    :29 "GRID" which means they hike all 48 - 4000 footers in every month. For 576 total summits. Which is about 3000 miles of trail and 1 million feet of elevation gain. Not to mention the winter weather in the Whites.

    we had a moose here in southern nh but I guess someone called fish and game complaining about it , it was a young female hanging out in people's backyards. So fish and game chased into the woods shot it and then took it's head supposedly to check for " brain w orm" ... man sometimes humans are the worse

    • @jk-cj2ly
      @jk-cj2ly ปีที่แล้ว

      That's shocking to me. Especially since moose are on everything in NH-shirts, towels, pictures; they seem to be worshipped. If that's true, it's disgusting. People in Rockingham County are a little snooty, so maybe not surprising.

    • @neoanderson726
      @neoanderson726 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jk-cj2ly yeah when I moved here I was a bit confused as well like they say how NH treasures it's green spaces and wildlife but this state also allows fireworks . I have seen first hand how fireworks have frightened deer so bad they coming flying out of the woods running aimlessly from the sound of my neighbors fireworks ..in congruent say one thing but do the opposite . Same with changing zoning willy nilly to suit the NH government so that they get more tax money . ,,Like rezoning old farms so that developers can come in and put in a cul de sac of cheap mcmansions . Or like when I moved to my small town you had to have at least 5 acres and 300 foot frontage on a road to build but they changed that after a few of being here now there are mcmansions everywhere on tiny lots... O lost track I think last count was 20 new developments in my tiny town and that was just cul de sac developments not including individual house ... IT is about the tax money the greedy ^&%$#. They do not care about the animals that were displaced, about the green spaces or even about the people or how they baited and switched home owners " come to Nh buy this old house fix it up in this cute pastoral agricultural town and less then 10 years later they change the zoning and now it looks like I am living in a suburb of Massachusetts . Meh it is all about money

      So we visit from NJ about 3x a year. I tell people to please not let it become like my state where they would build on a postage stamp if they could. Go to your zoning board meetings and he heard. Too much new construction everywhere. Keep NH beautiful.

      Yes, you get dinner and breakfast and a bunk. It’s not a lot when you consider your in a beautiful spot in the Whites with breathtaking views. The “croo” has to carry all the supplies in and trash out over tough terrain, and the money goes to good use with the AMC.

    Hey you little confusing people I think (cheating) by taking day zero and driving home and after you relax you re-establish the track? After home visits or similar, you finish the trail and have to stop counting - this is a new hike. Have a nice hike! 🙂

      First of all your English grammar is atrocious. You have a year to finish the trail no matter how many times you leave the trail.

      Wrong. Uneducated about the process. Do your research before you comment. You show others you are an imbecile (look it up).

    Having done that section as a weekend trip, I think you made the right call. I hiked from the PN Visitor Center to a stealth site near Mt. Hieght and and it was BRUTAL. While you have your trail legs, the extra mileage just getting off the presidential range would make up for that. I'm sure you COULD have done it, but you likely would have regretted it.
