I am a bank person, but I see many people doing cash envelopes. Can you explain why this is a good practice, rather than just putting the money in the bank in sperate saving accounts?

Divide by 26 if you get paid biweekly, you’ll have 26 paychecks not 24 and that will lessen the amount that you need to take out each month so it makes a little bit more manageable
Hi! Welcome! And no! All of our bills get paid electronically. I've taken out physical cash for my spending money (things like groceries, self-care, etc.) For the Sinking Funds, if I take it out of the bank to save in a cash envelope, then I deposit it back in the bank when the bill is due.
Why not reduce the sinking funds by the $645 and list them the following paycheck? My brain can not wrap around being in the negative even though I understand that in the checkbook ledger you are not overdrawn. Do you round up when you items like the takeout? I noticed that all categories contain no cents.
Yes - like you said, the actual account is not negative and since I'm not necessarily indicating this negative number, it doesn't bother me. Also, I haven't withdrawn the SFs for this month (will do so at the end).
