Most superhero comics ARE essentially soap operas with fistfight scenes, so that hasn't really bugged me. While it is at times a bit hokey, "Supergirl" captures the optimism and Silver Age-style fun and upbeat adventure, as opposed to the Zach Snyder Murderverse which mistakes grimness with depth and maturity, it's a twelve-year-old boy's idea of what "dark" is, the Nolan Trilogy did "dark" so much better.
