To give an idea of how terrible the Black Rage is, when the Black Rage first manifested in the Blood Angels during the Siege of Terra, most of the Blood Angels planetside started murdering the Traitor Legions super hard and screaming about killing Horus like lunatics, and it was so bad that the Traitor Legions didn't just retreat, they *RAN AWAY IN FEAR.*
For those that don't know, the Emperor proclaimed that his Space Marines would 'know no fear', and by God did he mean it; all Space Marines are psychologically conditioned through hypnotic indoctrination and CRUSHING training to essentially stop feeling fear, so the threat of pain, torture, death, and the existential dread of the 40k universe stops affecting them entirely, and it takes a LOT to override that conditioning and make a Space Marine feel genuine fear towards something, which is why Konrad Curze and the Night Lords were so infamous during the Heresy; they ran terror campaigns against the Loyalist Legions and they *ACTUALLY SUCCEEDED* in scaring them, although that's more a reflection of Konrad's prodigious knowledge and mastery over psychological warfare, because the Night Lords Legion as a whole are cowards and scum that flee the moment they think they might be in a dangerous situation.
Back on topic, making Space Marines afraid is hard, but when the _World Eaters,_ the blood-crazed berserking psycho-murderers of Khorne, and the _Emperor's Children,_ the depraved degenerates of Slaanesh that _get off_ on being stabbed to death, are both *RUNNING AWAY IN FEAR* you KNOW it's bad...

@@mordredpendragon1235 Well there's two things you need to remember.
1. The Night Lords were never intended to be used against other Astartes, because obviously the Space Marines were never created with the express purpose of fighting one another, and while the 8th Legion were always dangerous, it was only under Konrad's leadership that they truly excelled in the field of terror tactics.
2. The mental conditioning that Space Marines go through can break down. Case in point? The Astartes were originally programmed to be loyal to their superiors, their Primarch, and the Emperor. This obviously didn't stick entirely, because the Traitor Legions sided with their Primarchs against the Emperor, and this was simply because they were so outraged by the perceived injustices and lies of the Emperor that they simply broke the conditioning. This is also true for their fear conditioning; keep breaking them down, and even Space Marines will scream in fear eventually, and there are certain things even they can't handle. Plus, fear is part of a survival mechanism to recognize and be wary of threats and dangers, and so the presence of self-preservation instincts and the ability to recognize threats and danger means that obviously fear is still present, even if the emotional response is being suppresses by cold logical reasoning.

44:08 I mean, the God Emperor has been canonically confirmed by Malcador to be a master shape shifter in one of the 40K books. So much so that even the Emperor often wondered if people saw their visage the way he intended, or if mid conversation/situation he would just stop functioning as a physical being. Like talking without any mouth movements, or accidentally thinking out loud into the Warp itself. Or his physique shifting into other forms subconsciously because of how much power he had, and how second nature his shape shifting became. Given that in 40K lore, he was beings like Jesus and Moses before his first Galactic Crusade, it is possible.

the reason why they can't move the emperor is because
one: nobody truly knows how the throne works and so tinkering with it to get the emperor into a dreadnaught would moast probably shut off his lifesupport and kill him for good
seccondly: the emperor is currently used as a psychic waypoint for all of the imperial fleets warpers in order to get back home
You know theres also a planet busting nuke strapped to his chair thatll explode if the emperor is removed

Thirdly the emperor is sealing a warp breach created when Magnus the fool psyched a hole into Emperors webway .... causing a massive demon invasion ..... that has the potential to destroy Terra or send it right into the warp and create new permanent Warpstorm in the Sol system

@@Ower8x Not just a Warp Storm but potentially the second Eye of Terror, tearing the universe into two again, right in Terra. Not to mention Cawl is like the smartest guy in the entire Imperium and even he's unsure about the Emperor. If we're lucky and he indeed is a perpetual and revive himself, humanity is still fcked.

29:50 so it was once the case that 40K was *basically* Warhammer Fantasy but in the future. Every faction was represented at first (there were legitimately futuristic skaven and dwarves), but over the years a lot of them got ret-conned away or declared extinct in the lore.

Unironically Mark of Chaos is a severely underrated Warhammer fantasy rts especially when your hero starts dueling an enemy hero and you get to use their cool over the top duel skills and abilities, plus the Chaos the storyline where you get to choose between Nurgle or Korne and get demons attuned to each one to help and the ending is changed too based on the one you choose. Also, you have got to play or atleast try Total War Warhammer it's so good and so fun and the amount of factions and lords you can play as are ridiculous, also Druchii > all other Warhammer fantasy races.

Unfortunately the emperor can't become a dreadnaught or some kind of super dreadnaught. Because if he or the golden throne left Terra then the hole magnus the red opned up would let demons invade Terra. So no Dreadperor for you XD The emperor is literally sitting on the toilet like that dude from dreamcatcher while the alien buttsnakes are trying to get in and nom Terra.
yeah his bony ass is basically acting as the proverbial finger in the dyke, if he were to be removed from the throne the webway portal in the palace would rip open a second Eye of Terror on Terra. wiping out most of Segmentum Solar along with it.
