So essentially Bohemia is allowing people to hack their game and doing nothing about it putting all the people who play the game at risk? If that’s the case then I have to believe they’re involved with this some how and it’s benefiting them. Especially if it’s been on going and they haven’t made a statement
This is what happens when you try to message B.I. about cheaters/hackers etc "Hello, I apologize for the inconvenience, the banning system is administrated by Battleye, we have absolutely no involvement in the process of detecting cheats/hacks nor administrating any bans etc. I would suggest you contact Battleye directly:" Not joking. They actually could care less in a "we pay someone for that. not our problem." type of way.
The problem with the whole arma engine, is that it runs on a scripting engine called SQF. If someone has found an exploit in SQF, then by spoofing a server you could perform remote code execution. This is bad.
Both official and community servers are flooded with cheaters. Its just on community they have to be less blatant. True official servers are safe, community modded are a security risk. This is why official servers have become far more popular lately.
Its not Impossible. The malware thing has been around a long time in games if you wasnt careful in cs 1.6 you could've ended up downloading malware from the mods that would automatically download when joining servers
With vanilla not possible With mods kinda-ish possible but would good news would be easy to spot if you know which mod to look at. Not sure how much work this would be to make one however with the limitations dayz has tho

I will say, I don't think you have malware but if you wanna talk about it I can try my best to help. Typically, Malware and such has to be downloaded onto your computer and the only way I can think of that is through a mod and if you didn't download a mod, Steam usually makes sure games cannot hack you from simply joining a server. The most they probably have is your port IPv4
I been saying this for awhile. They need to sale their rights to another developer. They allow things and break more stuff than they do good. It's insane
It's worse the devs really only care about "vigor", that's there money maker. They have battle passes skins and it's almost pay to win pvp 🎉 yet DayZ is still broken and its hard to enjoy.
@@Hydro0516 Yes, and it also sounds like they could use the server pop spoofing trick that they were talking about in the original video since it is server-side. All I was saying is that if you load in that way, as depicted in the video, you can be assured you did not download a malicious mod.

How do I tell if I’m playing on the safe official servers Dayz made servers or should I just completely avoid official servers all together and play some other modded servers that I enjoy community tab
I haven't played a official server for years. Not sure why anyone would. The only way of them to put anything on your pc would be though mods. Playing a server doesn't allow that server to install malware on your pc unless they would get you to install some mod.
I had a high pop Namalsk server coming up first on Official servers sometimes. Malware detector warned me on an unofficial server so I never play on modded. More likely it happened on a modded server if it is that maybe.
I know this is easy to say rather than do. But all they need to do is add in a authentication check to see if its a legit or fake server. Have a list or encryption keys to keep everything safe. or something.
Wow what a crazy situation. The devs seem to be more interested in bringing new guns and stuff into the game to appease the newer p[layer base its received. Vs fixing many of Dayz's biggest issues with hackers and cheaters.
Wait is it actually possible for the Day Z client to do arbitrary code execution? How else would you get a keylogger installed? That's not just a red flag or a signal flare to avoid playing the game but a damn nuke. That's one of the worse vulnerabilities to have in software and if this is the case then it's damn near borderline criminally negligent.
The game is in such a bad state this update, has anyone else noticed holding right click to aim down sights no longer works? You now need to manually press middle mouse button (by default) to ADS, it's so frustrating
I don't think it's a virus or malware if your computer is running hot, a gaming PC has plenty of power and should not be affected like that. It sounds more like they are installing a crypto mining software on your PC, which requires huge amounts of system resources. This is why it gets hot and fans ramping up. It could be a virus with malfunctioning code, but it's not likely.
If they actually get a keylogger in this game through a join server button then what's to stop anyone doing this on any game, this is huge sketchy vibe. RIP online games I guess 🤷♂

DayZ has always been like this. Nothing new even when it was a Mod for arma II. the same issues, same shit different day different year.
So essentially Bohemia is allowing people to hack their game and doing nothing about it putting all the people who play the game at risk? If that’s the case then I have to believe they’re involved with this some how and it’s benefiting them. Especially if it’s been on going and they haven’t made a statement
Modding community debunked the security part weeks ago, you are safe
This is what happens when you try to message B.I. about cheaters/hackers etc
"Hello,
I apologize for the inconvenience, the banning system is administrated by
Battleye, we have absolutely no involvement in the process of detecting
cheats/hacks nor administrating any bans etc. I would suggest you contact
Battleye directly:"
Not joking. They actually could care less in a "we pay someone for that. not our problem." type of way.
Crazy.. Hope the workaround with hovering over the IP works for you until they (hopefully) fix it
Tell Bohemia to get a AI to monitor their ports
The problem with the whole arma engine, is that it runs on a scripting engine called SQF. If someone has found an exploit in SQF, then by spoofing a server you could perform remote code execution. This is bad.
Both official and community servers are flooded with cheaters. Its just on community they have to be less blatant. True official servers are safe, community modded are a security risk. This is why official servers have become far more popular lately.
Its not Impossible.
The malware thing has been around a long time in games if you wasnt careful in cs 1.6 you could've ended up downloading malware from the mods that would automatically download when joining servers
With vanilla not possible
With mods kinda-ish possible but would good news would be easy to spot if you know which mod to look at. Not sure how much work this would be to make one however with the limitations dayz has tho
people used to do this to hide their base servers back when public servers existed
Wait is there a possibility of getting hax from community servers?
I think its from mods. Modded stuff isnt checked so there can be malware hidden in the code
Official servers are busy because modded servers are a security risk.
Bohemia really doesn`t do anything for their game exept for dogshit updates noone needs. We have bugs, cheaters and now this...
i went on a few non official servers and my pc had been running slow. i don’t play anything other than dayz and some other stuff off of steam, maybe dark and darker so i had to do a factory reset due to not being able to open my files.
Did it help ?
LaunchZ launcher fixes this issue - replacement for DZSA, filters out servers faking pop, plus fake servers
Ha, thanks for getting out the word brother ;)
thank you for bring this to light.
Damm this is the same reason why I left rockstar and the gta series. The dev's just don't give any shits about it and let modders destroy the experience for casual players. Not sure If I want to continue playing dayz because of what's happening.
Stop playing official lmao problem solved
@@staldani nothing like the official experience
@@Faulty421 I mean there is plenty of vanilla community servers so your wrong. Official is only if you like beating new players or being able to combat log
He’s right. Don’t play official. Most community servers have an even better survival experience than official nowadays anyways. There’s a reason most streamers don’t play official servers. Too many cheaters. But in any survival game with company ran servers this is a common problem so it isn’t surprising.
Its not that they dont do nothing about it its just suchs a huge problem which is really hard to fix
I must have joined a lot of these, several times I’ve joined a new official server and has random stuff in an inland town without ever playing before
My DayZ vanilla launcher is full to the brim of Chinese/some kind of fake servers, like, when I mean full, I mean full, it's 95% populated with shit and it's been that way for over a year now, I honestly can't use it I a have no choice but to use the DZSA launcher as that still works fine, but I really don't know what is up with the vanilla launcher, it's completely fucked and it looks like no effort is going into fixing the problem, I've searched online and have seen many other people are having the same issue, I've reported it and I'm pretty sure others have to, yet nothing happens, so fuck knows whats up adn fuck knows when it'll get fixed, if it ever gets fixed, sigh
Thanks for the heads up. I just bought the game and have not played it at all yet, so this was super valuable information.
I’ve played it for 1 year. And since my pc has had issues. So for your own safety refund it if you can.
I been saying this for awhile. They need to sale their rights to another developer. They allow things and break more stuff than they do good. It's insane
Hit the like, share to your fellow Dayz players
I just recently downloaded Dayz. What servers am do I suppose do I play on if official servers are not safe?
It's worse the devs really only care about "vigor", that's there money maker. They have battle passes skins and it's almost pay to win pvp 🎉 yet DayZ is still broken and its hard to enjoy.
If you are able to load into these from within the vanilla game, in game menu with no mods loaded, no additional mods can load.
Technically but data can still be changed on the server side and the owners can also sniff your IP
@@Hydro0516 Yes, and it also sounds like they could use the server pop spoofing trick that they were talking about in the original video since it is server-side. All I was saying is that if you load in that way, as depicted in the video, you can be assured you did not download a malicious mod.
The hacker problem can get real bad on Dayz i fear it is nearing that point. Also many of the servers also fake their ping some how to stay at like 28 or 32 stable.
They haven't asked about my extended car warranty yet. I trust em :|
Wait till he find out about the tree hit box’s being nerfed rip tree snipers
Servers be like "friendly friendly!"
i meet Sumrak every morning on my way to school, imma comfort him... dont worry guys.
this needs to be shouted from the roof tops. . this is so baaaad
Hey does this effect consoles or is this a soley a pc problem? Also love your content man i hope your able to fix your computer
It wasn’t key logging for a start - and if it was, why would you be concerned? Watch a lot of CP in your xbox?
It’s a sever scam. It’s been addressed weeks ago and is nothing like monsieur Broccoli is doom-saying here

There is a RUSSIAN NAMALSK server called "MANHUNT" and they impersonate so many other namalsk servers... you try to join and it directs you to their server.. its so weird
Some weeks ago I tried that dayz namalsk official with my friend but nothing really happen. Neither we could join but none of us got any problems. Im starting believe that fake copy server of the chernarus is the real problem I dont know or maybe theres some different effects for each os us
Day Z has never been good
DayZ has never been this broken it's sad. Usually the game is somewhat playable but this update really screwed PC and console.
Barnhemia
Damn that's messed up, thanks for the heads up 🥦🥦🥦🥦
Polvito my dear sea bass thank you for the announcement
Since when is this happening? I used to play official servers like 3-4 months ago and now im curious if i got some kind of malware on my pc.
Possible mate. Those servers have been up for years
@@Reebus.LCU. aight
@@Reebus.LCU.how do you fix it if you’re affected. I think I might been on my pc. And factory reset doesn’t help.
How do I tell if I’m playing on the safe official servers Dayz made servers or should I just completely avoid official servers all together and play some other modded servers that I enjoy community tab
Community for sure
I haven't played a official server for years. Not sure why anyone would. The only way of them to put anything on your pc would be though mods. Playing a server doesn't allow that server to install malware on your pc unless they would get you to install some mod.
after watching this entire video the only question that lingers on my mind is why do you play official servers to begin with?
This is actually pretty concerning if left alone.....
Or... Plot twist: it's really just the devs to kill off DayZ to introduce DayZ 2.....😮
I had a high pop Namalsk server coming up first on Official servers sometimes. Malware detector warned me on an unofficial server so I never play on modded. More likely it happened on a modded server if it is that maybe.
Community modded servers are high risk.
I know this is easy to say rather than do. But all they need to do is add in a authentication check to see if its a legit or fake server. Have a list or encryption keys to keep everything safe. or something.
Loving the content bro always happy to watch some dayz especially when it’s to warn others about the situation stay safe 🥦
this was a problem in rising storm Vietnam too
Wow what a crazy situation.
This game has too many exploits, I’m tired of duplicators and boosting in bases. It legit makes me not wanna play the game anymore
Thank god someone is saying something about it
I'm looking at this server now and it says it's down. Thanks for the heads up.
Pretty new to this game, thanks for the heads up!
If they actually get a keylogger in this game through a join server button then what's to stop anyone doing this on any game, this is huge sketchy vibe.
RIP online games I guess 🤷♂
He is spreading misinformation. There is no malware or anything that installs on your pc. Modders have already checked it out weeks ago and it is not dangerous.
Sunnyvale allow hackers even whitelists them from being banned. Server owner also sales admin privileges, don't waste your time. (Watch "AnarchyHD reveals Sunnyvale" video)
thanks for the heads, always looking out for the community!
