Basant Pallavi

Pallavi is a pure dance and implies elaboration
an exposition and not only of the dance but also of the music that accompanies it. The graceful and lyrical movement of the dancer's form is supported by intricate rhythm patterns of exceptional beauty. this pallavi is the most oldest pallavi composed on the early fifties by the great Odissi maestro Padmavibhushan Guru Shree Kelucharan Mohapatra. based on raga Basant, taala Ekotali, music composed by Pandit Bhubaneswar Mishra.
This is a regular practice video during covid by Sri Shib Narayan Banerjee, a State Music Academy awardee, Gold Medalist, Doordarshan Graded Odissi Dancer from Kolkata, created Genius World Record in the field of Largest Odissi Dance Repertoire with the blessings of his Guru Sri Ratikanta Mohapatra. He is a founder and director of SHIVANG, a home of Odissi. apart from the performance he teaches and conducts workshop globally, has many Students who've received Scholarship from CCRT ministry of cultural, Gov of India, both senior and junior. Completed M.A. and PhD in the same field. He's awarded with Nritya Ratna, Nritya Churamani, Nrityacharjjya, prabhupaad sanman , kumar sanman, bibek sanman name of few, also received Sanjukta Panigrahi smriti sanman, Nritya Jyoti sanman from the mother land of Odissi, Bhubaneswar.
