The bridge shown was not the first cast iron bridge in the United States. The first cast iron bridge is a very small unassuming bridge you may not even be aware you crossed. If you continue through Brownsville from your location at the Union Station Building on Market St. you will go over it just before crossing Bank St. Just after passing the “Iron Bridge Crossing” building.
✌🏼 🫣 I realized this after I uploaded lol you can actually see the original one just behind where I’m pointing. You gotta give me a pass beca I was still vey new to America and was learning as I go 😁 thankyou for popping in. I hope you enjoy more UnXplainables adventures my friend 💕
I know, it actually made me sad hearing the news of it burning down. I’m so grateful that I got the opportunity to make a final memory within this beautiful building. ☺️🫶🏼
My grandmother and grandfather were members of this church. I stood next to that piano and sang many solos during services. My father still lives in Brownsville. I took this gorgeous church for granted. So sad to see it like this.
🥰💕 thank you for share you beautiful memories with us. It truly is such a h a wonderful and very beautiful church. It really is a shame that it has been left to disappear forever
I live close to Brownsville.....about 5 min away. Unfortunately the pill epidemic off the early 2000s is still having a effect on this small coal mining town and many others in the area.
I’m sorry to hear that, I have to say that it is such a beautiful little town even still after the heart ache shared. I really hope something good comes soon to the town of Brownsville 🩷
@@cindydaniels3964 that's what I thought my roommate thinks some torched it but me I thought someone bought it because I was up for sale fr awhile now and the guy who owns al the buildins refuses to tear them down to the ground and this church wasn't even to be save or fixed up It just so bad inside with the mold and everything else. I thank-you for this information I very much appreciate it
Ooo aggressive 😶 I called it that because the handful of locals that I spoke to kept referring to it as a cathedral. Please have a better day and try to be nice to people, you will feel much better for it 🫶🏼☺️
a complete waste of film. this black church was abandoned half a century ago. There are so many nice places and churches on CHURCH st to film. Go film St. Peter's the oldest R.C. Church in the US this side of the Allegheny/Appalachian mts. It's right up the hill from that dump.

Somebody should have saved the stained glass windows.
I actually said the same thing when I was there. I heard that someone bought the property after I filmed there. Fingers crossed they saved them
This burnt down the other day
I know, I heard about it a few days ago 😞
That's not the cast iron bridge!
It is not a "cathedral" = get your facts straight!
