That is incredibly impressive! And having the road/dirt/ice options with a palette swap is kind of genius and works nicely with what we know the 2600 is capable of. 😊👍
The community did step up with Sprint Master - as there are hacks made to support the driving controller, though I need to find out there's one for the PAL version, or it's a trip to messed up colour town. I feel like it'd sit nicely against Indy 500 playing against a friend, but not so much in solo mode. If only because of the AI doesn't make for much of a challenge, outside of maybe setting the pace, which does make it hard to stick with for me, especially compared to Indy!
I love that you are still reviewing all these ATARI games and playing them. You do or did the ATARI ST as well. I had all of them. Great to see it. I remember a 2600 game called COSMIC ARK, do you remember that one ?
As it happens, one of the two games I own an actual 2600 cartridge of for the real console is Cosmic Ark. I should add some more to my collection at some point, but there are no really good places to get them near me -- we don't find them discarded by the bucketload like people in the States seem to! :) ST playthroughs are still going, too, playlist is here :) th-cam.com/play/PLqmqFDuRsOscxxlUaQVCVJugnj0p3j9G-.html
@@ThisIsPete yes, you can pretty easily find the ATARI CARTS everywhere. I always thought it was funny about the carts.. BEAUTIFUL ART WORK , if only the games looked like that haha :)
Indy 500/Race is probably a better game overall -- it's certainly more varied -- but this can be fun in two-player mode. Trouble is, as you can see in the vid, the speed just isn't really balanced properly, so picking up the speed-up power-up is more of a liability than a benefit in most cases!

Impressive graphics for the 2600!
They're not bad, are they? Cars that look like cars instead of insects!
This is better than I thought it would be,..That's not saying much. I'd rather play Indy 500.
