dawg that's not good writing... she was literally taught to fight fr the day before and somehow won a fight against a seasoned war veteran. this is literally cliche and lazy writing at its peak- sacrificing realistic development to put some children's show worthy message like "you can do anything if you believe in yourself!" on the table is much more telling. good writing is the traveler loosing to arlechino, and this is the exact opposite: sticking plot armor on a character out of convenience.
