So I proxied the Power for my Powered Cube. This happened: T1 Island, Mox Sapphire, Time Walk T2 Land, Tinker for Blightsteel We have a banlist for a reason folks.
I wonder if Cloudpost would be on the list? Not only could you use Vesuva and Thespian's Stage to copy it, use Liquimetal Coating to turn Cloudpost into an artifact and use cards like; Copy Artifact, Sculpting Steel, Phyrexian Metamorph, and Mizzium Transrelinquat, then maybe use Stolen Identity to make a token copy of it.
Artistic Kamen Rider Cloudpost is nowhere near that good. Neither is Dig Through Time, Treasure Cruise or Time Warp. Why are these ridiculous suggestions anywhere near here.

My 5th pick is uncertain between jace, the mind scrulptor, brainstorm (and brainstorm-like effects like treasure cruise, ponder, preordain) and swords to plowshares. I imagine skull-clamp, fetch lands and swords to plowshares will be the ones Wedge and co might not include.

Not gonna even mention Temporal Mastery when talking about Time Walk and its power. Also, no mention of Mox Opal, the "fair" mox that can still be used to make any color of mana on turn one, just with a bit more setup.
Loving this two parter. I would have put Tabernacle on the honorable mentions as i doubt it's in the top 5. I love that card. I'm guessing Chaos Orb & Black Lotus are in the top 5, as well as Time Vault & Ancestral Recall. That just leaves on card left... Mana Drain maybe as the 5th?
I remember some kid at a summer camp that I used to go to had a Mishra's Workshop, and he didn't have a sleeve on it or anything of the sort. The kid said the deck he was using used to be his dads. At the time I didn't know how expensive it is, but his dad should've really had his kid take better care of his cards.

Its weird how everyone is saying ancestors recall is gonna be number 1. Still think black lotus out ranks ancestral recall. Cause double black lotus turn 1 into Lord of the pit was a thing....ya or into shivan dragon.

I really think you should have done a list of the Top 10 Best Non Power-9 cards. I think it's almost a guarantee that all of us Magic players on your channel are fully aware there's nothing that can touch the Power 9 in terms of sheer power, so it'd be better I think to approach this based on the lesser-known "best cards". Maybe you could do a video like this in the future? It'd allow for more variety in terms of the slots, and there's certainly a lot of hidden gem cards that are among the best that not many players are fully aware of.
Gregory Lindeman We thought about cutting them out, but we figured cutting out the un-cards and promotional cards was far enough. Putting too many restrictions on the list is no fun. Kinda dilutes the meaning of the word "best" at that point ya know?
TheManaSource I think for the most part people know that the Power 9 are some of the best cards in Magic so I think it'd be ok to cut it out but that's just me. Kinda like what you guys did with the cards that need reprints the most where you omitted some cards because it was understood that they really need reprinting.
I agree. I was really hoping to see a list not so openingly obvious. Power 9 has always been OP, format worping. That's obvious. I wanted to see stuff like Divining top, Grisslebrand, etc. Not a list explaining the top 12 cards.Deluded with Honorablementions taking up 80% of the time.
I owned nearly all of the cards on this list, including a complete set of moxes. They are one of the few cards that I sold when I first got out of MTG that are now worth more than I sold them for.
At my local gaming club, we decided to play a game where we were randomly assigned each other's decks. One person went and got a deck which was designed to specifically not work (had a lot of non-synergistic Ice Age cards among others), and it had Ashnod's Coupon in it. I got this deck. I hid my bottle of drink in the club hall while other people's turns were going on, and I used Ashnod's Coupon as a defence against people attacking me. I was the runner-up of 5 people playing as a result, and the winner (who's deck the one I was using actually belonged to) then spent 10 minutes trying to find my drink because I sacrificed it on his attack. Definitely worth it.
Some counterspells are awesome considering how common, uncommon they are.. but they do require good timing. Or for your opponent to be out of or very low on mana.
I could honestly use the 1 mana discard your hand for one of my decks. It uses a lot of madness, empty hand play, flashback and revival techniques. I'd prefer it if every player had to though.

COOL LIST BRO! ...except you kinda sorta forgot about Chatter Of The Squirrel. Yeah. You get a 1/1 squirrel, but then it's got flashback so you get a second squirrel. It's like a "Buy 1 Cuddly Cute Squirrel Pet, Get 1 Gruesome Blood Drinking Zombie Squirrel FREE!!!"

Chaos orb should be an honarble mention, works very well with workshop, no other chief removal like that for (3), best of the best for silver bullets, finds a place in every format imaginable. I ran an online challenge once with the only bans/restrictions being the rules for this list, choas orb errata to remove target permanent. Orb worked in every sideboard an even some main decks just about.
You mentioned vintage mentor and I guess that you mean Monastery Mentor... I've seen quite a bit of speculation about mentor in vintage and I was wondering if it has seen any progress in the format?
TheRedGauntlet delver is a common. It arguably made a bigger splash - didn't get banned of course so clearly WoTC doesn't think it's as broken, but due to being legal it's played in every eternal format.
Just a thought about time walk. I love extra turns, I love how many shenanigans you can do with it. But 95% you see it being used its just basically like a blue explore...

If not, then the numer one is obviously Contract from Below :) As it is for others, I would guess Lotus, Ancestral, Yawgwill as the top 3, and then something like Brainstorm, Tinker, Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Fastbond, Demonic Tutor, Necropotence. Why is Library of Alexandria banned in commander, while the Bliblioplex is still allowed? They're effectively the same card, but the biblioplex lets you tap to draw if you have exactly 0 or 7 cards in hand.
Im not sure about Timewalk beeing the weakest of the P9. As you Said Always useful. I would say, he is on the same Niveau as the moxes. Twister and Lotus have more impressive effects, but they need the right deck/ situration too. Lotus for example trades Cardadvantage against speed. He IS totally broken and often yumpstart the Kill, but the Idea is even more fair i would say.

Top 5 Counterspells (I am a midrange player, so I might be wrong.) 1. Mental Mistep 2. Force of Will 3. Mana Drain 4. Cryptic Command 5. Counterspell I think that 4 and 5 may be switched, maybe not. Wedge, as a Blue player, iwould like to see if you think this list is accurate, though anyone else's help would be fine too.
I would personally change cryptic command with daze, ib formats with the highest power level, legacy and vintage, i have never seen cryptic played ever, 4 mana is way too high an investment, your counterspells primary purpose are to protect you from ridiculously fast combos (t1/2) or explosive opening plays. If you have to wait until your opponents hand is empty and isnt casting anymore spells to cast your counterspell, its useless

Imo, recall>lotus>yawg will>mana crypt>sol ring, but there are also time vault, chaos orb, and the most broken contract from below.

kinda wish that instead of the power 9 cards being put at the top, there'd be a top 10 power 9 cards where I guess #10 is all the runner ups

Im not sure about Timewalk beeing the weakest of the P9. As you Said Always useful. I would say, he is on the same Niveau as the moxes. Twister and Lotus have more impressive effects, but they need the right deck/ situration too. Lotus for example trades Cardadvantage against speed. He IS totally broken and often yumpstart the Kill, but the Idea is even more fair i would say.
you're too blue not to have cryptic command. so my bet's on that! but personally like to see that eternal bad-man, vampire nighthawk. if only there were room under all those abilities for flavor text... his/hers would be so good.

I think that 4 and 5 may be switched, maybe not. Wedge, as a Blue player, iwould like to see if you think this list is accurate, though anyone else's help would be fine too.
I would personally change cryptic command with daze, ib formats with the highest power level, legacy and vintage, i have never seen cryptic played ever, 4 mana is way too high an investment, your counterspells primary purpose are to protect you from ridiculously fast combos (t1/2) or explosive opening plays. If you have to wait until your opponents hand is empty and isnt casting anymore spells to cast your counterspell, its useless

Yep. I didn't put lotus in the top spot. A lot of the time, you are lotusing into Will, replay lotus. Will is easily the best card ever printed.
Wedge, Bazaar isn’t banned in commander. I use it in my tasigur deck.
