Full marks to the way Ian casually introduces the arrest of Kent’s great friend to the conversation. The friend is the p3dophile Kent welcomes to DAL anytime.

I love watching these debates because it gives me responses to my family that I can’t come up with spur of the moment. Keep it up!
Check out Aron Ra's Channel as well. He helped me a lot. Examine all arguments carefully and know that the Bible contradicts itself hundreds of time, which proves it was written and edited and re-edited hundreds of time by fallible men. I always ask: "What is your evidence for this?", and if they don't have any I say "I'm not obligated to believe anything that contradicts Logic and cannot be verified by evidence.
So Ian basically proved that Kent doesn't believe his own definition of evolution is actually evolution.
I really hate how Kent keep asking for evidence of evolution that would actually disprove evolution, he keep asking us to show things that would violate the law of monophyly.

I've seen AI chat bots that do better key word prompts than Kent does with his long experienced human brain.
I have heard of AI chat bots taking on telemarketing scammers. Perhaps someone out there could refine a script to take on other flavors of conmen.
In fairness, AI is going crazy these days so you could say that about a lot of people
Kent can't explain how he taught all the sciences and math he boasts about, when he doesn't have any higher qualifications in those subjects.
It’s easy when he makes up whatever is required to agree with the only book he’s ever read.
I never took SFT Donny for neutral. In many "discussions" Kent had like double the amount of time as other participants. It seems to me SFT tries to present this as a platform for "truth" - but actually framing religious topics as something that can be discussed on the same level as actual science.

The stupid, cheap trick Kent pulls is similar to someone insisting it's absurd to claim that flower buds turn into flowers, instead positing that God creates the flowers in the places where the buds used to be. Then, when he is shown a montage of time-delayed photography allowing one to see the process sped up, he says "This footage is doctored! The people who made it conspired to create this illusion! Besides, where is the missing link between bud and slightly opened bud? Or between slightly opened bud and half-open bud, and between half-open bud and mostly-open flower, or between mostly open flower and fully open flower? This is a religious belief, not science!" It's incredibly discouraging that he ever had a serious following.

For a supposed math teacher, it is extremely sad, that you don't know, that you can switch from S=D÷T to T=D÷S so solving the formula for time. This is basics, Kent.
And the speed of light thing is a complete misrepresentation from Kent, obviously.
There are three velocities associated with light.
Front velocity
Phase velocity
Group velocity
The phase velocity describes the speed at which the wave moves. (the speed of individual humps), it can be negative.
The group velocity describes how quickly the shape of the wave moves, the envelope of the wave. (the speed of groups of humps, a phasechange) the group velocity can be negative.
The front velocity is the speed of the foremost point of the wave. This is a constant.
Kent wants you to believe, that changing group or phase velocity changes c (the front velocity), which is NOT the case.
AJ made a small mistake there, saiying the front velocity can change.

This is my second time hearing this debate and I'm realizing that Ian's introduction after the BF , was just Ian explaining some standards for the debate. Which just got completely ignored by Kent lol.

Well, there were at least plans for Forrest Valkai to take on Matt Powell, who was hanging at DAL at the time. The challenge was issued while Forrest was being interviewed by Creaky Blinder, but then Powell ran for the hills when Forrest tried to hammer out a date for the debate. (Now, I doubt that's the reason he left DAL. We may never know that one.)

Watch any random Hovind debate from years back, skip ahead ten years and pick another, then choose one from the last year or two.

I like how Kent thinks, or pretends to think, that mentioning the simplest possible piece of information, however tangentially connected it is to a specific question that has been asked of him, is somehow the same thing as actually answering the question. Y'know towards the end of the debate, I would've just shut down the arguement about fossils forming in the flood or sand or volcanic ash. He should've jsut been like "The topic about the flood is not relevant to the discussion. Answer why you don't accept fossils as evidence."

Fish with what is perceived as having limbs to get out of the water will not all of a sudden change the fact that it can't breathe air. For example flying fish can glide in the air and use it's fins to do but it still is a fish and lives in water. Penguin us their wings to swim instead of flying. This is why I dismiss his fossil claim of fish with limbs to get out of the water. This is why kent is saying you really don't know much about bones because it just doesn't give enough details how the animal behaved in the wild

Years ago there there were no transitional fossils but, since we DO have transitional fossils. Lots of them. The more we go deeper in Earth we're do find transitionals.

I've never liked the way Donny has fun these things. It's always "Evolution on trial" when they are the side taking the affirmative. Kent has basically never had to defend his position because it's set up in a way that he will never have to.

Let’s not waste time here. But let’s repeat every question for Kent because he’s not paying attention to the question the first time.
Here is an analogy for those that say things like "The matter in the universe traveled faster than the speed of light". 1) No matter, just energy. Ask them if they remember E=mc^2, and remind them that energy and matter can be converted into each other. 2) How fast can an ant travel? Like on their own, just running using their legs. No matter what they say, ask them, what if they were in a semi-trailer going 100 mph? They should be able to understand that the ant speed is what ever they said+100mph. That is what happens with the expansion of the universe. IT can travel faster than light, as it is defining the distance traveled (speed is distance / time) :)
Kent obviously doesn’t know anything about measuring angles even though I’d have expected him to measure angles during experiments he did at university before being qualified to teach science.
I know that even in an electrical engineering degree we had to measure angles down to arc seconds (which is approximately 0.000278 degrees so is many times smaller than Kent’s quoted ridiculously small value that can’t be measured) using theodolites and I seem to remember spectrometers even being able to measure angles of less than 1 arc minute.
Also Kent saying that at the start of the universe light was much faster than it is now according to the mainstream big bang theory when afaik the universe was opaque and no light travelled (?) then he says the matter when again there was no matter (afaik) at first.
I don’t know if protons and neutrons had started to form before cosmic inflation ended but even if they did the expansion of space time being faster than light doesn’t mean they traveled faster than light themselves.

So when I got him to agree stellar parallax was a viable methodology to measure the age of the earth then proceeded to show using satellites we know the earth is at least 30,000+ years old… what did he do? Complain he wanted biological evolution.
