- hey y'all! In today's video, I check out Janet Jackson's 1993 hit single entitled "That's The Way Love Goes." WOWWWW! I can't believe this is my first time genuinely sitting down and listening to a Janet Jackson record. I really wish I would've checked out her music sooner because I was completely blown away by this song! It's definitely up my alley style wise! I can't wait to check out more from the Iconic Ms. Janet J!!

Janet has never released a bad album but this is by far my favorite era of hers.
This was from the “janet” album. This album had a LOT of bangers. Janet was 26 during this
Time period and YES that was JLo.
This was her biggest hit single 10 weeks I believe at number one.

This was her first video since Rhythm Nation and instead of coming in dancing hard, she came through with a chill vibe...this also introduced us to her new look since last album "Love Will Never Do" was the last video she did before this

Yeah it is Jlo. She started as a dancer and was gonna be on Janet's World Tour but then got hired to do a tv series so she dropped out of it. This was 6 years before she released her own first album. Barely aged since then, must be a vampire haha Can you believe, it's been 28 years!
.... correction, I was there, GenX here, she got the part of SELENA👈🏾😥, she is shaped just like Selena, we all knew she would get it, that was a part of what made Selena so different visually. 💯👈🏾😉

@@incontrol5848 the Selena role is not why Jennifer left though, Selena was still alive during this time (and I love knowing that she was a major Janet fan too), this was 1993, Jennifer (& Josie Harris) were still fly girls on In Living Color, Jennifer quit both In Living Color & Janet because she got cast in a show called South Central that lasted for 1 season of 1993-1994, that kicked off her acting career being her focus & led to Money Train, My Family, & Jack, then she got Selena & Anaconda at the same time.

You should do a vinyl reaction to Control. Its the album that started it all for Janet! Every record label wanted their r&b artists to follow Janet's formula.
Let me tell you now there’s really nothing else like this song in her discography. She’s always had R&B elements, but this song stands out. The closest she got was Got ‘til it’s Gone in 1997, which I highly recommend reacting to. But if you listen to the Control vinyl expecting more of this, you’ll be in for a surprise :)
That is among my top 3 Janet songs. The others being If and Love Will Never Do Without You. So i'd suggest those.

I think you'll have a really strong reaction (and get alot of attention) for the reactions to 1. I Get Lonely (this is HUGE, THIS mixes R&B & Blues with some gospel rooted piano playing), Anytime Anyplace (Same album as this, mixes R&B and Jazz only it's a SLOOOOW JAM...that Kendrick sampled), and Got Til Its Gone. In general you'll do good reacting to all the videos from this era, Rhythm Nation & Control. You should do "If" but you gotta do the "all dance version", the regular version does too many cut aways from the fierceness of her dance routine.

She’s got dozens of hits. Check out the MTV video awards shows performances . She is my age. I believe she’s 52/53 now . Legend like her brother. These are Janets dancers in this video . She hung with them all the time . I can’t believe u haven’t played that vinyl on repeat over and over by now .
You should watch the MTV ICON Tribute to Janet Jackson. It will give you an idea of how influential and inspirational she has been to People like Jlo, Britney!, Christina Aguilera, Aaliyah , Beyonce , Pink and many many more. Ciara, Normani, and other new artists also credit Janet as inspiration. RHYTHM NATION is a great album that was inducted into The National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress. Oh and by the way, Paula Abdul was a laker cheerleader who was dating one of Janet's brothers and they became friends. Janet asked her to be the choreographer during the Control era.
