I work in Poundland, we sell hundreds of these a week and they taste basically like Toblerone and most customers say the same thing. They don't sell Toblerone bars now only Twin peaks.
Let me tell you about the dream I had last night. I'm sitting on a old brown couch in the red room, with Laura Palmer and an androgynous child with a cheap plastic violin. The child said "That chocolate you like is going to come back in style!" I asked the girl "Are you really Laura Palmer?", and she said "I'm Antonia Stella bottom tile. But I feel like I know her. Sometimes my arms bend back and make a wonderful sound, strange shape."
No, it was a result of greedy companies trying to be deceptive when shrinking food. They could have easily lopped a few triangles off the end and retained the new weight but historic shape.
Joey Nebulous why would they, this way they don't have to mess with packaging tools and machines, if you don't read the label it's your problem. UK people need to realise that price of everything is going up due to brexit. And it might get much worse than getting smaller hills on toblerone
If it's the same price, and tastes practically the same, and you get 20% more, I'd go for the 20% more, dunno why you said it's pointless, if you can get 30 grams more chocolate for your money and it still tastes as good, then go for more, otherwise you're just paying for brand recognition basically.
I've had one. They don't taste practically the same. The toblerone chocolate is of considerable better quality. Twin Peaks just put in more nougat and honey to hide the fact. It's not bad by Poundland standards but not worth buying except for the novelty. Which after the initial test seemed to be what Ashens was getting at. He even commented that the chocolate was "marginally better Poundland chocolate" which is damning with faint praise really. Also most of the stuff exclusive to Poundland IS poorly made and cheap. It's not like Aldi where I can think of stuff I'd buy over the regular brands. At their absolute best they are capable of a barely passable knock-off.
Sorry if I don't take your word for it, as I've seen many other people that have had it say it's as good, if not better. Like one of the top comment says: "I thought it was nicer than the current toblerone. If anything it tasted exactly the way toblerone did before they tweaked the recipe" I mean it's down to opinion, if you think it's considerably worse, than it's understandable, but for those that can't taste a difference, or think it tastes better, it's a good deal.
@@Loponstorm Yeah I totally agree with you. Here in Germany we have certain M&M copies that cost 1,50€ less and have 50 gram more in it ^^ M&Ms are pretty much the best example of an overpriced iconic food-brand.
Bit more background to add (I'm a Poundland manager FML) WE sell 6 million toblerones at Xmas so we didn't want to piss them off 😂 People are selling those bars for £15 on eBay Mondelez stepped in when they were featured on our documentary back in JUNE it's took this long to sort out I'm fed up of the things lol
I actually bought some Toblerone about a month back, hadn't had it in years. So delicious. I need to pick one of these up if I can, my father is a huge fan of Twin Peaks and would find this hilarious.
I can't get over how BIG they are for a pound me!! I was just in the Poundland near me and bought myself one as I tend to head for the part of the confectionery aisle that has all the bags of sweets hanging up. But 125g (I suppose we are now six years down the line at this point so realistically they were never gonna stay at 180g let's be honest!!) of decent tasting chocolate filled with all those small almond pieces SCREAMS amazing value for me anyway.

There is also a Chinese candy bar called Caesarwave and it's packaging looks almost identical to Toblerone, but i have never seen pictures of it unwrapped.
I actually bought a bar of this chocolate today, the white chocolate. I noticed the size in the video is 180g, my bar is 155g. It only cost me £1 from Poundland, the chocolate is actually tasty. :)
In a world where everything is going down,but the price goes up I'd happily stockpile them,and relish toblerone as it was originally remembered. Cutting my chocolate to once a month. Great video
in Canada, there's some chains that sell generic Toblerones that taste exactly the same, but it's shaped a bit differently. They also cost less than half the price of a real Toblerone.... so what would you choose? The generic ones are even made in the same country as real Toblerones.
I got some of these from the poundland by the college I've been attending, first day, craploads on the shelf, next day, hardly any left, third day, all but one badly beaten & broken one gone... :(
I genuinely thought this was a tie-in with the show and wondered why on earth they were partnering with Poundland, of all companies.

Not only a measure of quality, but value. Advent calendar chocolate is more stable than GBP in these trying times.

There are 5 different twin peaks bars, white, milk, fruit and nut, honeycomb, and dark chocolate.
And £1 for 180g.

Fun fact: I live in Texas and there are restaurants here called "Twin Peaks".. basically another version of "Hooters".
