    Can you use this charger with a MagSafe case?

      Hi John,
      Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to try this with a MagSafe case. I'll pin this comment though and hopefully someone can let us know. 🙂

      I'm not entirely sure, but I do have a phone with a thick OtterBox Defender case and it works. Results MAY vary depending on the phone and case. But MOST cases work. 🙂

    My ottie auto sense 2 will not open automatically when my CRV is running - only when in accessory mode. My original ottie (as shown here) worked when CRV was running. Works fine if wired into home plug. Anyone else experiencing this?

      Hi Dennis,
      It should. The arms open very wide.
      The bottom arm may need to be adjusted so you can align the wireless charging coils though.
      My Z Fold3 is a tall phone as well, and I had to adjust the bottom arm to align the wireless charging coils and wireless charging worked.
      Hope this helps. 🙂

    are you able to charge with the device as well as plugging in the usb lighting from the bottom at the same time? would that cause damage to the phone?

    • @TechCrackedWeekly

      Hi Max,
      That's a great question! The devices I've tried prevent both methods from being used at the same.
      So if charging wirelessly with this device, you can't use a cable at the same time. 🙂

    Is the clamp supposed to work without being charged because mine won’t open

    • @TechCrackedWeekly
      @TechCrackedWeekly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jannelle,
      The built in battery is backup from the power source, but once it's depleted, the unit needs to be plugged in to recharge the built in battery and power up the clamp to open it. 🙂

    • @jannellemeans8293
      @jannellemeans8293 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechCrackedWeekly ok mine would not work when I started. I may not be explaining it right. But when I first put it together in the car, the buttons for the clamp would not open when I pushed them. Is it because it has not been charged?

    • @TechCrackedWeekly
      @TechCrackedWeekly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the battery doesn't last too long, but just long enough to be able to open the clamp after it's not being fed power. Ideally, you want to keep it plugged in. That's correct.

    Hi, I have a Iphone 11 Smart Case. Think this windshield mount handle work for this case? And the wireless charge will work?

    • @TechCrackedWeekly
      @TechCrackedWeekly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi William,
      It depends on the thickness of your case. Is this a battery base you are using? I'm not entirely sure, but depending on thickness, it may not fit in the clamp.

    • @TechCrackedWeekly
      @TechCrackedWeekly  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may have to remove the pop socket to have charging work due to the increased distance from the wireless charge coil.

    No one ever goes over if you can use a wired charger with this mount. I assume you can based on the feet, but I wonder how difficult it is to connect the cable once the phone is in the mount. Qi charging is convenient, but just too slow in most cases.

    • @TechCrackedWeekly
      @TechCrackedWeekly  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jazzin,
      Are you talking about plugging it into an outlet? This does work.
      In fact, I thought about buying one for indoors.
      The cable plugs into the back of the mount, which is possible to do but hard to see if it's mounted to a windshield already (coming from personal experience).
      If there is anything I missed, please let me know.

    How do you charge the stand itself?

    • @TechCrackedWeekly
      @TechCrackedWeekly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Marie,
      The stand is actually charged by a USB cable.
      It gives the unit enough power to open and close a limited amount of times. 🙂
      The wireless charger works as long as the whole assembly is connected via the USB cable. 🫡
