I love both voices, but that high pitch the man carried, then brought it back down, is beautiful! Especially the TV show Nashville version, which is how I heard of this beautiful song.
It was one thing to completely fall IN LOVE with this song while watching Nashville, but it's a completely different thing to find out that it's The Civil Wars singing it! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
John Paul White and Joy Williams are behind magic all over the place...This song...and 'Safe and Sound' (Hunger Games soundtrack), sung by Taylor Swift who HAD to have gotten some vocal instruction from Joy Williams because she's never sounded like that in any song. I've been a fan of them for a while now, but I'm also a fan of Nashville. Glad more people are finding out about them. They deserve the recognition.

Ever since discovering The Civil Wars via Pandora, I have felt that the Scarlett and Gunnar characters on Nashville are modeled after Joy and John Paul. Love this!!
Yes, CW were awesome, the irony here is the relationship that Scarlett and Gunnar had in the show perfectly reflects the song and it makes you wonder about the relationship that John Paul amd Joy had. It makes it even more poignant
Clare Bowen and Sam Pallidino sung the song. In an interview Clare mentioned that it was the first time Sam had sung falceto. Clare Bowen's voice is different than Joy Williams. Also the song was played and sung at a slightly slower tempo on Nashville
