I watched the first half of this video about an hour ago, and went to the sewing room and made one. Now I'm going back and rewatching to see what I missed (yes, I do fall asleep when watching TH-cam videos LOL) -- I missed a lot!! But it worked, even with the little bit I remembered. I made some popcorn for me and hubby, and it was so easy!! I can make some of these for a gift exchange with my family.
So glad you - eventually - made it through & you & your hubby were able to enjoy it! They make great gifts; I love the gift exchange idea, too. Thaks for commenting!
@@Lindavideos thank YOU for explaining things so well that even *I* can just hop up and go make something, without even completely finishing the tutorial! That's a testimony to your good instruction.
I have tried this twice. Both times the bag burned on the seam allowances where the upper fold is. That's the only place it burns. I used cotton material and cotton thread. Any ideas?
I haven't had any bad experiences with any items in the microwave. I use the materials I've listed & only heat for short intervals. I've seen ones that they sell in stores that are not even made of 100% cotton fabric so I definitely don't know how those are safe! I'm sure there are websites that have additional information about this. Maybe someone else has more info or can answer your question about water.
My website is www.WinnerDesigns.com. I'll put a link to the template(s) for the Popcorn Bag & the Potato Bag at the end. You should put a clickable link to your website in the description area. I think more people would go there if it were easily accessible. Great popcorn bag!
Good idea; I thought the links were already link-able but I just looked & they are not. I'll make sure my video guy does that the next time we film. I'm not sure if we can go back to the previous ones & make changes without losing all of the comments & views.
Oh, so happy to hear you like this as much as I do! I think these are so fun to make & give. Hope the girls enjoy them~ Both Monkey & Sylvester are hiding these days because of Cat so I thought the bell would help me keep track of them. I love hearing them come to me!
Sure, that would work, too! Just give it a quick wash to remove any chemicals it might have. There might be a lot of weight in the bag and you'll be pulling on the strap so it needs to hold up over time. I did 4 corn on the cobs the other night & they were heavy!
I have directions on how to care for them & use them in the microwave but no written directions to make yet. The video walks you through, but I hope to have written directions at some point in the near future.... Thanks for asking!
Ha Ha - thank you pointing that out! This is my business so it is both! But seriously, I apologize if it comes across as 'salesy'. I don't make money from TH-cam like many others do. I create and sell No Slip Templates using a costly laser machine. I hear from customers every day how much the No Slip helps with cutting. Many make these for family & friends, but many others make these items to sell. When you are able to cut easily & quickly in bulk that makes a huge difference in time & quality. But you don't have to use my templates to make these items. You can take the info that I share & do your own thing as the lady in the previous comment did with great success. I try to give enough techniques or tips that will make watching mine worthwhile but there are lots of others that you can watch instead. Thanks for your feedback.
Sorry, I haven't posted written directions on these yet. I had hoped to but decided to focus on the Care & Handling Info & post it since that kind of info isn't readily available online but the directions are. I apologize as I have been swamped with so many things, both personal & business. I am just trying to keep up! I'm still hoping to find someone that can watch my videos & write out the directions that I share in exchange for a free template. Are you interested? Fingers crossed....!
Thanks, Helen for the nice words. Sorry you were having a problem getting to my sites! Here are links to both: winner-designs.myshopify.com/ facebook.com/lindawinnerdesigns
Great question! Since I don't have time to make to sell, I don't have personal experience. Take a look at this link to Etsy. It looks like $12 would be a good price. Add a little thing of seasonings & some popcorn & you could ask for more. www.etsy.com/search?q=popcorn%20bag%20microwave&ref=search_bar
I just saw your video and I know I can sell the heck out of them. You talked about the card you include with the bag, but I could not find it on your website. Do you have it somewhere else? Also i love the fabric.. can you share where you got it.Thanks
It's not on the website yet. I mentioned on my Winner Designs for Sewing & Quilting Page that I'm working on the 'How to Make' & 'How to Use' directions for the Popcorn Bag, Potato Bag & the Tortilla Warmer (video filmed but not posted yet.) When I get them all done, I'll have the girl that does my website post them. For now, I am including the 'How to Use' for the 2 bags with the purchase of the Microwave Bag.' As for the fabric, I'm not sure where I got the popcorn fabrics. I bought them a couple years ago when I put together a popcorn-themed gift basket so they may not even be available anymore.... BTW - If you follow me on Facebook, I announce when new stuff is out & different sales, too. Thanks for asking!
Yes, the cat walking around made me cringe. Especially when the cat’s tail was right above food (popcorn). But good explanation on using a microwave bag. Thanks!

Have you had your bag scorch and actually brown and tear? Should I be using a bit of water in the micro?

The cat walking over the open scissors gave me anxiety! Nice pattern, and I like the french seams. Thanks! Does it have to be a spinning microwave?
Yes, the cat walking around made me cringe. Especially when the cat’s tail was right above food (popcorn). But good explanation on using a microwave bag. Thanks!
I would not use the corner template. Not safe. I would fraw my line and cut with the scissors. Great tutorial
I understand. That's the nice thing about sewing; you can di what's comfortable for you~
Great video, just don’t want cat hair.
Oh yeah, I understand completely! But with 5 indoor kitties & 2 outdoor kitties, we will always have cat hair somewhere...
