In case people didn't know/realise... this tattoo for Paul is right next to the tattoo that Corey has for his son Griffin. I think that's pretty awesome.
Keeping the most important people in his life close together.

I'm 23 and I just cried over thats what happened to my best friend and I also have a tattoo of him but its on my arm. So I fell him and let me tell you what.. it's hard as fuck to get over it. I went through major depression. i was only 16 when he died. he got shot right next to me and I have the scar to prove it. I got shot in the arm where my tattoo is. He got shot through his brain. He will always be my best friend.

It's hard to believe how kind and emotional and caring every single member of Slipknot is.
Their founder, Crahan, is probably the nicest guy in all of metal. It's amazing. I felt the emotion in their newest album, and then I saw this. Surprised I never saw it, but that's awesome.

We will never truelly know how Paul and Joey left us. I was fortunate to hang out with the entire band on Ozzfest 99-2000. The most memorable was on Iowa tour. After the Tampa Show all of them were outside the bus not having to leave yet. I got Joey to notice me. He put his arm over my back and brought me to meet up with The band. First was Mick and Jim. So cool the said a few thanks for being at the show. Paul was about as crazy as Shawn. Corey was winding down from the show. Joey went into the bus a gave me a limited edition CD of their first album. It was in a different order of songs, they were all longer and also had a full recording of a ongoing FBI case. Roadrunner was informed and they only made like 1,200 of them before it all changed to what was the official Release. I also received a merch bag with a shirt, poster, DVD, 2 drum sticks and picks that were used in the show. With that hour with the band Joey was the most great full that I took the effort to talk to him. He said traveling all the time actually gets lonely and compounds your problems. That is part of the reason musicians go down the rabbit hole. It seemed like Joey wanted a friend to hang out with when he gets back home. Just to be liked as a person and not because he was a Drum master. Sometimes when someone passes away part of you leaves also. The closeness that once was there just to never have again.

I've watched this video only a handful of times, even though I've been a Slipknot fan for a long time. But every time I watch it, it reminds me of when I got a tattoo last year to honor my dad. Sadly, two years ago, he passed away from acute liver failure. I got a tattoo honoring his career in radio, because he was a radio DJ back in the '80s. It was definitely emotional getting it done. I was able to keep it together until the last 10 minutes. My pain tolerance was gone at that point. Lol. I got it five days before the one year anniversary of his death. The anniversary of his death was just a couple days ago.
And I cry along with Corey every time I watch this. Because how he felt getting this tattoo for Paul was how I felt getting mine for my dad. I hope my dad sees my tattoo and I hope he knows I miss him terribly.
My condolences if it helps I know how you feel, my dad had cancer for 3 years and when he got out of surgery I got a tattoo in honor of him and a year later he got the same tattoo and when he died I altered my tattoo by adding his birthdate and death date

First of all if you listen to any Slipknot song you can really feel the emotion behind it, that's what makes Slipknot heavier than a lot of black metal or death metal bands. I have tons of tattoos. Big ones. I have a calf tattoo that was ground on for a straight 5 hours and it's fucking like running a soldering iron over raw meat by about hour 2. But the whole thing is not showing emotion, that you can take it. Not rolling around in withering pain having to have your girlfriend stroke you as you writhe in tears. I'm referencing the tattoo tears, not the moments of.paul tears. It's heavily edited show.
Why people mention his tears about physical pain, is because he is yelling fuck every other word aggressively at a crowd and wearing scary masks and screaming dark lyrics and crying like a baby when a needle hurts him. Telling stories about telling some guy he was going to beat the shit out of him for impersonating him at bar. My money would've been on Corey before I saw this...lol

Danny Madrigal im a Christian as well man. But I always say that god puts things in your life in times that you need them. this band had an extreme influence on my when i was younger. Now that I have grown from my previous life choices and situations, i can say that this definitely had an impact with my relationship with the one above. ive met a lot of other followers who were into this band at the same time.
