before he joined they actually made one of the greatest underdog campains in Portugal in recent years, finishing 3rd and qualifying to the Champions League playoff. Their manager was Paulo Fonseca who is now at AS Roma. Despite the mistake, I still think it's a great video. I've somewhat followed Bebé's career, specially during the years he played in Portugal and I always had the feeling he could play at a higher level. Maybe if he had stayed in Vitória Guimarães he could've developed without much pressure and ultimately make a better career. Still, I'm glad he foud stability in Spain, he seems like a good person and his story is truly remarkable
Yeah I remember this guy when he was at Beşiktaş. He was nothing special even in Turkish League, let alone playing at Manchester United. But I don't blame these boys anymore. Football is a golden ticket for them. And that ascention can make anyman's head swim..
What the hell do you want, we buy a player, and he doesn't even play the full pre-season, doesn't even play a single game, before Jorge Mendes found an interest from Man. United, and you wished he was successfull? XD Now, we sold Tapsoba to Leverkusen, and are on our way to sell players such as Sacko and Marcus Edwards, but we'll always be linked to this flop because of Mendes... Mendes is really a character. What an absolute money laundry Gestifute is! I hope my team is never linked with that guy again.
After the his first season of Man Utd, he was loaned out to Beşiktaş. I remember that at the beginning of the season fans was expecting huge performance because he seemed like above standards of Turkish league and it was possible to make his name heard. However he picked up serious injury and he couldnt play for Beşiktaş nearly until april and if that never happened probably he would have came back to Man Utd or he could have been loaned out to other bigger European club than Beşiktaş. I'm sure that migh've been great for Bebe, it might be one of the turning points of his football life.
Amazing European Portuguese pronunciation (without trying too hard and making it sound awkward). At least for a Brit. Just missing the "sh" sounds. The guy who narrates these is great.
Not every player in the world can become Cristiano Ronaldos or decent enough to play in the 1st devisions. He had a rough life to start so I think he is doing well, better people with similar beginnings.
