Thank you for coming to the premiere of the video! I'll be sure to use this format for the following 2 demos! Yes, you heard that right, Deku Palace is coming out June 3rd, and somewhere late in the year, probably fall, the yet unreleased 9th demo as well! I appreciate you all coming down for this short demo!
Before the demo begins I just wanted to encourage the team behind M. Bulteau’s Majora’s mask. From the artful shillohuetes, to the stages, to the characters portrayals, to the fantastic renditions, you guys captured the heart and soul of the game. You all put a great deal of time, energy and love into these videos, which we all indeed notice. Thank you so much.
I never thought I would hear a song that captures the frustrations, desperations, and confusion of the mayor; the concerns of the safety for the citizens from the soldier; and the concerns of the financial and traditional aspect of the the town from Mutoh. You good sir, have done exemplary work. I would love to see an entire opera that goes over each character’s troubles that relate directly to the story of Majora’s Mask in some way. If I had the money, I would pay for the entire thing. Because this is AMAZING!
Thanks! It doesn't go through every character, that would be unwieldy, but it showcases a few things while following Kafei in a deviation from the original story.
This is one of those pieces i can't stop returning to. I remember as a kid i would waste precious time in the mayor's office just to hear this theme, and when i found the first version you posted all those years ago i was so happy! Truly you have been making an exceptional job, in the majora's demos and everything else, you're amazing! I really wish there was a way to hear the old one tho, i love both versions and really liked the changes you did for this one, but i have so much nostalgia for the old one... Anyways, keep it up, you rock!
I was just casually looking up music from this game when this gem got recommended to me. Holy cow, the singing was quite amazing and captured the mood quite well! Definitely earned a sub from me. ^_^
Watched it first with like 200 views on the Original Update with siouhettes kinda behind a beetsheet of sorts. Love this rendition and the effort and genuinity behind this! Keep it up and give us the Chance to See this on the big stage ❤️
This captures the exact scene of the councilroom meeting. I love this so much, thank you for all of your hard work. Something that seemed so simple to solve in the game as a kid, but in a way it makes sense why there would even be a meeting for this in the scope of things.
I have heard this song now again and again. Over severall years in fact. If i remember right there was even an earlier version. I still love it! this is true art, not only the effort it took for the music but also that of the actors. Majoras mask as a game is art in itself and im glad the director of all this thinks so too. My good sir i can only hope you keep on going because your work certainly deserves so!
This -really- deserves more attention. I've been following this for years and I'd almost given up hope that the project would produce another video. This sounds great (although part of me misses the lighter pitched Mutoh, maybe just because I've listened to the other one so much). Here's hoping you get to complete the full opera! Out of curiosity, is everyone involved actually professional opera singers? The singing is incredible.
it's been a long while since I found a gem like this. This deserves more recognition, cause it is really something special, from the acting, to the music, to the lyrics it is all so good! I'm ashamed I didn't find this sooner.
Oh my Hylia I'm dying THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! I will hear it again and again until I can follow all of the voices. They've improved a lot since the first demo... I am so in love right now!!! I'll be waiting for the next demos!
I've got one thing to add to the debate and one thing only: HAAARR *gesticulates with hand* Really though this is amazing, well done for sticking with it
Has anyone else noticed how this year has created similar debates to those in Majora's Mask? Ever since 2020 began we have had widespread fear and panic over COVID-19, murder hornets, and social unrest. COVID-19 alone has raised the question of whether or not we should resume life as normal or quarantine as much as possible. We all want safety and security and just like the characters in this game, we have different viewpoints on how we can accomplish this. More importantly, the arguments in this song make me think about the Christian viewpoint. By nature, we want to preserve our lives and flee death. The argument in this song is one that happens between our rational mind and the spirit with the soul/psyche or mind in the role of the mayor. Ultimately, the argument will have a moot point unless there are clear signs of something happening. Think about it. I would love to know your thoughts. :)
Eyyyy. Glad to see an update to this piece. The old version is one of those songs I keep returning to from time to time. That, and this, really captures an argument in music form. Love it!
holyshit this is the 7th anniversary? where did time go?? Homie this version is lit! i like the more operatic tone this time around, it reminded me abit of Der Freischutz 2nd Excerpt where the husband and wife are arguing. Can't wait to see Deku Palace with the same treatment!! Keep it up homie you're kicking ass!
Time passes, people move.... Like a rivers flow, it never ends... A childish mind will turn to noble ambition... Young love will become deep affection... The clear water's surface reflects growth... Now listen to the Serenade of Water to reflect upon yourself
When I first heard this, I wasn't expecting much, but this was a absolute pleasure to listen to. Opera fits Majora's Mask well surprisingly, that or the amazing direction just makes it work. This and the Deku palace are my favorite! I'd really love to come watch this when it comes to fruition..
Oh wow, has it been this long? This was one of my favorite songs for the project back in the day. Haven't seen the old one in a while, but I think I noticed some changes? I like it!
I remember stumbling upon this so many years ago. I can't believe it's been almost 10 years and I'm still waiting patiently for the full opera and will be there opening night when it opens!! I love this project and it's such a unique take on rearranging the music and themes from one of my favorite Zelda games. I love that chord at the end before the horns come in with that intensity. and Deku Palace is still my favorite from the demos! I will still gladly keep supporting these video and waiting patiently for the final version of the opera, no matter how long it takes!
I'm not gonna lie. I've been following this since I was a kid in high school or middle school? I'm 21 now and I remember you telling me you would remove the original and I was concerned it wouldn't be as good. But as a lover of musicals I was skeptical if I would love an opera sounding version and I must say I think this is the best improvement possible. I love everything about this and love opera now kinda? I'd pay money to see this in a theater for sure! Best of luck I wil continue to support I only wish I could do more other than like share and subscribe
I was thinking about how much this argument is similar to the situation we all are living during the pandemic of SARS-CoV-2. Every character embodies a large range of people. Mutoh makes me think about the virus deniers or the conspiracy theorists, as he explicitly says that the rumors about the falling of the moon are "lies". Also, he affirms that Viscen is a "coward", exactly as people who wear masks and practice social distancing are called. Anyway, by telling that "preparations must go on" he also embodies the people who fear to lose their work or earn little money and want life to continue unchanged. Viscen, on the contrary says that "tomorrow will be our last dawn". He clearly represents the people who are actually worried of the possibility of contagions, maybe because they are already fragile or they have got relatives with some serious pathology or immunodeficiency. As he is interested in health by saying that "everyone must flee to safety" probably Viscen also represents the scientists, who know what to do in order to avoid the spread of the virus, theoretically. Dotour is clearly the government. It tries to realize the advice of scientists but has to meet the needs of the people, making compromises during this complex situation but it is slowed down by the deniers and the conspiracy theorists. So it can result paralised, exactly as Dotour, and it can hardly act with efficiency.
Thank you, but Majora's demos are not meant for commercial distribution. They're support for a potential staging pitch once the entire score is finished.

I have much higher hopes for this project now that Nintendo's stance on streaming/fan projects/fan content has relaxed a ton, originally I didn't think there was much hope in this being endorsed by Nintendo but considering they just announced an indie game that uses one of Nintendo's IPs (Zelda of all things!) Why are these removed from your majora playlist?
They aren't, because there is no longer a single Majora playlist. A few months ago, I reorganized my channel for a tidier front page.
If you take a look, you will see there are 5 Majora playlists:

- Majora: Instrumentals
- Majora Minutes
- Majora: Q&As
- Majora: Livestreams & devlogs
The first two are made from the original Majora playlist, which had vocal demos and instrumentals together.
Since the vocal demos were made to be a portfolio on their own, and are all now severely outdated compared to the more accurate illustrated instrumentals, I thought it best to separate them.
