The reason why I always choose crossbow rather than bow is not because they can deal higher damage. But simply because the "clicking sound" it made when we load the new bolt. It's make it even better when I do some stealth sniping. Feels like using a bolt action rifle.
That and you don't have to worry about drawing the crossbow, when you're ready to fire, it just loads a bolt and then you just need to tap the fire button and it goes flying at full speed. Unlike bows. It's much easier to spam in my opinion.
It was the melee bash for me. Loading a bolt and always having it at the ready, plus a stagger was fun. His stance with the weapon always made me feel as if I was carrying a gun too

I bought my Daedric Crossbow. I didn't realize that the Anniversary expansion was filled to the brim with CC content, yet alone included new crossbows (including Daedric which I've wanted for ages because of how bad the Dwarven one looks with Daedric armor), so when I went to Fort Dawnguard to buy some more bolts and I saw two Daedric Crossbows for sale, I about screamed. I bought both of them immediately, and went to the smithy to turn them to Enhanced Daedric Crossbows. I stored one in my house, but I still keep the other on me, and I'm still actively using it! I was able to upgrade it to have a 468 damage rating, and enchanted it to deal 25 points of Fire damage. If I were to use the alchemy potion loop, I could make it significantly stronger than this, but I don't want to make the entire game trivial, so I'm very happy with how it is currently! It effectively replaced my original Daedric Bow sense it deals significantly less damage (albeit with a slightly better enchantment dealing 30 points of Fire damage), so I stored it and replaced it with a Daedric Bow that has Soul Trap on it. Sense I enchanted my Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow to have Soul Trap on it, I was able to store that as well.

The enhanced crossbow variance are not getting the ignore 50% of armor from an enchantment, they are enhanced meaning they punch harder it's a mechanical thing making them ignore 50% of armor it stands to reason enhancing a crossbow would have an effect like armor piercing
Fortified destruction by 100% makes your weapon enchantments last forver. More over, u can add an additional weaker enchantment and get its effects for free too. U can crank up the damage on destruction enchantment as high as u want with no recharges.

Just don't trust ESO with every piece of advice he gives. Lockpick durability does not reset when exiting the interface. People have pointed this out to him over and over again over the years. I'm honestly surprised he isn't trying to peddle the old misinformation that holding a torch helps make lockpicking easier.
Yeah, he's always got a Daedric Crossbow in that display case of his. I usually wait until midnight to break in and take it without incident. As for stockpiling bolts, well that's usually from defeating Dwarven Sphere automatons. Although if you have a certain CC content, I believe it's Saints & Seducers, there's Bonemold Bolts you can craft at the Dawnguard forge. Just collect as much firewood and bone meal reagents as you can.
I only dowloded the Anniversary addition two months ago, I have tried characters with all weapon types except double handed. Now I have only used the crossbow, it is fantastic and highly effective. I have the Stalthrame crossbow and if you finish the Dawngaurd side quests you can purchase your bolts at the castle. If you get the updated plans you eventually get bolts that explode. Killers. ❤ from a playing Granny.
The best thing to do if you want a sick triple enchantment effect is to get an enhanced crossbow with Elemental bolts use the lightning ones and then get the twin souls perk and enchant your crossbow with fire damage and Ice damage now you are doing a lightning Fire and Ice damage all at once with all of the side effects including from Perks while ignoring 50% of armor add the quick reload perk and your DPS gets higher than a hippie in a helicopter!

nah ill enchant with chaos magic that alone has all 3 elements then enchant with a 2nd one i chose lightening. si i have 4 elements attatched to it then magic bolts makes a 5th spell you can disenchant the champions hammer or whatever its called for the chaos magic
Crafting a full set of craft gear boosting smithing score, chugging blacksmith elixirs and upgrading to get your dragonbone bow to over 500 damage... i cant imagine the crossbow xD

Just did this. For anyone new or on a new playthrough, right when you enter Solitude for the first time, ignore the execution and run straight to the fletchers shop , head straight to the display case and unlock it, you have a short time period to steal the crossbow fairly easily. I arrived at night when the shop should have been locked up but it wasn't. Can't guarantee it but that's how I did it .
Probably best for the crossbow to have 1-2 second paralysis (basically just a short stun/stagger, but darn effective at range and won't eat your enchantment charge as badly) and soul trap 1 second (because chances are that's all you'll need). To really meta game, use exploding fire bolts and aversion to fire poisons. At this point, dragons, automatons, and high level vampires are probably the hardest to kill, because automatons and vampire won't be effected by the poison effect, dragons can't be paralyzed. Thankfully vampires are already weak to the exploding bolt. You may want to make a weapon for chaos and lightning for dragons and dragon priests (lightning damages magic and breath attacks count for dragons as magic and they will stay grounded longer without use of their breath attacks) but chaos and fire will be debatably more useful for the priests. Sadly dragons, dragon priests, automatons have no armor rating so that part of enhanced crossbows is useless here and high level vampire are mostly just health sponges even if they have some armor. The baseline stagger for the crossbow does seem to work here though.
Groovy vid, as always, man. VCrossbows are fun toys. Evenbif your character is more of a spellblade, get one for one of your favourite, probably non-sorcerous, followers. Kharjo, Lydia... you know the ones.

It's crazy how much potential this thing has in endgame by using legit smithing gear and drinking a potion of enchanting before enhancing it to maximum power
With anniversary edition you can become godlike for anyclass because crafting with necromage, azhidals armor and potions will give you ridicilous numbers on your gear...
I want to say that this video is actually outdated now for the remastered Skyrim update. They patched the crossbow that he was talking about in the beginning of the game, the Drick one or the Dedrick however you pronounce it it’s no longer there or you can get from there is a wooden bow and imperial bow and an ancient Nordic bow, just thought I’d let everyone know

i have pets following me, so the dude teleports around a lot. he spawned on top of me upstairs, then when downstairs JUST after i grabbed it, he spawned at the desk. i'm glad i wasn't caught. would HATE to add to my 55465 life time bounty. was debating getting it seeing as i could simply by the dragon bone crossbow. i ended up getting both. i mean. i got all the Orich stuff then skipped over that for Daedric. having a hard time seperating myself from my ebony mail though.
I hope this gets answered. How is Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow (Legendary) better than Enhanced Daedric Crossbow (Legendary) when the latter is lighter and has higher damage?
i went through the steps and managed to get to the room with the display cases. However, none of what was in the cases matched what you show. The crossbow wasn't there.

For some reason when I went into the fletcher, the three-glass case all had hunting bows instead of a crossbow. I play Skon my Xbox and I did upgrade to the full Anniversary Edition. Do you have idea on why I can't see these items?
@@juliebarrette8585 I am on psy. I use a mod by SirRuin called Vanilla skyrim. He rebalanced everything. So everything makes sense. Its perfect. I also use rebalanced encounter zone. With those 2, even if you get a daedric bow, you still require the perks to be stronger. You should try it out. We all know skyrim never was and never will be balanced by bethesda. You can still get strong weapon
Honestly I would go for my Enhanced Daedric Crossbow with Chaos Damage, and Fiery Soul Trap double combo enchantments, because Daedric weapons have the similar effect as slatrim that boosts your fire enchantments. Ps. You can probaly get even more boosted enchantments damage stats by wearing Azidal/Zahkriisos Dragon Priest Mask, Aspect of Terror perk from Illusion magic, maxed out perks Augmented Flames/Frost/Sock from destruction skill tree, and all tree perks from enchanting skill tree Storm/Frost/Fire enchanter (not counting explotes, or Necromage Vampire power ups).
Hey ESO thanks for your videos. I recently started playing Skyrim again and watched alot of them. I actually got a little problem which is I don't think I ever can cured my vampirism. The Quest with Falion is buged an some of the Companiens are dead so they won't make me a wearwolf again. If you know an other or even several ways to cure vampirism please let me know.

Im still using a stolen Dradric crossbow and leveled up my archery to 100 and got a bunch of enchanted gear to increase its raw damage and so far got it to 103 per shot, btw I have not leveled up once and decided to see how much it would take to drop aluidun, he burst into flames after four shots, he's ment to be a end game boss and I dropped him in 20 seconds so the crossbows are kinda broken, drugr death lord one shot, any dragon bar elder dragons three shots, I'm going to see how mirrack fairs against a level 1 character with a broken crossbow, it's clear as day that Bethesda didn't even check how broken the crossbow does to the gameplay, it almost feels like a Dev gun where your one shotting every thing that move's

He just means it is technically a third enchantment as far as the game and files are concerned.

Just pick up the crossbow, carry it to a secluded corner of the shop, drop the crossbow on the ground, then steal it. Faster and way less iffy.

Tip, you can go up north to the tower stone so once a day you can skip the lockpicking process as long as it isn’t a master lock,

You can also just bypass the expert lock if you get the tower stone
Lock picking in Skyrim is ridiculously easy though. You don’t even need to put points into it & can still unlock any lock in game.

i have pets following me, so the dude teleports around a lot. he spawned on top of me upstairs, then when downstairs JUST after i grabbed it, he spawned at the desk. i'm glad i wasn't caught. would HATE to add to my 55465 life time bounty. was debating getting it seeing as i could simply by the dragon bone crossbow. i ended up getting both. i mean. i got all the Orich stuff then skipped over that for Daedric. having a hard time seperating myself from my ebony mail though.
What do you do if the cross bow doesn't appear in the display case?

I didnt know crossbows where in anniversery Edition and i tried this in special edition and was so confused
my fav bow in the game is stil Zephyr. Though never tried getting it at level one usally get it by about level 30-40.

I found a pair of crossbows in a vampire hunters shack. I had to find his body near the thalmor embassy to get a key to the basement

Damn it never occurred to me that figuring out which ranged weapon I want to use in Skyrim would require decent math skills
I like to use the soul steal enchantment for bows and crossbows for filling soul gems.
I hope this gets answered. How is Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow (Legendary) better than Enhanced Daedric Crossbow (Legendary) when the latter is lighter and has higher damage?
i went through the steps and managed to get to the room with the display cases. However, none of what was in the cases matched what you show. The crossbow wasn't there.
I wonder , If you have enough pickpocket skill , trading a dwarven bolt for the steel one in agmaer inventory , will he shoot infinite dwarven bolt in the crate instead?

For some reason when I went into the fletcher, the three-glass case all had hunting bows instead of a crossbow. I play Skon my Xbox and I did upgrade to the full Anniversary Edition. Do you have idea on why I can't see these items?

I like getting the full silver gear then doing dawnguard for my paladin playthrough.
I don't know what game you are playing. It takes me around 100 shots with an ebony bow to kill a mammoth with 100 Archery at level 40.
Unfortunately its gone after update they replaced it with a basic bow what a shame.
I wonder how the daedric crossbow compares against the bow of Shadows in draw speed as can get both at level 1 🤔.
You can get every op thing as soon as you escape helgen in the AE dlc and it ruins the experience
@@juliebarrette8585 I am on psy. I use a mod by SirRuin called Vanilla skyrim. He rebalanced everything. So everything makes sense. Its perfect. I also use rebalanced encounter zone. With those 2, even if you get a daedric bow, you still require the perks to be stronger. You should try it out.
We all know skyrim never was and never will be balanced by bethesda.

doesnt matter. crossbows ignore 50% of enemys armor that passive abilty alone makes it worthwhile
Honestly I would go for my Enhanced Daedric Crossbow with Chaos Damage, and Fiery Soul Trap double combo enchantments, because Daedric weapons have the similar effect as slatrim that boosts your fire enchantments.
Ps. You can probaly get even more boosted enchantments damage stats by wearing Azidal/Zahkriisos Dragon Priest Mask, Aspect of Terror perk from Illusion magic, maxed out perks Augmented Flames/Frost/Sock from destruction skill tree, and all tree perks from enchanting skill tree Storm/Frost/Fire enchanter (not counting explotes, or Necromage Vampire power ups).
This is the first time i hear that daedric items empower fire enchantmens, are you sure thats not a mod?
Hey ESO thanks for your videos. I recently started playing Skyrim again and watched alot of them.
I actually got a little problem which is I don't think I ever can cured my vampirism. The Quest with Falion is buged an some of the Companiens are dead so they won't make me a wearwolf again.
If you know an other or even several ways to cure vampirism please let me know.
The wolf missions must succeed and you become a wolf, it's in the yellow mansion, search for this in youtube and find a solution because I'm Skyrim from 2015

Im still using a stolen Dradric crossbow and leveled up my archery to 100 and got a bunch of enchanted gear to increase its raw damage and so far got it to 103 per shot, btw I have not leveled up once and decided to see how much it would take to drop aluidun, he burst into flames after four shots, he's ment to be a end game boss and I dropped him in 20 seconds so the crossbows are kinda broken, drugr death lord one shot, any dragon bar elder dragons three shots, I'm going to see how mirrack fairs against a level 1 character with a broken crossbow, it's clear as day that Bethesda didn't even check how broken the crossbow does to the gameplay, it almost feels like a Dev gun where your one shotting every thing that move's
I was wondering, I haven't got the Anniversary edition of Skyrim yet (yet, mind you, I'm getting it tomorrow for Christmas!), but are the cities extra fancy like the gate on the Solitude staircase up to the blacksmith there when you upgrade to Anniversary, or is that some sort of mod to make the cities more fancy with extra structures like that?

I just went and looked and nothing but ordinary bows, no crossbows in display or in sellers list. Bummer...

Someone please explain to me what it means to have a “base damage” of one number, but the damage on the screen is something else.
Was it added in a recent update? Because I swear that I've robbed this fletcher in a few playthroughs but I've never seen a daedric crossbow
