This is why I love your podcast. I do not have access to coaches, nor am I a person who makes friends very well. My need to be proficient at what I pursue is paramount. Having Aaron on your podcast has made me a much better Archer and successful hunter. Thank you gentleman.

Love the rubber band play! Don't miss a beat with the convo when it goes flying at 51:48. Haha and the face Aron makes!

I listen to the podcast and watch the vids. I built a set of Rampage arrows because of you guys ! great arrows. I have a question. Does the tapered Outsert effect arrow flight in any way ?

One thing I'll add with the trend/ fad of having the housing out really far is there can be an advantage but most guys will stick it out there cause they see everyone at the range do it but you definitely need to make sure you torque tune your bow if your going to run a really long dovetail, this is making sure the rest is off the shelf enough to match your sight housing in order to account for grip torque

If i have 141 grains up front and the spine chart is telling me that i need a 340 spine arrow, should i go down to 300 spine. Im shooting a 29.5 inch arrow, 65 pound draw weight and 30 inch draw length. Thanks

brian check out scott long horn hex its a semi back tension with a wrist strap works great for hunting you cant punch it but you have full control squeeze if you need to speed things up

I was wondering about trying a hinge, I have tried both a hinge and back tension, but typically use a wrist strap release. I find when transitioning from a trigger to a hinge I am not able to execute a the shot due to the draw length being to long and not able to execute with pulling through, some of this I can attribute to the release being longer adding to my draw length. So long way to my question, is this typical that draw lengths are different with the different releases? I really wanted to try and like a hinge/back tension release but with my bow would have to change modules to adjust draw length so ultimately ended up staying with a trigger and a really heavy spring. Also noticed that there was a significant change with my peep location due to changing anchor elevations between the two different style releases...any comments on that as well?

Just spoke with a archery company today. I asked about getting some outlaws set up for this season. The owner asked why would I pick such a low end arrow. Listening to the podcast Aaron seem to love the outlaws which is why I would choose them. Are the Spartans that much better. I trust y'alls opinion a lot.

    • @GrittyGearAndPodcast

TheCourtneyandAdam ~ Aron has been very candid about how the Outlaws are a very economical arrow. It's true that they're not as high-end as other arrows in the Black Eagle family. That said, they're great arrows. Having used both arrows extensively, I like the rampage and the spartans better because I prefer a smaller diameter shaft. But if you're price sensitive, Aron has proven that the Outlaws are awesome arrows that fly true and very effectively kill big game. I hope that helps. You really can't go wrong with any of them.

Gritty Bowmen thanks for the response. I'm shooting 60# at 28 in and shot the vintage arrows last year. Would it be better to go with the Spartans or rampage. I will be ordering for xxx again this year.

Some good info here. I really like that Aron doesn't preach or say there's only one way to do something. He just provides his insight based on experience. Brian, I've watched several of your podcasts and there's nuggets in each of them, but I find your fidgeting and phone checking very distracting as a viewer. It gives the impression you have more important things to do.
