Us kiwis are typically hard on ourselves so vlogs like this are a reminder to us kiwis that NZ ain't so bad. NZ is not paradise. Nowhere is. But it's a decent place and does ok for being a small country. Welcome Craig and Chantelle. I hope you are settling into your new lives here. There'll be good days and bad days since moving countries is always a wrench. Join a club to meet the locals. You'll slot right in with yr great attitudes. Welcome to New Zealand, guys! So glad you're with us, you're a Kiwi the second you touch down. Love Northland, it's a really special part of Aotearoa. Hopefully you get the chance to do a decent amount of travel. The best piece of advice I can give you to REALLY get to see New Zealand is this... The best parts of New Zealand are found at the end of a gravel road.
The secret, hidden gems that truly give you a taste of what New Zealand is all about, are all off the beaten track. Ask the locals, and be prepared to get your boots muddy... but the experience at the end of weird little side road you find yourself on will blow you away.
If you're ever in Taranaki and want to find those magical spots hit me up. My little family are always up for an adventure.

Have to admire your taste. Northland is beautiful, except for the roads. Lived here all my life. Plenty of SA'cans here. They seem to fit in once we teach them about rugby and cricket. Haere Mai.
Northland is really beautiful 😊 not sure what you mean about the roads, looks perfect to us 😅 (where we come from there are more potholes than road, so really appreciating the roads here 😅)
Everytime you both walk around the next corner while your hiking the sparkle in both ur eyes and internalised joy on your faces says it all its like a prayer to the gods omg and the amount of wows is so cool to see , it’s the sigh of appreciation for the beauty. It’s also a sign that you are comfortable and safe from harm

The time is just dragging by so we decided to spend a few days exploring pilanesberg region just to stay busy. We watched your newest video last night and NZ is so beautiful. We believe that the regions are different but facts like the different electrical providers and mobile packages are some important details which we suspect will be similar everywhere in NZ. We will keep in touch and continue enjoying your videos. I suspect that Craig’s first salary should be around the corner. 😁

I'm glad your first impressions are really good. As far as I know New Zealand can be expensive to live in, but it's very worth it. As an Aussie, NZ is like family. Sometimes I am envious of NZ government and politics and wish Australia was more like NZ! The people and culture is fantastic, the natural beauty outstanding.

I got to re-live my experience seeing all of that for the first time almost 4 years ago when we moved here. Welcome guys, you won't be disappointed in Whangarei. Sandy's to Whananaki hike is amazing too, try that next time you're out Sandy's way and check out Wellington Bay in Tutukaka also, another gem. Paihia is an hour up North, definitely head up there and to Russel at some stage, the Bay of Islands will blow your mind again.

I visited Whangerais twice in 1969 and 1972 on one visit an officer died in a car crash. The Maori people provided an escort in the pouring rain to bring his body back to the ship. He was buried at sea. This is something I will never forget

There is a strong SA community here. 1 down side about living here in Whangarei is that you get all the Aucklanders here in the summer times and long weekends as alot of Aucklanders have summer batches along the coast. But I still love it here. In a lot of ways I feel so blessed. I live in Onerahi. I think you may have driven passed it on your travels to Whangarei Heads. Welcome and good luck to you both.

If you love costal life you've move to the perfect location. Beaches either way you travel. From 10 to 45mins depending on what your into. Rocky, boulder, fine sand, chucky sand, shelly. Whangarei has it all!!

Excellent to see. Whale Bay is our favourite, but we also love Oakura. Bit of a drive on a very winding road, but worth it. Helena Bay Cafe is a must, great views from the deck and some amazing artwork for your new home.
